We loved this hotel for the many reasons mentioned by others, which I used to inform my choice: location, value, cool decor. The lounge is awesome! The bartender was attentive, friendly and mixed a mean cocktail. :)

The only complaint would be that the hotel only offers full sized beds in the double rooms. I'd much rather queen, since it's difficult for two adults to sleep well in such a small bed (we had two adults and one teen). The only other thing beyond their control, which I did not expect, was the loud train horn! The tracks are nearby and like clockwork, the train whistle blew in the middle of the night and again early in the morning.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Self serve free coffee in the mornings as well as an ice machine. We loved the retro flair which they kept in the renovations. Small rooms but perfectly designed for a short stay. Cute bar area for the evenings and even a nicely decorated terrace where we enjoyed our morning coffee.

The hotel felt a bit humid/moist at all times which left a bit of a lingering smell. Could be adjusted to if you aren't sensitive to smells. It could be that the carpet just needs to be the next thing to be renovated. We were a bit disappointed that there was no breakfast facilities at all. Bar area is very cute and would also have room for a small breakfast buffet but this wasn't an option. Not the fault of the hotel per se - but the parking lot is very difficult to get in and out of easily on Capitol Blvd. Would be great for the staff to better advise the back way out of the property.

The hotel is in a central location in the city. Within easy walking distance of a number of city museum and a good selection of cafes, eateries and local pubs/ breweries. The room allocated was very nice, spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel provided free drinking water and ice which was great given the very hot weather. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They also provided information sheets on local attractions, restaurants etc which I used as a first timer to the city. The hotel also has a nice bar and very nice patio area offering a selection of draft and bottled beers and spirits. A very nice hotel which I would recommend.

The hotel doesn't provide any breakfast even a simply continental breakfast but does provide free coffee in the morning.

Longleaf is an absolute gem in Raleigh. Superbly located on the edge of downtown, and just blocks away from Glenwood South, this converted motel is a very cool affordable place to stay when visiting Raleigh. We have even used it if we want to have a night downtown and don't want to travel home. The rooms are old-style motel rooms but have GREAT upgrades and are so comfy. The hotel bar IS AWESOME. It's staffed with great bartenders who are friendly and make EXCELLENT cocktails. We go there even when we aren't staying. Finally, the staff is always fun, helpful, and friendly. I can't recommend this local gem any more.

Loved the vibe and decor. Beds very comfy, bathroom clean and stocked with Malin+Goetz products. Helpful suggestions provided for nearby attractions. Easy to get to from airport and downtown Raleigh. Coffee delicious with big to-go cups - a real bonus. Outdoor patio pleasant with good selection of beers and snacks. Carafe and water classes provided with filtered water and ice available down the hall. Phone chargers at bedside. Friendly staff. Thoughtful touches all around.

Noisy neighbors our first night there. A bit removed from the action but that could be a good thing. Right off the highway but didn't notice traffic.

I loved the decor and how it gave the feel of nostalgia as well. The room was small but very functional. The bed was comfortable, and I love the fact that they provide a bluetooth speaker and robes to use during the stay. The location and parking were both great! It is close enough to downtown, where you can walk to Publix, Morgan Street Food Hall, and more!

I did have a small incident w/ants in the bathroom but it was resolved quickly after I reported it to guest services and it didn't deter me from having a positive experience at Longleaf. I didnt mind the lack of elevatoes but wish there was access to the lobby from within the building vs walking outside. Still not enough to deter me from booking here for my next trip to Raleigh!

This hotel is simply amazing. The location is great but more importantly the staff is top notch. The outside Lounge/bar area is awesome. The rooms and hallways are super clean with a nice scent. The registration hosts Rob and Maria are super nice. The craft cocktails that the bar serve are top notch. This hotel is the place to stay if you want that Colorado/Asheville that meets Raleigh Vibe. Great job Longleaf keep up the good vibe.

We loved our stay here! The location is ideal, super easy to get to and other places in the area are in walking distance. Of course the free parking was nice plus our room wasn't far from where we parked. The room was so cozy and we loved the robes, we wore them all morning before we had to check out. Would definitely stay here again!!

It was a tad noisy from the people outside the window and the stair case next to us but it wasn't too bad. Didn't affect our stay!

It is super clean and staff is wonderful! It’s perfect if you are just looking for a clean place to stay and sleep , but will be out almost all of the day. bathroom and showers look newer and clean the shampoo and conditioner and body wash nice quality.

The free coffee is not good at all. please look into a better brand. Some simple fruits, bagels, breakfast bars and continental type breakfast would be nice to have offered. It’s a very basic no frills no extra type of place , however I’m not complaining about that because I knew going in and I fit my purpose. I was there for a 2 night stay and out all day during the day for business.

In the middle of town. Loved the separate living bed/living areas, seeing that me my gf doesn't look at the same shows. Separate bathrooms and very clean . Staff was great and the bar/lounge is great.

There's no microwave in the rooms, you have to go to the lounge and have the staff warm your food. Wasn't feeling that. It's in the middle of town, which can be a bad thing also lol. The TV situation was weird because in the bedroom I couldn't get cable but in the living area I could. Those are the only complaints though.
