We loved the historic house and its location in an historic district of Dayton. The hosts were really friendly and made sure that all our needs were met. The woodwork detail, original to the mid 1800s, was extraordinary. We had a large suite with a kitchen, bath, and large bedroom. We even watched our grandchild's high school graduation many states away on the streaming TV. We felt safe walking around the neighborhood in the evenings. The Oregon District is full of historic homes.

It was fine for us, but it is not handicap accessible. I'm not sure if that is mentioned in the property description. We loved the upstairs room and how quiet it was.

The staff was insanely nice, especially the owner! I also loved how charming it was and the little wine shop downstairs was nice! I also enjoyed the anytime breakfast options. I never like getting up at like 7am for a free breakfast on my vacations so it's much appreciated! Also I loved the spa tub!!

It would've been nice to have a corkscrew around somewhere after hours since they are already encouraging you to buy their wine, and there was a little bit of dust here and there. The important things were all clean though, so I'm not complaining too much. The only other thing would be that the internet was insanely slow, but that seems pretty typical.

Leslie the owner welcomed me like I was a long-lost friend. The apartment was very comfortable, the breakfast assortment was abundant. (Who told her that I like Raisin Bran, a ripe banana, coffee, and fresh orange juice waiting for me in the kitchen when I arrived?) Plus, for wine lovers, she and her husband have a delightful retail wine store/wine bar. It's located in the hip and historic Oregon District which has some of Dayton's finest restaurants right around the corner. I had a three day meeting at the Dayton Convention Center which is a few blocks away.

Nothing I disliked.

Host and owner Leslie is very personable , friendly, and welcoming. The home is a short two block walking distance to restaurants and a vibrant happening. Guests include local friends from the historic district neighborhood to enjoy a glass of wine from a well stocked 'wine only bar', which speaks volumes. 😀 The Oporto Room consists of a bath, kitchen, and comfortable bedroom. Excellent choice in every sense!

Steep stairwell to our Oporto room in this 1877 built home, but to be expected. Parking spaces are narrow for larger vehicles.

This hotel is an absolute gem. Built in the 1800s it oozes old world charm and is very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast food was excellent - fresh fruit, beautiful dairy and bread products. Choice of cereals and an array of coffee or tea to choose from. We had stayed in budget hotels prior to this on our trip. This was slightly more expensive but massive value for money. Staying here was a wonderful travel experience.

No complaints at all.

Leslie was wonderful and welcoming. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever had pleasure to sleep upon. The bathroom was huge! The jacuzzi tub was a dream. I will definitely be back!!

While the location is ideal in terms of getting aroumd the Oregon District, I was woken up by drunken people on the street outside when i had the window open. I appreciate the hall light between the bedroom and bathroom has to remain on for safeties sake but the light from the small windows above the closed door was still bright in the room making it hard to sleep.

I just happened to book a night here while passing through. I didn’t realize what a hidden gem this place is. We had the room with a jacuzzi tub and it was great. The host are great. It’s within walking distance to a little downtown area with the street blocked off. it had a bunch of Restuarant’s and other shops although mostly bars and restaurants.

The hostess was wonderful. The woodworking and personal touches were something to be admired. Being in the historic district offered additional entertainment and ambiance. Was very relaxing. A thorough list of recommendations was left in our suite. I would return here and suggest that others book here as well. It won't disappoint.

That as an amazing find! It's actually more a B&B then a hotel, very small, quaint old property. The reception area however is VERY dangerous: it's half reception/half wine bar... you'll walk away with a bottle of lovely French White wine to wash down the dust of the road. Rooms are spacious and it feels like you have a mini-apartment for your self. PLUS: they reserved our parking spot with a little name tag, I can't remember when a hotel last did that for me. Very cool.

Well, I personally didn't mind it at all ... but if you like the latest newest fashionable room interior, the rooms were Old (naturally, it's a historic building!) but this might be off putting for some? Definitely not for us, just pointing that out.

breakfast was marginal. NO Organics, no protein,, NOT even hard boiled eggs or sausage, or bacon. i APPRECIATED THE YOGHURT however I would have enjoyed WHOLE FAT yoghurt, MOST PEOPLE realize by now that whole fat is better for health. I would have appreciated organically grown fruit. Hand soaps were exceptional, grape. Real coffee cups YES!, ROOMS WERE COMFORTABLE AND WELL DONE. eNJOYED the feeling of having the whole house to ourselves. Hostess was very welcoming and friendly. The whole house was beautiful with a victorian feel.
