Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Miami, an IHG Hotel

I've stayed at a few hotels in Miami when I'm visiting family and the last several times I have always gone back to Holiday Inn Express. They have maintained the facilities throughout the pandemic and it made it comfortable to return to the room at the end of the day. I especially liked that the blinds covered the window completely and blocked the sun and heat.

It's not as updated as many Holiday Inn Express locations across the nation. I didn't realize it, but my cousin mentioned that the toilet seat was loose and only connected on one side. I forgot to mention it to the staff when I went back downstairs since I always used the staircase instead of elevator.

Breakfast was minimal, due to "short staff". I had two cups of coffee. I was delighted with the newer bed linens, it was refreshing. I have stayed at this location many times over the years, back when there was a fireplace and conversational chairs in the lobby (I do miss that), The staff was very casually dressed but quite nice. I will stay again in the future.

The breakfast buffet was basically nil. There was a store bought pancake mix in place to pour your own. I passed on that item. There was Yogurt and possibly bread for toast. No bellman available, nor a cart at the time I required one.

Location

Booking.com is a very unethical business. They book a major portion of hotel rooms in advance on cheaper rates - and then resell the rooms at much higher prices. The hotel listed the room for $105.00 but when you call them to bool, they don't have a room available in their system because it's all booked - however, when you search on Booking.com, the same room is available for $180.00 This is a bad business ethics by Booking.com

There was a baseball team staying there so there was just a bit of noise in the hall as I was settling in to bed, but not too bad. However, due to the team, there was limited food left when I went down for breakfast. The lady working the breakfast room made sure I got enough though options were limited and there was not any coffee left. I was able to take a cup of water with me to use with the Keurig in my room.

Based on some of the other options, it was a bit on the higher end expense wise, but it was conveniently located and a brand name that I have confidence in, so still decided to book my room there.

Clean and adequately appointed. Nice amenities for the price-point. Quiet. The smell of MJ in the hallway. 😄

Off quite a bumpy side road. The desk clerk was chatting it up with another guest while helping us. Our freezer/refrigerator was in desperate need of a thaw. And this last is not something that bothers me, but FYI... the 3rd floor was lit. As in someone was really enjoying marijuana. It bothered my daughter, who has scent sensitivities.

You need to hire a cook the front desk acts as cook was running around like a chicken with her head cut off

I did not have breakfast. The coffee was good.

I was charged $318.31 even though I had a confirmed price of $215.37. I have contacted the Hotel and requested a credit be issued to my credit card as instructed by Booking.com. I would appreciate any help in getting my $102.94 credit issued expeditiously.

The location was convenient right off the highway. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly throughout our stay.

There was a musty odor in our room when we walked into the room. We had traveled all day so we didn’t notice it that much because we went right to sleep.

Comfortable. Besides housekeeping, staff was amazing. In particular, the midnight shift front desk agent and the breakfast buffet attendant.

I was taking a bath and didnt get to the door. The housekeeping staff unlocked the top lock and main lock and barged in to just give me new towels. Had a hiccup with payment.

the rooms were very clean, the beds were comfy and the breakfast selection was awesome! cinnamon rolls were a treat!
