Phoenix Inn Suites Albany

The Phoenix Inn was just what we needed for our one-night stop on our way home from vacation. It's a well-run hotel with friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the location was very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, with the extra bonus of a sitting space and wet bar. As others have noted, the breakfast is about what you'd expect when hot food is provided: a waffle-maker, scrambled eggs with cheese, seasoned breakfast potatoes, a pot of sausage gravy; a few cold cereals and muffin-y items, bread to make your own toast, coffee and juices, etc. We really appreciated the 24-hr coffee and hot water, too.

For the price, not a thing! I would have liked a better selection of yogurt and fruit at breakfast, but I'm not complaining when it's free, and we got what we needed to start our day!

The King Suite was huge. The bed was the most comfortable of all 5 hotels we stayed at on this trip, regardless of cost. We both finally had a really good night's sleep. The best surprise was the coffee. It was not "hotel coffee" but Seattle's Best, and it truly was the best and a very good complement to the excellent breakfast buffet.

The only downer was the "Adult" business next door. I'm certain that the management is not happy with it either, but can't change that. Still, we felt secure.

This place was fabulous! I was so impressed with how nice everything was. Beautiful lobby, friendliest front desk staff ever (shout out to Cindy), and a great, warm buffet breakfast spread. Rooms are gigantic. And great for sleeping- black out shades, fan on provides great white noise, very spacious set up. Shower had superb water pressure and no-slip mats. So many little details this place nailed. Oh- and warm fresh cookies offered in lobby.

On-line reservation process was easy to use. Desk Staff put us at ease. Rooms were clean and spacious. Water pressure was excellent. Bed was comfortable. I appreciated the extra pillows. Heater/AC systems worked well and was very quiet. Housekeeping staff was also polite.

Perhaps a more spacious vanity top. When two people start laying out their "toiletries" it suddenly gets real crowded.

The room was a great size. The breakfast was continental and there were several yummy options. The ambiance of the hotel was very inviting upon arrival. The sheets were very soft and the room smelled great! The little gym was almost perfect for my morning workouts! The location is next to the police department which was great for peace of mind! Also, incase it helps you decide on the location, there is an adult store next door haha and a Denny's with a Seahawks sports bar across the street!

My key stopped working a few times so I had to go update the card. The ladies at the front desk seemed to blame me for it, so my feelings were a little hurt but I got over it.

EVERYTHING!!! Staff, Room, Breakfast, Bed, Location, Value. The entire staff was very friendly, helpful, and extremely pleasant!!!

Minor: Housekeeping could have been a little better. Our mirror was very smudged and they forgot to refill the coffee.

The room we had was very nice and clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay there again. There was an incident with our kids and grandchild that happened in the pool and the staff were right on it. Thank you for that!

Don't have any complaints

The room is very spacious and comfortable. I got a king suite. I like the set up where there's a half wall between the seating area with the couch and the bed. They have good coffee. Seattle's best. The ice machine and vending machine was right next to the elevator which made it really convenient to just grab stuff as you got off the elevator and then head to your room.

I wish there was a bigger selection of breakfast items that were easy to just Grab & Go.

The room was clean and had everything we needed. The receptionist cheerfully changed our room so we could stay away from the freeway.

I wish the cleaning products were not so strongly scented. Hot weather meant I didn't want to leave a window open.

The experience at the hotel was great overall. The mask mandate had just been reinstated, staff were cordial and signage about mask requirements was prominently displayed. Our stay was at the end of a long, hot day so we were grateful for a clean, cool and comfortable room.

Would have liked a few more substantive options for breakfast (meat, scrambled eggs, etc), but what was available was well prepared. There was also a used towel from a previous occupant in our bathroom, but I understand that sometimes things are overlooked.
