Hyatt House Portland / Downtown

The king sized room was very comfortable. It had a nice kitchen and extra space for lounging. Overall, the room exceeded my expectations. I was attending a conference at the Marriott Waterfront and could have stayed there. I got a lot more room for my buck at the Hyatt House. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was not spectacular, but, given that it was included in the room rate, better than it could have been. The swimming pool was good for kids to splash around in, but, for someone looking to get in some laps, it's far too short and far too thin if anyone else is in there with you. The room was over-perfumed. Even after airing out the room on multiple occasions, it was difficult to get rid of the fragrance. At least there are worse smells.

Nice, well-appointed extended stay suite with a city view. Friendly staff. Within a couple blocks of the Riverwalk that includes shops, restaurants,and gardens. Lots of breakfast choices. We used valet parking but there are parking garages and on street parking nearby.

The couches were a bit uncomfortable and, although being able to turn the TV around from living room to bedroom in the nook between the two rooms, not having a solid wall made it impractical, due to noise, to watch tv if the other person was sleeping. That would be expected in a standard hotel room but this was a suite..

We took the train down for a mini holiday. The staff were great, the breakfast each morning was good, Definitely better than we expected, The hotel itself and our room was very clean. The hotel is about 1 block from the Willamette River, which has a nice walkway . We rented the electric scooters, you can find anywhere around there and scootered around the river. That was alot of fun. The pool at the hotel was nice. It’s a dog friendly hotel too. All in all we have a nice experience at the Hyatt house and Portland. Yes there is homeless but sadly that’s everywhere now. The streetcars are easily accessible and routes are easy to follow on the map. If we go back to Portland we’d definitely stay at Hyatt House again. Also there are some good restaurants in the area. Definitely try Dough Zone (2 minute walk from the hotel) it’s delicious and affordable, you can take the family without breaking the bank!

Perfect for families, accommodations (except the parking fee) and staff. Family enjoyed the breakfast, lots of variety. This was our second time staying here.

Parking fee is too expensive, so we decided to park on the street to save money. The day we checked out we were surprised our rental got broken into and a window was smashed in. We parked down the street in front of the public restrooms, which is not far from hotel. What can I say it is Downtown, at night it can seem pretty sketchy.

The room was beautiful. Very pet friendly. Staff was very nice. Excellent bartender, great neighborhood close to the waterfront.

Pull up and unloading was difficult, vey minimal impacted pull up parking to unload. They have valet service thats $45/night but there is a parking garage across the street for half the cost. We asked for an upgrade to a "View" room through Booking, the hotel claimed they did not receive that info. The drinks at the bar were great and the bartender was on point, the food was bad.

When we started driving through a scary part of town... multiple underpasses with tent cities, condemned buildings etc my husband and I got nervous about what we had booked! Then, when we arrived, we couldn't see which building it was, or where to park etc so we called in and the super helpful gal that answered explained the valet parking or we could park in a public garage a block away. We chose valet and are so glad we did. once we got inside we were pleased to see the hotel was bright, clean and secure. Breakfast in the morning was good, nice selection of hot and cold foods. Staff was so nice and the valet was quick. Within 10 minutes each time we needed our car, easy text pick up.

There was a cute kitchenette in our room, which was nice, but the first dish I grabbed to use was dirty and the countertop was dirty so I chose not to utilize that portion of our room, I feel like maybe the housekeeper just didn't get a chance to finish because everything else was spotless. All in all, I've stayed at a lot of worse places and even with those hiccups would stay here again.

I liked the size of the suite, the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet. Breakfast was very good, had a good variety of options. It was withing walking distance of dining and walking trails.

When I checked in, i couldn't use cash as a hold on the room. Also, there was no dedicated parking garage so you were forced to pay for valet parking. i ended up walking farther for cheaper parking. Lastly, it was difficult to find the hotel when arriving as the sign wasn't prominent among all the beautiful greenery.

Wow- I’ve stayed in many hotels for conferences but this hotel is so nice. Check in was quick this hotel is just classy right close to the river I was on the 5th floor and it was beautiful. I felt safe there all the amenities were superb even coming in at night the atmosphere was safe . I would highly recommend you stay here and for the price I was shocked I payed so little for a high end luxury hotel.

Parking was down the street for $25 or Valet for $50 plus

Hide a bed mattress was very old and flat. Could feel the support bar when laying on it. Had to purchase a foam mattress topper from costco for it to be sleepable. Also caused the couch to sink in the middle resulting in not being able to use couch for sitting multiple people. Rooms should.come equipped with a broom and dust pan to make it easier to keep room tidy.

One staff member was flustered and frustrated when we asked for toilet paper in our room at the front desk and was snappy. This was after we had asked for house keeping to restock and do a minimum sweep/vacuum after our 4th day being there. Housekeeping said they don't speak English and that our room was not on their list and would not be cleaning the room. This was very frustrating to me. As I've never had trouble with housekeeping in other places that I payed good money for. And upon our arrival the room had stale chips on the counter top with a sign stating it had been clean..
