Candlewood Suites - Chester - Philadelphia, an IHG Hotel

The staff were so accommodating. Anita, Crystal and Deshawn were so nice and accommodating to us. They extended their late checkout for us since our flight was so late in the evening and we were able to stay working in the business center until the complimentary Shuttle took us to the airport. We have a 5 month old and only stayed one night but were treated like family.

The neighborhood and surroundings were not nice. It's an industrial area and there is a state correctional facility a few blocks down. We wanted to go for a stroll with our baby and had to turn back because the abandoned buildings and surroundings felt unsafe.

The rooms are spacious. There is a table or extended counter to eat or work at. The Beds are always comfortable and as a long stay location everyone is courteous about keeping noise down for people to rest.

This was the first time it took a little time to check in. Usually, it is very quick. Not a problem with check-in just newer staff for this stay. If a slight delay at check in, when we were late getting in due to traffic, is the only issue I would stay here every time.

The breakfast was good. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, McDonald later that evening.

I did not like I was not offered a larger room when one came available. I made reservation for one of the room for 2 adults and one child, who is 13 years old and one of the adults slept in a chair 2 nights. It’s very uncomfortable to sleep in a chair after traveling so far. I called back and reserved another room for one night a few days later and the room was much larger and I felt it should have been offered to me. I would’ve of paid the extra money. The rooms didn’t smell fresh at all and the refrigerator was damaged on the inside. When I opened the door, the rubber piece felt out. Someone came up and repaired the refrigerator. We did not get fresh towels, and wash clothes and the tub was not an un-slipped tub.

Room was spacious, beds were extremely comfortable. Was not expecting the full size fridge, cooktop, toaster, & dishwasher. Was a pleasant surprise and we were able to enjoy our breakfast we brought back from a nearby Farmers market.

The people staying above us were very noisy, but it was ok. We had to ask for towels, but the front desk staff were incredibly gracious and accommodating.

Pet friendly, free laundry facilities, general store in the lobby very convenient to add to room costs, and nicely cleaned n quiet. Reasonable prices however secured deposit is rather steep considering that it's larger than the actual price paid for the room.

PARKING LOT very small and the over flow parking area is across the street from the hotel n doesn't look secure or safe. Additionally the security deposit for the room is larger than rental costs.

This was the night of the July 19 storm that closed the airport. When Booking.com booked us, but there was actually no space (Booking's fault, not Candlewood's), Grace, the night manager allowed us to have a place to land, rather than pay $50 on Uber to return again to the airport, where we would have had to sleep on the airport floor. She allowed us to wait in the lobby from 3 am to 5 am. At that point, someone had checked out, the room was cleaned, and we moved in. We had the room until we could take the Candlewood's free shuttle back to the airport at 5 pm. And, she significantly lowered the room price, after not charging us for the erroneous booking.com reservation.. What kindness.

The neighborhood is all right during the day, but there are no restaurants or stores around the hotel, and not safe to walk at night. OTOH, the hotel did have its own convenience store for food and sundries,

The room is very big, clean and comfortable. The laundry facilities are especially useful. Staff are helpful. We arrived near midnight and had a very quick and smooth check in.

There doesn't seem to be any place for breakfast within walking distance. Only disposable cups are available, producing a lot of plastic waste.

When we first arrived it was late night. The shower water was not draining properly,fridge smelled and the thermostat wouldn’t change to heat. The next morning I spoke to Michele and she was the BEST. She gave us a different room and everything else was perfect

not enough parking in front of the building. there is additional parking, but we weren’t informed until after the fact.

Didn't eat breakfast and location was close to Subaru Park. Beds were really comfortable, rooms were nice a big. I would recommend to anyone going to a Philadelphia Union game.
