beautiful property with plenty of charm. breakfast was delicious. we were helped upon arrival by a young man named Sam. we loved him. he was great. our stay was not without ghostly memories incidence. we stayed in the Welty House. we could here walking, laughing, furniture moving upstairs. we found out later that no one was staying up there. some people would love this encounter. we were a little freaked out but it’s to be expected when your staying in Gettysburg. over all nice get away and lovely bed and breakfast. Melonie was very nice and responsive upon our arrival.

Breakfast was awesome, more than just the standard continental fare. The rooms were quaint, comfortable, and clean with décor to match the location and the house's age. The innkeepers are nice folks, they meet you in person and welcome you to the inn. Snacks, coffee, and soda are available most of the day. The house itself is a lovely Victorian, with parking (a rarity in the city), and extremely close to the shops downtown, a mere block or two from Mr.G's ice cream, a number of restaurants, and a ton of local shops. The downtown circle is a mere 15 minute walk away.

If you have mobility problems, it would best be good to call ahead to see what accommodations could be made as the inn is an old Victorian, with the stairs to match. Parking likewise is down a brick path and hill, with quite a few stairs.

I can't say enough about both the location and breakfast! Every meal was excellent, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! As far as location, I don't believe it could be any better! Within walking distance to everything downtown and very close to the battlefield. We will be returning!

More ghosts? Lol. Honestly, I can't think of anything I would have changed!

We really liked the staff and the owners were wonderful people! Breakfast was outstanding every morning we were there! The location was perfect, we were right in the middle of the historic district of Gettysburg with easy access to all the museums.

When we arrived on Friday, the temperature outside was about 65°. By Saturday morning, we had 3 inches of snow & it remained cold until the day we left when it was back in the 60's!! LOL. Basically, there wasn't anything we didn't like!

Had a very nice stay. Breakfasts were wonderful (was offered dessert shoofly pie or brownie at breakfast). Ambiance of buildings and room was great. Location very good for access to Gettysburg battlefield park.

My travelling partner had ankle surgery a while back and is still recovering. She was concerned about the unevenness and stability of the brick pathways throughout the property as well as the absence of handrails for the stairs on the grounds.

The gardens were absolutely stunning! We enjoyed breakfast each morning surrounded by the serenity and beauty of the trees, flowers and even a water feature. We also loved the porches, where we could sit and catch a little breeze, and escape the heat of the day ( we visited in late June. Temperatures were near 90) Our hosts and the staff were quite helpful, giving us excellent suggestions for tours as well as modifying breakfast to accommodate some special needs we had.

Our room was on the third floor and the steps were just a bit challenging. However, we loved staying in a civil war era duplex and we were thrilled with the authenticity of the Inn.

The room was ice cold and the bed was good. We didn't Interact with any staff but the overall atmosphere was great. Would recommend.

We were out on the front swing and the front yard being the starting point for alot of tours. Random people walking through the property all the time and all doors being unlocked and kept us on guard when we just wanted to relax

The property was in a perfect location. We were greeted warmly by Melanie who walked us up (3 flights) to our room and explained everything throughly. Our room was perfectly decorated, the bed was comfortable and the bedding definitely kept out the chill. The heated baseboards in the bathroom were much appreciated. We eat gluten free and gluten free treats were left out for us in the evening and gluten free breakfast and toast were graciously provided.

Not a thing.

Nicely displayed. clean. Nice feeling. Could sense pride was taken with the care of it.

Bed was highly squeaky and uncomfortable. Didn’t have champagne welcome on first night so didn’t meet staff. Slight sewage smell on one day in bathroom. Window area could be cleaner (but nice to be able to open windows).

Brickhouse Inn is 2 mins walking from Cemetery Hill and about 10 mins to the square, so the location is ideal! Our room (the Virginia) was small (we wanted it that way) and had a double bed, and nice en suite with shower (and hair dryer). Everything is done in period style and is lovely. The grounds around the house were my favorite, with chairs to enjoy the beautiful flowers and plants that surround the house. Breakfast was super yummy (even included a taste of dessert at the end!). Would most definitely come here again!

Pedestal sink in the bath offers little room to juggle toiletries, mattress was a bit uncomfortable.
