Comfort Inn & Suites Pittsburgh-Northshore

This Comfort Inn was a newer hotel in an old neighborhood. It was clean and comfortable and within easy walking distance of Downtown Pittsburgh, which was nearby but across the beautiful old bridges. It was only .7 mile away from the strip district and only half a mile away from northside attractions like the Andy Warhol museum. There were also some restaurants, a pharmacy, a grocery store, and bakery nearby. Breakfast included yogurt, scrambled eggs, and bacon as well as toast and cereal. There was a coffee maker, microwave, hair dryer, and small refrigerator in the room. The staff was great, lending me a phone charger and giving restaurant recommendations.

We didn't have a problem. Some other comments mention the parking fee, but we've found we usually have to pay a parking fee at a city hotel, and $16 per day is a low price relative to other cities we've visited. You can avoid the parking fee by joining the comfort suites loyalty club.

Check In was very smooth. Chuck at front desk was very helpful giving info on the hotel and offering suggestions for dinner. I was somewhat surprised to learn he had no clue as to what the Hop On Hop Off bus was. We enjoyed the pool although there's no way it was heated as advertised. Room was clean and comfortable. Was walking distance to PNC Park where we were going to attend a Phillies/Pirates game.

Ran out of most food for breakfast on our 3rd day.

We really liked the location. The hotel was extremely easy to find, access, and the highway was very close. The hotel is very close to the city and in walking distance to the Strip District. The parking lot was convenient as well.

Our room was on the front side of the building and had excellent city views, however, the road noise at night was awful. The hotel is situated on a main intersection and it was very loud until about 2 am. Also, the room did not have black out curtains and the light from the street was very bright in our room.

The location was super convenient for my plans in Pittsburgh, which mostly involved the North Shore and Downtown. In addition, the room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable.

Signage. A sign announcing is is the Comfort Inn at street level on Ohio Street would be very helpful. As it is, depending on the approach one takes to the hotel, it is easy to pass right by it. (I don’t fault the hotel. It’s just strange corporate decided the only places the name would appear were way up above street level and a small, partially obstructed sign on a side street.

The shuttle service provided by the hotel was wonderful. I didn’t use my van until we left from the hotel to go home. When I told them I was interested in getting shuttle service to Pitt, the manager called my room and said that the driver was ready for us exactly when I needed to head there with my son... even earlier. They even let us check out late because we were gonna be at a college visit to Pitt.

The woman at the front desk couldn’t find my reservation when I tried to check in. But it was there all along. She just didn’t read. Then she sent us up to our room with no room number on the key packet. So I had to call the front desk to see which to see which room we were assigned to.

The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. We were there with a soccer team and they accommodated the group, keeping them (and the coaches) all on the same floor.

I did not sleep well. The traffic noise outside was horrible. The people in the room next to me were playing music until around 2 am (I did not complain because I was by myself and did not want to face "retribution"). There was a bit of confusion at check in with the 7 rooms we reserved and later on that night, somehow they "double booked" the coaches room. They had to get new key cards.

Wonderful location that is centrally located to many attractions. Rooftop deck has amazong views of downtown. Room was very clean. Hotel was more modern than I expected. Parking was easy. Beds were comfortable. Free breakfast also exceeded expectations - listed as continential but included scrambled eggs and sausage. Jimmy at the front desk is wonderful. He allowed us to check in a full 3 hours early, was able to switch our room to a fantastic view and made other recommendations that improved our stay. He is friendly, professional and goes out of his way to make your stay amazing. This is now where I plan to stay everytime I come to Pittsburgh. The location is superb (central to everything), parking is plentiful and the room was very clean with a lot of modern touches. Loved it and can't wait to come back

This was one of the best stays I've ever had. It exceeded every expectation. The hotel is super clean and neat. The rooms are spacious very clean. Beds are comfortable and warm. The bathroom was clean and the towels were of such good quality. Heck, even the toilet paper was of superior quality. If I'm in Pittsburg again, there is no doubt that I will be back again. Breakfast was included in the price I paid - It was very decent and again everything was so clean. There is a hotel transport service which I didn't use, but its great that they offer this facility.

Everything was great. Not often I say that, so this must tell you how impressed I was.

Did not get to breakfast but appreciated the offered service of courtesy shuttle to and from concert that was a huge plus

There was some lack of communication when being picked up from the concert. we were at the specified pick up site we were told to be( Isabella and Sandusky st)but driver ( who was different from who dropped us off) did not know where to find us. She was picking up guests at another site at the venue even after I told her specifically where we were. I had to call 4 times.( gave her plenty of time)Otherwise, everything was perfect

The staff was awesome, location was great and everything was exceptionally clean.

Check-in was a little confusing. You have to go around to the back entrance which I didn't initially know but they do have a sign up. Then the second automatic door didn't open for me because we had a late check-in, but I called Jimmy at the front desk (he's awesome!) and he opened it for me. All good.
