AC Hotel by Marriott Pittsburgh Downtown

Beds are comfy. Quiet hotel - not too big. Breakfast was good - healthy and portions were not massive/wasteful. Parking across street was easy. In/out of Pittsburgh was super easy - one/two stop lights to the highway.

All good really. Just note. walk to PNC Park is nice and a reasonable 15-20 mins. Perhaps a bit too long if you're out of shape or a person in your group has mobility issues, but otherwise no issues and a nice way to start/end the game. Not too much around hotel so great location if you want a smaller/quieter place to stay and you are ok to walk 10 mins to anything including downtown. I went with my teenage boys and 80+ dad and we were good, but my dad is in good shape and could handle it.

The property is conveniently located in the downtown area and near the river from of the south shore and in walking distance to the convention center. It is a newer hotel and very clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay for the most part.

The model is a modern one. the lobby is on the top floor and you have to ride an elevator up to it to check in. Just odd for my traditional senses. For the price you expect a very comfortable spacious room and it is to an extent. It was very well lit and had lots of plug ins etc and a very nice rainfall shower. That being said the mattress was unusually firm and very uncomfortable. it was the only real complaint from the wife and me. if you like sleeping on plywood it will be no issue.

Love the hotel overall. Clean and Modern.. 3rd time we've stayed here.

No parking. Very costly to park across the street and the prices went from $5-$15 daily. We were placed next door/below to a very very sick person. Coughed so bad day and night at all times. It was painful to listen to. They were obviously recovering there. This hotel should have been mindful of the possible disruption. And...bathroom shower was stained. Showing wear. Another person's clothes left in the drawer. Housekeeping could have been a bit more detailed.

The guest floors were controlled by the key card. It was a short and pleasant walk to the conference center. It’s possibly the quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

The lights were dim. Even with all the lights on. The coffee and tea supplies were not replenished before my stay, and it took several calls to clarify that it needed *everything* not just a couple coffee pods.

First time I have gone to the top floor of a hotel to check in at the lobby - a great view of Pittsburgh from that height.

More about parking in the description. I thought it was included in the price. It wasn’t. Parking lot very convenient next to the hotel - a bit awkward knowing how to unload baggage prior to checking in. Also not explained prior to the visit.

Super easy walk to the downtown restaurants and convention center. Clean and cool for coming back from a hot summers day. Well soundproofed and quiet at night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Not much was bad. There were many guests staying this weekend and the ice machine ran out that was about the only worrying thing. I spilled some chips and they were out of vacuums so i couldnt vacuum up the mess but it wasnt a big deal

Our room was totally clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everyone was super nice. It was a good location... very close to the convention center. It may actually be the nicest hotel we have every stayed in overall. :)

We didn't like having to share a microwave out in the hallway. (It was pretty nasty.) Also, the bathroom door was a sliding sheet of glass with a recessed pull that was difficult to grasp. It could be pretty dangerous if it slammed on your finger.

Pittsburgh is a great city with a great history and pride. They dont just knock down the old to build new. This hotel was in a great location if you want to use your feet. you can walk to the strip district, cultural district, take in a game (which we did), and good access to downtown. Great food within a mile. Try the Speckle Egg in the Union Trust Building (make reservations and its closed Monday and Tuesday) Great food and coffee. You can rent a scooter or bike pretty much any where.There are bike tours around the corner. Try the North Shore tavern and get a steak on a stone. Have fun, we did.

Nice modern property close to downtown and strip district. Not the clothes off kind of strip, but an area full of mom and pop restaurants and such. Hip and fun place. Visit (old) Wholeys grocery store, loads of fresh seafood for sale. Popular hot food cafe inside, to go only, line often ran out the door. My favorite one man sushi shop in the place, run by a funky chap named Andy. Near front door. Wholeys closes at 5 pm! 1711 Penn Avenue. Much new construction in the strip district, area is going through revitalization. Popular coffee shop footsteps from the hotel’s front door. Many restaurants in walking distance. Convention Ctr footsteps away. Nearby river bike path. Amtrak station is 2 blocks away. Paid parking across from hotel. No room service during COVID. Lobby is not on the bottom floor, but like on 6th floor, elevator button is “L”. I assume that was done for the window view, bar in the lobby area. Plenty of seating.

Toilet seat not secure, probably just my room. Paid parking is plentiful but confusing, to get in the lot you enter your credit card and get a ticket stub. Ticket stub is not used to get out of lot, gate just opens as you approach gate. Perhaps stub is just a receipt. $12 a day is the rate if I recall correctly. Hotel does not own parking lot.

The Staff was superb - very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel was spotless, the skills and work of the custodial staff were very evident judging from the room and common areas' cleanliness and maintenance. For infrequent travelers like me, there should be a printed guide on how to use some of their ultra-modern facilities - it took me some time to figure out how all the lights and showers. etc. worked - I am an old guy after all and these amenities, wonderful as they are can be somewhat daunting.
