Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown

Free parking and comfy couch in the room (our reasons for selecting this hotel); free coffee and fruit in the lobby; comfy bed; consistent water pressure and temp in the shower; quiet room, couldn't hear any talking/tv from neighboring rooms; good location, 10 min walk east to the Strip District and 10 min walk west to downtown and PNC Park. Our room (suite 500) had exceptionally rare duel aspect windows, so great view. Breakfast food options were typical but fresh and tasty.

Lots of seating in the lobby/breakfast area but it was tired and starting to look shabby. Some wobbly chairs, too. The whole area needs to be freshened up.

Room's size, condition, comfort and A/C; free parking; hot breakfast; fast elevators; location across from Heinz Museum and proximity to Strip District.

Coming from NY, where most people, even when fully vaccinated, wear masks indoors due to the highly-transmissible Delta variant, I was surprised and disheartened that most of the hotel staff and the majority of guests during our 4-night stay were mask-less in common areas. Trivial by comparison, but noteworthy, the shower temperature was inconsistent.

The room was very clean. Breakfast was really good. We were provided with scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, hot oatmeal and various cold choices also. There were also many hot and cold drinks available. Free parking is also a bonus.

I will remember to make sure I am never in room 207 again. It must be directly over some type of boiler room or mechanical room, because it vibrated the whole time we were there. It only stopped for various short intervals. Very annoying. When I asked the front desk, they were clueless as to what it could have been. Beds are comfy, but take your own pillows.

Breakfast was great. Location in proximity to Heinz field as well. Perfect walking distance to really enjoy the cityscape. Being able to check in later at night was also a plus.

Wish the room was a bit warmer upon arrival; however, I realize this was probably an energy saving measure, which is understandable. overall, no complaints!

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very nice. Breakfast was good. The layout for that was super convenient and spacious. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The front desk person, Shawna, was the best! We traveled with our 9 month old (which is already a task), and realized we didn’t have any soap to clean our baby’s bottles. There was not any dish soap at the amenities station, so my husband asked if there was any we could just use a little of. Shawna fixed us up a little bucket with soapy water and a sponge. It might not seem like a lot, but for parents traveling with an infant, it meant so much to us! Overall, everything made for a great stay.

Location was nice. I liked the secure parking that was provided free of charge. I asked for early check in and the lobby clerk called me as soon as my room was ready. The beds were super comfy. I liked the touch less key entry.

Our toilet stopped up. We informed the front desk about it when we left around 3pm for our event. I was told maintenance would fix the problem while we were out. Well, when we came back to our room after midnight the issue was still not fixed. I had to go back down to the lobby wait 15 minutes for the front desk clerk to get to the desk only to find out that maintenance was not even scheduled. She was really nice about it and we ended up just having to move our room. It sucked because we were all drinking and trying to gather all our belongings and move around 1am sucked. At least the night clerk moved us.

The staff were awesome! Welcoming, friendly, helpful without being obsequious or cloying, Lamont, Janie, and the rest of the Hampton Inn crew I met were professional and served guest needs with excellence, from front desk to housekeeping. The location was ideal for the conference I was attending, and also central to sporting, cultural, and dining venues. Great location, great staff, great service - thanks for an excellent stay!

That one of the two lifts wasn't working was a mild inconvenience but suppose something that could not be avoided.

Reasonable Hampton but starting to look a bit rough around the edges due to lack of maintenance in certain areas within rooms. Check in staff by far the most unprofessional I have ever encountered and display a complete lack of interest in customers. Breakfast below par for Hampton. The lack of room servicing other than for stays of 5 nights or longer is ridiculous and just a cost saving method using covid as an excuse.

Unprofessional and rude staff.

The employees behind the desk were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The breakfast was great. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Having a thermostat in the room was a good perk. We had just finished riding the Great Allegheny Passage and the room was large enough to comfortably accommodate our bicycles.

The bathtub was filled with water when we arrived - everything else, however, was very clean and clutter-free, so I think this was a simple oversight.

Cleanliness of the room!
