La Quinta by Wyndham York

The location was pretty handy for a local bar and diner, as well as several other amenities within walking distance 

There was one particular member of staff, who was particularly rude, I believe she was a cleaner with blonde hair and a slight limp limp.. she can often be found, sat outside smoking…. I don’t expect anything other than politeness,  she would stare and also ignore general pleasant, strange like good morning for example. She just needs to find another job. In my opinion, she’s clearly not happy with working with members of the public/customers. 

The breakfast is one of the best. The friendly and helpful hotel staff made our stay very pleasant. Check-in/Check-out is a breeze. The hotel is very clean.

1. The drive into the hotel area was marred by 2 massive potholes. That road is probably not part of the hotel complex, but it is not very inviting as it is the first thing you see as you approach the hotel entrance. 2. There were no doggy bags in the area for dogs to do their business, thus there was a lot of dog poop on that part of the lawn (we always bring our own scoop bags). 3. It is disappointing that $50 was charged for our little dog for a two day stay. That is a lot of money and I ask La Quinta to rethink this amount. If you must charge, $10-$15/day would be more reasonable. The Red Roof Inn does not charge a pet fee. We chose not to stay there in York, because that hotel was right downtown and let's face it, your hotel is superior.

The location was perfectly situated for ease access to multiple entertainment and food options, the room was very big and extremely comfortable, the staff were very friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was a really overall warm and welcoming one at that! Perfect for long stays even short ones too. If I'm ever in the York area again I will be staying here for sure! Plus price was very reasonable given everything and its location!

The only real complaint would be housekeeping could of been a bit more on top of things, and the pool was closed but I already knew that prior to booking due to renovations. So really? Nothing to complain about other than a bit of an improvement needed with housekeeping.

The property was clean. Thou the pool was under renovation while we were there, the amenities were great. The location was close to the venue where the dance competition was held which was the reason while we were there.

Since I’ve been at several hotels during the pandemic, I wasn’t aware housekeeping was an option during a two-day stay. Nor was I informed otherwise. I received a note from housekeeping that there were too many personal items on the bed to make it (i.e., two sweatshirts, a small backpack full of books, and a Squishmellow). I didn’t know that was a thing.

The bed was very soft and the pillows were like heaven it was really good. Been here before and hope to be back again as long as pricing is close to other good hotels nearby.

The only thing I didn't end up liking is they switched the time to leave it said on the door on the inside of your room you can leave by 12. But I got a call at 1130 that I had a late checkout. The staff fixed this for me but hope they get that fixed. The only bad thing that happened for 7 days.

the weekend we stayed there was no hot water. we were notified ahead of time, were told it would be fixed the day after we checked in, so since it was such short notice we chose to keep our reservation as we did not have time to find another place to stay. unfortunately, the hot water never was repaired during our entire 3 night stay 😞. would have appreciated some type of discount or credit for the major inconvenience!

The hotel and staff were great. I just wish guests would realize you really don't need to slam the doors. I think it's rude and inconsiderate. And it's always the ones that's in and out constantly. You're not the only one lodging and it's not your home. But the hotel itself is "Great."

Slamming doors

When my family and I walked into the hotel, the first impression was clean and it smelled wonderful. The receptionist greeted us right away and made friendly conversation with us. We wanted to check if we could do early check in and indeed our rooms were ready by 12:30pm. My family and I stayed in 2 separate rooms but we were literally 2 doors down from each other. The hotel was quiet and very comfortable. I loved the spacious rooms. I had a double queen room and my other family had a king suite. The microwave in the room was a major help. I loved the two entry ways to the hotel, the front and the back, which took us directly to the elevator.

The only thing I didn't like was house keeping came to our room at 10am on the Sunday we were checking out and tried to clean out the rooms. I do understand they were trying to get a head start, so others could check in but check out time is 12pm. I went to my other family room to help pack up and I tried to get back into my room, where they deactivated my room key. Again check out isn't until 12pm and it was only 11am. I even told the house keeper, we are still packing up and she asked me, you have 2 rooms. I told her yes and gave her the room number. There was no reason I should have been locked out. Especially because I still had some of personal belongings in my room. The other thing is the pool was still closed but I understand due to covid.

Nice large king room with comfortable bed. Shower water pressure was not good but bathroom was good size with plenty of towels and counter space. Lighting in rooms is rather dim. Got quiet nights sleep and had hot waffles for breakfast and Outback nearby for dinner. Not much to not like! I come to York on business travel every month for a few days. This is a good place for me as a solo female traveling alone. Parking is good. Nice front desk staff. Love to see the dogs staying there!

Excellent staff, clean and very comfortable beds. lovely hot breakfast. on site self laundry which was highly appreciated as we had a long stay. Convenient location, restaurants and shopping within 5 minutes drive, and it’s right by route 30 which connects you to wherever you need to go. Will certainly stay again when visiting York.
