Hampton Inn & Suites Charleston/Mt. Pleasant-Isle Of Palms

The hot breakfast, which they varied each day. The nice sized room with a separate bedroom for us. The kitchen suite, even though we ended up not cooking. The full-size fridge came in very handy. Friendly staff who were accommodating as able. Great location with some good food choices literally across the parking lot.

One dryer did not work. Thankfully, the front desk replaced all our lost coins. There was at least one group of families staying whose kids quite literally ran amuck, bumping into us in the hallway and creating a lot of noise. It would have been nice for a staff member to send them back to their parents when they disturbed other guests. However, the parents did usually reign them in before quiet hours, which was appreciated. The parking lot filled up, and we had to park in the strip center behind. Odd that their aren’t enough spaces for each room.

Staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast and wifi were fine. Maintenance went above and beyond making sure my heater worked well as there was an unusual cold spell while I stayed. All the receptionists were helpful in answering questions. The breakfast room ladies were super nice.

I do not like the housekeeping system that Hampton seems to have instituted. You must request any kind of cleaning in advance. It should be more automatic, at least every other day to empty the trash, etc. I presume this maybe has to do with problems of staffing. However, the room was perfectly clean when I arrived and the housekeeping staff is quite nice and readily provided toilet paper or anything else when asked.

The pillows and bed were amazing. Most of the staff was super friendly. Breakfast each morning was great. Location was perfect for traveling between the beach and downtown Charleston.

One of the nights we were there an rv pulling a car was taking up 6 parking spaces and we had to park in a retail area and walk over to the hotel. We were told that area is for overflow parking. We were told the rv pulling a car was parked there because they couldn't park in overflow or it would be towed. We checked the sign in the area and the sign said, "no tractor trailer parking" not to mention two other vehicles that were hauling trailers were parked in the overflow area over night near our vehicle. So it was a little frustrating.

the room was right next to the exit door ( 1st floor ) and all that was heard all night was the door slamming

Staff was very nice. Hotel clean, pool was ok, ...breakast for free was not bad. We looked around and found other places to eat the rest of our breakfast meals.

Here is my issue. We ended up driving to Savana Ga. I realized I forgot my shirts hanging in the closet. ( favorite shirts ). I called from Savana and explained what I had done. This was around 4-5 the next day. The gentleman said call back in the morning and they would check lost and found. I called....they said nothing was turned in. One was a nice linen, Here is my issue. #1 They couldn't check when I called? #2 So then you have someone who took the shirts, If you would have check when I called maybe this wouldn't be an issue.

This hotel works great for us. We like the location between Charleston and Isle of Palms. It’s convenient to many restaurants and a shopping center. For a relaxed stay we like the room with the kitchenette. It also works for us that housekeeping doesn’t come into our room and we can get towels and toiletries as needed. The rooms are perhaps a little dated, but that doesn’t prevent us from recommending it.

The breakfast is basic. The cereals and yogurts available were the sweetened varieties.

We have visited the Charleston area many, many times. I felt the hotel was way overpriced.

Rooms were ready, very clean, and comfortable. Staff was kind and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful, with a great assortment of options and was delicious! Wonderful experience!

The only thing I didn’t like was the Charleston temperature and humidity. Had a heatwave in the south (close to triple digits) the weekend we were there. The hotel is amazing, but the one they can’t control is the weather. 🙂.

The side of the bed closest to the nightstand was obviously slept in more as it seemed to sag there😦

The bed was comfy IF I moved to the middle😊 Unfortunately there was also a little excitement with a guest in 334 (next door to our room), with police being called...fortunately, the security guy (?staff) handled it well. Although the guest was not removed by that evening (of our first day), he was PEACEFULLY escorted out by hotel security the next day.😊
