Comfort Inn & Suites Walterboro I-95

We had an accessible room that met our needs very well. I might add that I would have preferred that the bed be lower, closer to chair height is more appropriate in an accessible room. I travel with a small step stool, and was able to get on the extra high bed. But all things considered, it was a good match, and the shower bench was less wobbly than the one we had in the same hotel several weeks before. We also appreciated the upgrading that appeared to be taking place in the hotel public areas.

Just that we would have preferred a lower bed height, and the orange juice served at the breakfast, on our return trip, had gone sour. The second issue was not a real problem for us.

Clean, looked decent, remodeling in progress, right off I 95 so convenient for quick overnight stay. Eateries close by.

Under remodeling, I could smell the glue they were using to replace wallpaper or baseboards or carpet. Workers still there after 6pm. Looked like replacing carpet and wallpaper, and same building, down the hall from our room. I have asthma and fumes sensitivities sicI was concerned about how the odors would travel into our room. Fortunately the ac was individual to each room and vented out, or rather, drawing air from outdoors.

Bed was sooo comfortable. All staff outstanding especially new overnight desk person who sweetly but firmly asked the partying people across the hall to tone it down. Breakfast staff and breakfast very good!!!

Not sure what you could do about it, but to hire a nighttime security person maybe but I’m pretty sure the “ party” across the hall involved prostitution and maybe drugs, alcohol. Different men in and out of the room for 12 hours and then, they wandered around the property at night. No harm was done. Just a lot of noise.

the hotel is located very conveniently to I95 we were traveling home ahead of Hurricane Ian and were so pleased to find a reasonably priced room in a great hotel. we checked in at 9 pm and the reception was pleasant and helpful. we had a two bed Queen and the room was huge with desk, chair and two beds and good sized fridge. The bathroom was modern and very clean as was the room. it was also very quiet. we had never stayed in a Comfort Inn before but if this an example we will definitely do so again. the breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold choices, also very clean, well presented and pleasant staff. one of the best value and comfortable rooms we stayed in on our two week road trip!

For the most part breakfast was great. The diningroom was too small. So many came at that time some were eating in the lobby. Meka the manager was wonderful. She was so helpful. We told her we will be back same time next year for our family reunion that was in a smaller town close by.

The scrambled eggs and orange juice. The only real problem was the rooms really had a musty/ mildewy smell. I am sure due to a lot of rain and major humidity. The room ac unit needs dehumidifier. Otherwise the rooms were very clean. We shared this with Meka realizing it was out of her control.

Since I was at the Comfort Inn for a 4 day bicycling event, the breakfast was VERY important to prepare for our long rides. The Breakfast area opened on time, the food was hot and plentiful, there was a wide variety for many types of eaters, and coffee was available early! Thank you!!

The area around the hotel wasn't too pretty with the closed and abandoned restaurants nearby. I wish the hotel was a bit closer to the downtown area, but it still wasn't too far. Maybe have the town help clean up the closed businesses to make it more attractive in that area.

Room size was great. It looks like they have been updating the facility. We liked that the room had a fridge and microwave.

The only thing I had from the breakfast selection was coffee and it was extremely weak and had no taste. Carpeting was being replaced in the hall. It would have been nice to know remodeling was going on before our stay. (Maybe a discount for the condition of the hall)

common areas needed updating & some decoration, driveways & parking areas needed repaving. staff need to dress so as to be easily recognized as staff and have name badges (a little more upscale appearance) adds to overall presentation, smiles help too. Having been front desk myself, I look for what I found really helped clients & customers.

Clean and cool rooms. Quiet throughout the night.

The room's toilet would not flush down toilet paper. We tried to flush it twice and nothing happened. We called for assistance. They responded by knocking on the door and left a plunger outside the door. No one was there to offer assistance. That left me to plunge the toilet myself . We were VERY disappointed with this. I could have stayed at a Motel 8 for that kind of service, which was none.

Other than the ice machine on the first floor not working and the elevator being out of order it was great. I asked the lady doing the breakfast if I could get ice from her (there was ice in the water that was being served to the customers) and she told me that she didn't have ice available in the kitchen. She was not aware that the ice machine was down. Confused as to where she got her ice.

What I said above. I am slightly handicapped and have a hard time going up steps. Never got any ice.
