Hampton Inn & Suites Walterboro

The property was right off the highway so it was extremely accessible. The accommodations were very clean and extremely comfy. Staff was very friendly.

It is a little pricey. The room was mostly accessible; just constructive criticism… if you need any kind of support to lift yourself in the restroom… there was not a place for that… the counter had a movable piece that would not be good for support. Unfortunately the pool was closed when we were there but u also did not call ahead to verify. As we were passing through… not an issue. All in all an amazing and comfortable stay. We really enjoyed our stay!!

We very much liked the breakfast, the room, and bed. The staff was excellent- very friendly and extremely helpful - front desk to breakfast staff to cleaning crew. Mikayla from the front desk responded immediately when we had a couple of small issues. She went above and beyond to promptly and cheerfully help us with a battery change in our door lock and a TV issue.

Even after being helped our room refrigerator did not work at all. Since we were traveling it would have been most helpful to be able to chill our car drinks.

It was exactly as expected, two queen beds no visible bed bugs, working AC, quiet, nice selection of snacks in the lobby, breakfast spread was good. All the usual things you'd expect from the Hampton Inn line of hotels.

The top floor room carpet felt damp, perhaps from humidity, but not moldy. The sheets and towels didn't smell especially clean. We are not fans of the rolling door for the closet/bathroom. It is heavy and not very private for using the bathroom. I'd rather an open/no door closet and regular door to the bathroom.

The location was very close to the freeway, which made it easy to access. The room was very large, the bathroom was very large. The TV was very large. There was a pleasant view out our window (it's an empty field, but it wasn't the parking lot). The room was very dark because of a good shade over the window. The gym was beautifully equipped and maintained.

The room was really cold when we came in so we turned off the air conditioning and then everything felt sticky-the carpet, the bed, the couch, everything. The breakfast was ok but I have a dairy allergy and there was virtually nothing I could eat. There was a constant sound of traffic from I-95 all night long.

The place looked brand new. We were surprised to find out it was 4 years old. Everything was spotless. The staff were so friendly from check in to breakfast. Elevators clean. Carpet in halls clean. This is the best Hampton we have stayed at and we have stayed everywhere from Vancouver to Jackson Hole. I even asked the checkout person to let the manager know how nice it was.

The front desk staff seems depleted I get it. Tho it was very interesting that she had a big smile for two white pilots but then a frowning face for me. Maybe I am an Asian, or maybe I am just flat-out ugly. Or maybe it has to do with the national wide Blacks randomly attacks Asians. I don't know. I know I should not speculate but then I did have questions. I know I should not complain just based on the facial expression but somehow I feel just very different from those two pilots.

The breakfast was on par with other comparable hotels. Definitely not any better.

In regard to above, I did not ask about free parking at this hotel. I asked for a top floor room away from venting. They did not have that request, but did have what I wanted available, so I was able to get what I wanted. This was also the issue at Fairfield Inn in Jacksonville Beach.

The whole hotel was very nice. It was clean and roomy, the breakfast was very good. Our room very was modern. The only problem we had was the mattress was too hard. I woke up with a back ache. I would stay again.

I did not eat breakfast. The location works for me since it is a half way point to my destination.

The lighting. This was my second visit to this hotel and the lighting in the rooms need brighter bulbs. My room had two lamps by the bed, one on the desk, one by the sofa and even with all of them on it was still not bright enough to read.

The staff is fabulous- so friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Quick free breakfast before hitting the road.
