Comfort Inn & Suites Hotel in the Black Hills

Nice rooms, good breakfast and the staff brought my newly wed husband and I some champagne and glasses when they found out we just got married that day.

Feels too far out of town and the king bed we had wasn’t very comfortable. Felt like a piece of hard cardboard. Also when we arrived our room was 76 and we turned the heat off and turned the air on but hot air continued to blow but the rest of our families rooms were ice cold some getting down to 50 degrees!

I accidentally booked a king room for 5 days that was handicapped accessible. It was kinda small and the wind whistled in the window. After 3 days I explained to the front desk about the mix up. They were kind enough to move me next door to a larger room. Made the last two days much more pleasant. Staff was excellent and hard working. Especially enjoyed early morning talks with Sara beings I'm an early riser. Place was clean with an excellent breakfast and fresh coffee 24/7. Would definitely stay again. Thank you, D. Hintz

It would have been better had I not accidentally booked a handicapped room. Totally my fault. But they got me into a larger room after asking. 🥰

The staff are INCREDIBLE! Brooke is such an amazing representative! So friendly, helpful and made us so comfortable and welcomed! Turner is a rockstar and Roger in maintenance was so friendly.We came from Iowa for our visit but talking and interacting with the staff was like they had known us forever. Such a great experience, we will be back!!!! Clean comfortable rooms, wifi is great and breakfast is sooooooo good!!!!!

Nothing. Not one bad experience

Such a great nice hotel!! The rooms were nice & clean. There was a big lobby to sit in & a cute bar area with food & some slots, billiard room, game room, pool area, fitness center, laundry, gift shoppe, mini golf. A complimentary hot breakfast was available every day. There was a that shuttle to the downtown area which was only about a mile for only $2 a ride. The staff was very nice!!

Location of the pool and hot tub, adequate breakfast choices, access to filtered water in the lobby in the evening, laundry onsite, ease of temperature room controls, room in the back of the hotel for less noise, elevator, room exits to hallway instead of directly outside.

A spider but this happened in two other hotels in South Dakota. Would like to have had filtered water available during the day.

Super friendly and accomdating staff, good breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Nice location, far enough away from downtown Deadwood that it was quiet. Short trolley ride when we wanted to explore downtown Deadwood. Will stay here again when we're back in the area.

The only thing that I had an issue with was the first night we were there there were some kids unsupervised in the pool/hot tub that were being a bit unruly.

Staff was fantastic. Room was good. Location and amenities were good. Price was good, although it was frustrating to learn that I could have saved $75 by booking through the hotel AND NOT booking.com.

Coffee machine in room was dirty, but coffee is always available in lobby, which was close by. TV in room was not fantastic. See booking.com issue above.

The rooms were large and comfortable. I miss the daily housekeeping, but understand the new normal. Breakfast was great and location was great to visit the sites we planned to visit on the trip. Nephew enjoyed the mini golf.

We were located above the entry way, and the windows are not well insulated so you could hear people talking and road noise all night.

This was our second stay at the Comfort Inn in Deadwood and it was just as much of a pleasure as the first time we had been there 2 years prior.- Room was clean and comfortable, enjoyed having the option to go down and enjoy a cocktail at the bar and mini golf was fun as well. Having the trolley was a bonus. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Was looking forward to getting the welcome duck as we had at our last stay ( it was such a FUN surprise) - Also being on the first floor, we unfortunately had quite "active" occupants above us - next time will know to ask for room on 2nd or 3rd floor. Missed the breakfast array, but realize that is the fault of COVID. Might suggest mixing things up a bit - like offering cold cereal in boxes somedays - same things for a week did get old.

The location was beautiful. Great view, wonderful being able to sit outside and listen to the stream, and sounds of nature.

I was disappointed that the breakfast was not serving more than a pick up at the desk, and then what I did pick up was not correct: but didn't find out until I got back to the room. It took so long to put the stuff in the bag that I was sure that it was cooked, got up to the room and had frozen breakfast burritos, not omelets. I have a gluten allergy so didn't get anything for breakfast as by the time I got back to the room, the desk was done serving.
