Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Rapid City, SD

Our room was very comfortable. The shower was very good. The king size bed was great. The room was very spacious. Enjoyed the cookies that were freshly baked in the late afternoon. It was walking distance to the mall and some restaurants which made it very convenient.

The breakfast offerings were pretty poor. The waffle maker dispenser was not operational one day. The pastry case only had white and wheat bread. Would have liked some muffins, bagels, danish pastries. The only available fruit were tiny apples. Would have liked some variety including bananas and oranges.

Very impressed for the price, you literally could NOT get a room in Rapid City when I checked in, think there were 5 families trying to book and the lady said typical for this time of year, June/July in Rapid City is A ZOO!!!!!!!! Not one room left in this hotel when I stayed. STAFF 10, AMENITIES 10, CLEANLINESS 10, Very very pleasant stay. I think it is just vacation land at this time, I was just there for a sleep over and work, so I got lucky. VERY nicely priced compared to other hotels not as good which were several hundred dollars more PER NIGHT!!!!!!

They provided a room away from pool/noise which I appreciated. The pool/slide is a big draw for families and I understand how wonderful it could be when traveling with children. The breakfast was very complete. They thought of the little details (for a simple incl. buffet) like honey, cinnamon, warm syrup… My room was spotless. It had all the amenities I required and more: safe, refrigerators, hair dryer, shampoo/cond/lotion. Plenty of spotless/attractively folded towels. There were four pillows—great for various sleeping positions, supporting ones neck, etc. Free water bottles at front desk, cookies, coffee/tea 24/7. And, there was a small but amazingly comprehensive 'short wall' of amenities for sale when in a pinch, i.e. batteries, basic meds, emery board, snacks, microwave, soft beverages. Oh, and next door, guest are offered a discount at the good Mexican restaurant. An outdoor mall with theater is EZ walking distance.

Signs should be put up at the exit door from pool—in large RED LETTERS: "Please Dry Off Before Entering The Lobby Thank You!" I was amazed how many parents didn't have the common sense to make their children do so before entering the lobby/elevators. What a mess some of them made, creating a hazard for others.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We got to our room and were greeted with a congratulatory card and honeymoon "treats ". Beds were super comfy and room was clean and spacious! Our fridge/cooler did not work. We had a new one within an hour with the offer to change rooms. No need to we were happy. Every staff member we encountered was very helpful and friendly. We were so happy we picked this hotel for our honeymoon

I'll be a repeat guest for sure! Great staff, wonderful beds and very clean comfortable room, free cookies at the front desk to grab then a work out in their updated and well equipped gym to burn off the calories. There's a beautiful pool that I didn't get a chance to take a dip in, but did take in a meal at the restaurant right next door that serves Mexican fare and has a busy well stocked cantina. The location is close to shopping, restaurants and movies too! Plus, the rates are some of the most reasonable in town!

As the room came with breakfast the options were very limited day by day. They either offered scrambled eggs and sausage as a hot item or biscuits and gravy. That was it. You could make a waffle if that is something that you desire. Apples were the only fruit available along with dry cereal and toast. The other part that was a little bit frustrating was the drain in the shower and sink were a bit slow. Shower chose its own time to drain, but if you new to step on the drain panel it would start right back up again. The sink just filled up and slowly drained. Nothing I did to try to fix it would remedy it. But did mention it to the front desk.

We were not able to have the abundant breakfast offered because of an early departure, but the desk attendant made sure we were provided with coffee, fruit and danish to carry with us an hour before breakfast was served. The lobby was beautifully dressed for Xmas and there was a warm fire burning in the fireplace to allow us to warm up from the below zero temperature outside. The room had the heat, a light and tv on, which is much more welcoming then opening the door to a cold, dark room and having to search for the light switch. The bed was so comfortable and the room so quiet, that it felt like we were the only people in the hotel, even tho the parking lot was full. The room amenities, coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator were used and appreciated. Even the bathroom was beautiful. Although there are many hotels nearby, we will make this one our "go-to" place when we are in this city.

We were not there long enough to use the warm pool, with waterslide, while watching the snow fall . Otherwise, I had no complaints. When we arrived at our destination, Costa Rica, I was surprised and saddened to see a Country Inn and Suites by Radisson airport shuttle pass us by, because we did not choose to use that hotel for our stay.

We thought the actual property and rooms were exceptionally good.

We thought the breakfast was very poor. Apart from cereal, porridge, toast, waffles and biscuits and white gravy, there was not any fruit, other than an apple, no bakery items, muffins etc., or bagels or eggs etc. We do not like biscuits and gravy. Not even going to tackle the waffle machine. It would have been nice to put a banana on my cereal. It would have been nice to have a muffin or bagel instead of toast. The coffee was not in the breakfast room, it was in the front lounge of the hotel, which was a slight inconvenience having to find it.

What I liked most was the size of the room. It was very big and with a lot of space for suitcases. It is divided into a sitting room, a bathroom and then a main room. Location is very convenient for the airport, Mount Rushmore and other nearby landmarks. Free parking lot is also an advantage.

An engine in the bathroom makes noise all night, making it difficult to sleep, even if you close the door. Breakfast space is too small for so many guests, which means having to wait in line for a minimum of 20 minutes. They can't have half the space than number of guests. They should solve this problem as soon as possible.

Clean, fair accessibility. Morning front desk offered advice about where to go for wheel chair accessible outdoor activities.

Now shower seat or roll in shower for wheel chair accessibility. Was stressed when evening front desk called and told my room would be given away if I didn’t fix the card error immediately. I was driving and the anxiety was crazy. I needed the accessible room and then he couldn’t take a shower anyway…
