Candlewood Suites - Austin Airport, an IHG Hotel

Reception staff really friendly and happy. Helpful in our questions and organising the airport shuttle when we needed it. Room was clean, kitchenette was really useful and the fridge/freezer with ice maker was just what we needed.

They only came once to change towels, except when I had asked them to refill the shower gel. The neighbour was very noisy three nights in a row (3am and 4am), but the noise stopped shortly after calling front desk each night. On the morning after the third complaint, however, we asked if we could take the complaint further and never heard a single noise for the remainder of our stay. Cannot fault the staff but it was a problem during my stay.

The bed and pillows were excellent. Sleep was so good.

Pricing of snacks was too expensive.

You have to walk across the parking lot for all the restaurants, bar and breakfast facilities. Depending on the weather, this may or may not be a pleasant experience. The sister hotel “Holiday Inn” across the parking lot is where to stay, apparently.

Excellent customer svc from night auditor! Helpful when asking where to park a moving truck with trailer for the night to avoid towing. Indoor common areas were immaculate! The room accomodations exceptionally exceeded my initial expectations! Plenty of towels for 4 people staying overnight. Found a new shampoo, conditioner, body wash & lotion to purchase after utilitizing the hotel provided resources. J.R. Watkins - Aloe & Green Tea collection line! Loved the scent and was a nice touch! Well Done!

Only improvement I could say would be the remote for the TV. Being a tech savvy person, I found it odd the guide didn't work on the remote it was programmed to. Manually going through each channel was a bummer, but I ended up turning it off & got some shut-eye instead. Not a big deal for me, as I was leaving in the early AM anyways. Might be an issue for a different kind of clientele though.

Room was clean. The hotel smelled nice.

The "onsite" pool is at the Holiday Inn next door. It's uncomfortable to walk across the parking lot in your suit. You get looked down upon when you have to ask permission to enter the pool. Also, the A/C didn't go below 68 and the room felt stuffy. The fan in the bathroom didn't work well either so that made it even stuffier in the small room.

Very happy with the overall place. Only complaint need thicker windows to drown out the freeway noise.

Customer service. Both counter people acted like I was bothering them when I went to the front counter.

Poor communication. Booked for airport shuttle service, then informed it was unavailable, then front desk says it was after we rented a car. Said there was free breakfast, then there wasn't!

They had everything needed (available) for the long stay. So thankful for the staff and how they were determined to help out with whatever they could, the long hours they put in during the crazy winter storm in Austin, Texas. I couldn't have made it to work everyday without each and every one of them.

I was not sure how long I would have to stay and only booked on wishful thinking! The prices went up every day, and I paid for the room not work.

They don’t offer breakfast but plenty of food nearby. 24 hour decaf coffee was great. Location SE of Austin and near the airport was great. Full fridge and microwave great. Laundry and gym!

The air con didn’t work well. I was brought a fan that helped.

Moved to New Holiday Inn across parking lot by manager, must have over booked.

Not sure why we were swapped by manager but still ended up in the very nice Holiday Inn at same price. Probably turned out better.
