Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Marcos

I booked in a rush and then when I had time I was reading the reviews and they weren't good. So I was expecting a stinky crap room. Well that wasn't the case. It was actually a good room. They had the air on and it was clean. No smell and worth the price! Staff was not very talkative, but that's ok. Breakfast was grab bags of chocolate donuts, granola bars, danish, and coffee or Oj.

Looks like some remodeling may be going on, by the looks in the bathroom, but that's not a prob.

I liked that it was nice and quite and the location was perfect since it is right down the street from work and easy to get to. The staff is amazing they go above and beyond!

Only thing I didn't like was my key cards wouldn't work to open the outside building door unless we aggressively swiped the cards multiple times. Just kind of sucks when its cold outside a day your holding your luggage or food and your just standing there fiddling with the door until it works other than i enjoyed my stay!.

Great location! Across I-35 from the Tanger Outlets and within walking distances of all sorts of delicious restaurants. Nicely decorated room, inviting indoor pool, comfortable bed, cool AC, hot coffee and bag continental breakfast in the mornings. When we stayed, they were still renovating nicely.

All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. My stay was wonderful.

The breakfast. While I understand the COVID restrictions, the guests could have been offered a banana or orange, a yogurt cup, a bottled juice or water. We only got a hostess danish, a very small square hostess coffee cake and a Nature Valley bar!

The beds were very cozy, and the showers were nice, clean, and had wonderful pressure.

My one and only complaint was that the microwave in the room was a little iffy. However it did not interrupt my stay or make it any less pleasant.

The second night an older woman worked up front. She was amazing. We had trouble with our car and she helped by asking if anyone could help us. She made our tough situation better. As we were stranded she even gave us a room a little early. A gentleman worked the morning shift he even offered to help. The rooms were very clean and felt safe. The indoor pool was amazing!

The first night we checked in the young girl was rude and was not wearing her mask. We were told there was no smoking but we smelled smoke going down the hall. Was not aware no elevators.

there seemed to have been an AC leak in the ceiling and their was mold growing on the ceiling tiles in the hallway. the AC unit in the room was old and rusted & it didn’t cool very well.

housekeeping cleaned room everyday, beds were very comfortable.

breakfast was to go only, and it wasn't good . fridge was falling apart almost, and restroom door made too much noise at night.

The things I liked most were the location and how quiet it was. I’ve stay here a couple of times and it’s been quiet both times. The other thing I liked was the staff. Always super friendly and attentive.

The only thing I didn’t like was the pillows. So next time I can just bring my own. But I am picky when it comes to pillows.

The breakfast is in a bag. This is an older hotel, but worth it to me. The pool is great, it just isn't heated. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. I don't need anything fancy when I'm just staying there to sleep.
