Wingate by Wyndham San Marcos

The property was very clean and smelled very good! The breakfast was awesome! The employees were very nice and polite.

The property needs more parking spaces or make the trucks pull around to the back somewhere. We came in on Tuesday evening and no parking spots. A truck was pulled in about 8 spaces in front of the building that could’ve let other customers park. I mentioned to the desk clerk and he told me that it happens. I feel that the trucks need to park else where behind the building.

Really good experience since the moment I steeped into the hotel. Staff was friendly and service minded. Staff did everything to make our stay great. The rooms and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was clean as well. Really nice environment, eye contact from staff and a big smile when you pass through front desk.

I think it’s important to provide feedback. I hope my comments helps to provide a better experience. Breakfast could be a bit better. When rush hour, there was a long line to get breakfast. Probably some extra waffle makers could reduce the waiting time. Some fruit would be great as well for the people that is not very happy of carbs.

The room was very nice. The beds were so comfortable. I slept with no hip pain, which most mattresses give me.The staff was very helpful and very kind. They took care of all our needs. Close to everything. Great value for our money. It was a peaceful place to stay.

The detergent the hotel uses did not agree with my skin. I broke out in red spots and blotches. I have never had that happen in any other place we have ever stayed. Or it could be the mattress. I don't know. That was the only thing that I was disappointed about. Rash cleared up after we got home.

Breakfast was clean and stocked. Staff was always helpful. Lots of parking. I liked that the windows opened to let in fresh air. Fridge and microwave worked well. Coffee actually tasted good.

Room itself was in need of paint. Desk and other furniture needed to be moved for a thorough vacuum. Carpet baseboards are nice but trap debris all around. Property exterior side doors didn't latch. I had problems with my door lock, went through 8 keycards in less than 24 hours, but maintenance promptly replaced the unit on my door.

I 💘the breakfast and the room was nice

You need to put a hook for hanging long dresses maybe put one behind the entrance door or by the restroom or close where u put the luggage. Anyway we had 2 long dresses and we couldn't hang them inside the closet we hung them on the headboard.

While hotel needs refreshing, the room was large, clean and the bed was the most comfortable I've slept in, even in much fancier hotels. Friendly staff. Little shop with amenities at the front desk was very convenient.

Hotel decor is tired and needs refreshing. The breakfast was fairly low quality (e.g. powdered eggs, watery juice from machine), but balanced by cool make your own waffle machine and lots of sweet treats. Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils a bit disappointing in this day and age with climate to consider--who is still using styrofoam?!!!

The property is older but not run down. It is very clean. Friendly staff. The free breakfast was better than expected. Rooms are cleaned by request only, so you don't have to worry about the staff waking you up, which I liked for a 2-night stay.

It is a little tricky to get to the hotel due to some ongoing road construction on the freeway frontage road. Not the hotel's fault, but something to be aware of.

Very nice and friendly staff. Very clean The 3rd floor was cool and quiet. They honored my request to have the rooms side by side. The breakfast was good. Beds comfortable. Ice machine and washer and dryer on every floor.

Beds creaked a bit. People at the pool loud at midnight. Pool closes at 10 pm but as long as they are quiet they are allowed to stay longer. That's good if they are quiet. I called the front desk 3 times. People still at pool. Door to bathroom too close to toilet. They really need a pocket door for the bathroom.

I booked through booking.com and they charged more than the booking price. Very secretive about bill during check out. Wednesday night was a little more than stared price but should have been $101 per night and Thursday they charged $134 for the night. Was not pleased with their deceipt.
