Colonial Motel and Spa

This is an older hotel, more like a motel. I was familiar with it as I lived in town for many years so my expectations were realistic. I wasn’t pleased with the location of my first room and the clerk gladly changed my room to the second floor near the pools. The two indoor salt water pools and hot tub were the highlight of my stay. I was able to enjoy them with my grandson and his partner but because it’s not actually under the auspices of the hotel, I had to pay $20 for additional guest. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There is a refrigerator and decent TV. A balcony on the second overlooked the property. I recommend asking for a second floor room, near the pool as that’s towards the rear of the property and a better location.

I went for coffee and light breakfast at 8:30 and the office door was locked. There was a phone number to call and the owner who lives on site came right over and was apologetic. Apparently the morning staff didn’t show. I had to wait for the large coffee pot to brew, although there’s a little coffee maker in the room. Not tragic, just annoying. Breakfast was minimal; buy some food at the grocery store across the street if you’d like more than toast and over ripe bananas in the morning.

Great pools and hot tub, comfortable room. Sabrina in reception was incredibly helpful and kind!

Settled a little over a mile away from downtown Brattleboro, the Colonial is perfectly accessible if you have a car. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was attentive. The pools are heavenly.

When I arrived in my room, the smoke detector was chirping and saying “low battery.” I called the front desk and the receptionist said he would take care of it. An hour or so later as I was heading out for an evening on the town, I stopped by the front desk to ask again. He reassured me he would take care of me, and when I returned a bit later, it was fixed.

Very large, well maintained room for the price. The bed was very comfortable. This is one of the few hotels in Vermont with an indoor pool. That the pool is large enough to swim laps is a bonus.

Learning that evening pool hours were being curtailed. Breakfast is supposed to run to 9:30, but there is often nothing left by 8 AM. Most of the channels on the cable system are blocked. The "call Xfinity now to access this channel" messages were annoying. The unsecured WiFi made streaming access and connecting to some websites I needed to access during my stay difficult.

The pool is very good, the staff and reception very friendly, the room was reasonably clean, the breakfast was okay and the pool was nice.

We found a cigarette butt on the carpet, which indicates they could vaccum better. One area of the motel seems to be for permanent or long term occupant. The people all hand outside of their rooms with the doors open and from all of their belongings it is clear they are not there for the weekend. We saw a group of people working on a car. Then one rude man told me that they have reserved parking in that side of the building, but the manager told me that I can park anyplace. However, I moved my car anyway to prevent damages to my car.

Rooms were big, refrigerators were huge the pool was huge. People were very friendly, continental breakfast you are not told that you're able to go and sit down and work states you're not allowed. It is dog friendly and I love my dogs

The fact that my daughters myself and my husband had to show our covid shots that we received them. Covid is over there's no need for that so my girls couldn't go swimming because it's not like I carry something like that around

Nice place to stay - Breakfast was Good - Staff Good - Could not use pool - Did not know about having to have vacine card - Not told this - Staff member was Rude.

Raj greeted us at the front desk and was extremely friendly and accommodating. We asked if it would be possible to be placed closer to our friends who were staying in another room and he upgraded our room to make this possible! He was very informative and a joy to interact with. LOVE the free coffee that is available all day and the breakfast was great too. The pool was very dreamy. Felt like swimming in a greenhouse. Unlike any hotel/motel pool I have ever been to. An excellent deal.

Room/bathroom could use a deep clean and bed could have been a bit comfier. But no major complaints.

The facility is well maintained consisting of 4 buildings. I stayed in the one nearest to the building of the indoor pools. My room was clean, equipped with furniture in smart designs, spacious with a big window offering a nice view of the facility. Two indoor pools were the best in my experience of staying in this range of budge hotels. It can be said as the pools for swimmers. The surroundings are also wonderful. Going down south on the road led me a beautiful drive for scenic views. (After the day, I drove move and stayed in another wonderful hotel in Franconia NH, about which I posted my review via the third party survey. There, I wrongly stated Rt number as 16 that should be 112. Why I mention this here? Because I am now careful about Rt numbers)

There might have been special hours for the pool facility operation. Although the general info says the pool is open all day Sundays, the day when I arrived (Sunday) had a different schedule and closed it at 2pm. This was a disappointment, especially because the pools are truly fantastic, great to swim, and very very well maintained by the hotel personnel.

Rooms were very large and clean, Staff was friendly, Actually had Breakfast Cereal, French toast sticks, Hash, sausage, Bagels, Coffee. big plus as most are using Covid-19 as a reason not to have Breakfast. Clean pleasant area to sit and eat also

Water for shower could have been warmer but have had worse (probably was set at code temp but we like it warmer), Bed was a little hard for our taste but that's to each his own some would love it. WiFi no password...Not sure why I used it. Facebook was hacked while there.
