Comfort Inn Ballston

I like that the location offered shuttle bus services to metro at certain hours, and if you miss the bus, it’s just an easy 10 minute walk. I also like that they offer complimentary lemon infused water, tea, coffee, or hot chocolate at the front. I’ve stayed at a few Comfort Inns, and I’m a fan of their complimentary breakfast, but this location seemed to have more options than what I’m used to. My friend is a vegetarian and I don’t eat pork, so we were psyched that they had cheese omelettes instead of the usual sad thin piece of egg with sausage. There was also waffles (regular AND strawberry batter), wheat bread, fruit, muffins, donut danishes, oatmeal, yogurt, and cereal. So worth the stay. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that they have microwaves in the rooms and in the dining area.

The elevators are ancient. They take so long to move, the doors open and close randomly (and slowly), and they shake so much. I was so scared of getting stuck in there. Also, the hotel is shaped like a half-circle, so RIP if your room is far from the elevators. It felt like we walked half a mile to get to our room all the way on the end. The parking situation is annoying. There are a limited amount of parking spaces, and half of them have people who park over their line which leaves little to no room for the vacant spots next to them. The room I got said it had a scenic view of the garden or courtyard, but that’s a lie. That “courtyard view” is just overlooking the annoying parking lot I mentioned before.

Receptionist was cortegious on the phone as well at check in. She welcomed us with a smile and that alone makes everything easy. Love the shuttle bus service and all the maps and info flyers available at the lobby. Hotel location was very close to the metro station and restaurants. Facility and room was clean.

Although the room looked clean there was a weird smell when you first enter the room. Bathroom was definitely clean but curtains had a bad odor as well. I wish there was more variety on the breakfast menu, one can get tired of having the same running eggs on the third day of the stay.

What a pleasant surprise! The room is incredibly spacious, and the bed is super comfortable and large. The mattress firmness is perfect for me, and I had a very comfortable sleep. The thoughtful design on the table and bedside cabinet includes multiple USB ports, which deserves a perfect score for this detail. The room is cleaned daily and is very clean and hygienic. The complimentary continental breakfast is my favorite. The fried eggs are served in different styles every day, and they offer two different flavors of waffles, two types of coffee, and four different fruit juices. It's fantastic. The hotel's free parking lot is also excellent, and they provided a parking pass during check-in. I personally witnessed a car without a parking pass being towed overnight, so the security is commendable. The hotel has additional facilities such as a car rental service, and they also offer shuttle service to Ronald Reagan Airport. I drove a 12-seater Ford van, and the parking spaces were spacious enough. The hotel is located at the entrance of Highway 66, in the heart of Arlington, with convenient transportation but still very quiet, without any noise. If you're traveling to Washington, D.C., staying here and driving to famous attractions like the National Mall only takes about fifteen minutes.

We loved the free parking (including garage parking), free breakfast, and close proximity to the Ballston Metro. It was a fairly easy and quick trip into DC. The room was larger than expected, beds pretty comfy, and they had a metro map, local restaurant lists/map, and a place that would deliver room service.

The wifi wasn't great (but it was free!). The shuttle service was free but discontinued during the Christmas/New Year's holiday, which was very disappointing and inconvenient as we had called ahead to be sure it would be available. The housekeeping staff was also unavailable during the holidays, which again was unacceptable. The eggs were a bit rubbery ..maybe switch to scrambled eggs.

Ease of checking in and out. Staff was pleasant and were helpfulness in answering questions, calling for transportation when needed, etc. The breakfast was good. The property was clean (rooms, lobby, kitchen area, etc.) and the atmosphere was pleasant.

The room felt warm at times when the blower/fan went off even though air conditioner was set at 66. Could feel the air while the blower/fan was on. Everything else was fine. I have no other dislikes about our stay at this property.

Great location! Quiet—never heard other guests in other rooms while we were in ours. Housekeeping came to tidy up every day. One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever experienced.

No negatives. If I had to pick something, the breakfasts didn’t have as much variety as some places I’ve stayed for several days. Food wasn’t bad, just kind of repetitive (scrambled eggs 3 out 4 days, for example).

This hotel was one of our favorite stays!! The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our son kept commenting how good the room smelled :) The hotel is within walking distance of Ballston quarter, with many shops and restaurants to visit. In addition, it is only a 10 to 15 minute drive to the National Mall. Front desk staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with bacon, eggs and waffles highlighting the buffet. Great staff, we would definitely recommend Comfort Inn and Suites Ballston!

Parking was a little tight, but that is to be expected in the DC area .

Very good location for visiting Washington DC. Free parking was extra bonus. The room was quiet and clean. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The breakfast selection was good. The hotel has an hourly shuttle that runs to the Ballston-MU Metro station, which is otherwise an easy half-mile walk. No need to wait for shuttle bus. I would stay here again when I am in the DC area

A night shift receptionist should practice interacting with people and making eye contact, it was vey difficult to get information or feel welcome.

I appreciated the professional and friendly staff that greeted us on arrival. Besides that, we had a few questions about the local area and each time the front desk staff was knowledgeable and also gracious. We had 3 children with us, so the morning breakfast was much appreciated. Simple, but very clean with options everyone enjoyed. The room we had was quite spacious and was very clean.

My only critique is that the AC system does not work off a room thermostat, but a setting on the unit itself. We had to readjust several times during the night as it got too cold.
