Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown

The lobby was very inviting and the staff was friendly and courteous. The buffet breakfast was adequate but I'm not sure it was worth the additional cost.

Our room was spacious but the carpet was dated. The sofa and chairs were all too low to the ground which made it difficult to get up and down from them. The cushions of the sofa sunk down into the frame so it was not very comfortable. My chief complaint was the description of its location. A fifteen minute walk to the waterfront was not what we were expecting after reading the description of its location online. We thought we would be a block or two away at the most. The bathroom floor was treacherous after using the shower. There was nothing to prevent water from pooling on the floor which in turn made it very slippery.

Breakfast was fresh and the area was clean. The room was spacious and the front desk clerk was kind. She helped tremendously when there was a small hiccup in our room. The GM even called the following day and apologized.

While everything was clean the cleaning crew accidentally missed cleaning under the sink in our room. This was dealt with immediately by the front desk staff who was appalled, but took care of it.

Staff was super nice & helpful! The beds were comfortable! Room was very clean minus the smell but the rest of the hotel smelled amazing! The lobby is beautiful and smells/looks very clean at all times!

Room smelled like cigarettes! Lots of things didn't work in our room..lights, the water temperature got cold quickly, the TV didn't work.

Everyone I interacted with was just as friendly and helpful as can be! Super professional but also warm and friendly.

My room was missing a few small things (dish soap, bottle opener) and the couch was awful- dirty, seemingly broken somehow cause it had a slant to it, and no pillows.

Location was excellent! We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see - USS Wisconsin, Chrysler Art Museum, waterfront and plenty of good restaurants. Beds were comfortable, facility was clean.

The only complaint was luggage cart had flat tire

Location, Rooms, Cleanliness, and the Service was amazing!

the only thing I’d change is that the TVs in the rooms are very out of date and couldn’t run our Apple TV programs or fire stick and I think the pool and Hot tub should be open a little later

Staff was exceptional all the way around. Great attention to detail and always bending over backwards to make things perfect for our stay. Will spread the word and certainly stay here again.

Only drawback was no ice machine on the floors.

Best room we stayed in on our trip. Had a nice size living room and kitchen area. Bedroom and bathroom were excellent. Breakfast was acceptable.

Did not like that we had to pay extra for parking but I guess that’s everywhere these days.

Breakfast was tasty and kept full. I walked to our concert and surrounding area it was close to everything we were looking to do.

Elevators. One didn't work and the other had dog urine stains and smell

I don't like the fact that soon as I checked in the room was hot and muggy, also the swimming pool looked filthy.... But we made the best of it
