Holiday Inn Express Chesapeake - Norfolk, an IHG Hotel

Check-in was smooth, I even signed up for the IHG Rewards program. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable, slept well every night save one. The complimentary breakfast was hot and plentiful, the selection of meat changed daily. Plenty of parking in the rear of the building for my car towing a trailer.

I stayed four nights under the first reservation, found out that I needed to stay an additional night, was charged an extra $100 over an already inflated daily charge. Plus, the last night (Friday), there was a different crowd of patrons. One group congregated outside the front door, loud, finally broke up around 11PM. A second group then congregated in the lobby on the first floor, VERY LOUD, didn't break up until 1AM. Why no one in management said anything to them is puzzling?

We stayed here overnight for one of my children's sporting events the next day and were extremely happy with the stay. The hotel was easy to get to - directly off the interstate, close proximity to gas stations/quick food as well as the venue for the competition. The hotel itself was very clean, the free breakfast was great with many different options. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, helpful, friendly. It was too chilly yet for the pool but it looked nice, clean, well-maintained. I'd prioritize staying at this hotel again in our travels and especially for kids sports- I was traveling alone - mom with kids- it was safe, easy and convenient. We stay in hotels often for kids sport travel and while nearly all hotels say they are "smoke free"- this is the first one we've stayed at that we did not encounter smoke anywhere inside.

No complaints!

The policies really made me happy “no parties” I really has a sigh of relief knowing that my personal time way from home was going to be quiet. My room upon entry was spotless I had no complaints whatsoever. The courtesy soap, shampoo, and conditioner (yes conditioner) were Dove products. -inserts heavenly sigh-. The breakfast was decent the automatic pancake machine is a thing of wonders. TRY THEM OUT! You will not be disappointed!

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. The breakfast was great. The room was clean, and the bed was so comfortable. The pool was great. It is so clear, and at night, it lit up in different colors. It was so much fun for my kid. The staff was wonderful. We had no issues. Great place to stay.

Rooms don’t come with a tv guide so you just have flick through and wait for the channel to load elevator is slow and a little bouncy did not serve bacon at breakfast

Breakfast was very good. Always seemed to have plenty of food out at all times.

I got a terrible chest and head cold due to the ac blowing all the time. Also the toilet needed to be an elongated model. Sorta cramped with the round toilet.

It was a comfortable room! The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean. Staff was friendly. I even called to state I was going to be very late checking in and they put a note in my file so they wouldn’t give the room away. The shower gel, shampoo/conditioner smelled amazing. Location was decent.

Breakfast was alright. Could have been better. A few towels in the bathroom were dirty. The tub is very low. The pool is small. Guest were loud at 6:40 AM going to get breakfast.

It was good I also liked that I was able to get a cup of Tea later during the day. Wish yogurt was available

The inability to adjust the AC it was rather cold, but we made it through. The staff gave us an extra blanket. Perhaps one should be left in thhe closet

What I like most about the Holiday Inn Express hotels is the consistency in what you get. Showers are hot, with good water pressure. Beds are comfortable. Room temperature easily adjustable. Quiet. Breakfasts of the kind offered are starting to get boring. But, they do in a pinch so one can keep traveling on.

Can't think of anything that I didn't like.

Even though the staff was behind on getting rooms ready for check ins, they made sure we had a clean room ready for our 30 minutes before needing to head to our even. SO friendly and kind. I went ahead and booked another stay
