Coastal Hotel & Suites Virginia Beach - Oceanfront

Check in was quick and easy! The room was clean and ready to go, opened the doors to the balcony immediately to listen to the ocean and see the beautiful views! Enjoyed the variety at breakfast each day and Bonnie was a joy to speak with! We mainly vacationed here to relax, (which we did!) Went on Rudees dolphin tour-highly recommend this, we saw so many Dolphins, however even if you do not the boat ride is wonderful! We biked everywhere- if you can bring your own bike I suggest you do. "Live On Atlantic"- this normally begins on June 1-we were lucky there happened to be performances the one Friday in May we were there. If you are in need of a grocery store go to Harris Teeter on 28th Street-it has everything you need! The beach is cleaned and raked everyday and you can usually spot a dolphin or two travelling back and forth.

The rooms although clean, are becoming outdated, would have loved to have been able to keep our patio door open to listen to the ocean at night but there are no screens in place. They also ask you to keep the doors closed to prevent a swarm of bugs going in your room( don't worry these bugs don't bite :)). The fighter Jets,:( there are jets constantly flying over during the week-they are LOUD! Did not enjoy this part at all-this is probably one reason why we would not return to Virginia Beach, as beautiful as it is. I would also suggest that the employees at the hotels and restaurants on the boardwalk be more informed of what events are happening on the boardwalk in order to let the tourists know.

The included breakfast was outstanding. The main hot dish was different each day and included a plentiful variety available each day. The servers were amazing. They were friendly, attentive and very personal. For this reason alone, I will highly recommend this hotel to family and friends and shall return very soon. Thank you to everyone. I wish I could list several of their names 😊

It is no reflection on the hotel, but they were setting up for a three day concert on the beach. The entire project is on going during several weeks of April, and tear down continuing several weeks into May. It includes several miles of prime beach and boardwalk. In my opinion, It is hugely detrimental to the Virginia Beach location for very little gain. I wonder about the impact it will have on the marine life. 😔 😟

The hotel was in the middle of the boardwalk, with a great location and ocean view. All of the staff were friendly. The front desk was helpful and kind, and housekeeping was fantastic. I believe she was the hotel manager. She walked around during breakfast to ask how everything was. Breakfast was free and excellent. A little bit of everything for everyone! There was free coffee at the front lobby all day. The pool and hot tub were great, the pool was a little cold, but had really good hours. The washer and dryer we decently priced. It was a really comfortable stay.

One of my biggest complaints would be no broom and dustpan in the room. I know that housekeeping is willing to come in and clean the rooms, but being right on the beach, it would be nice to have a broom to sweep up the sand. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights and prefer not to have housekeeping come in, just our personal preference. My second but minor complaint would be to monitor guests a little more coming from the beach. We went to the pool mid afternoon, and there was sand all over the floor and in the pool. There is a faucet outside to rinse off. I don't know why guests would go from beach to pool without rinsing. Previous hotels we've stayed at strictly enforced rinsing off prior to entering the pool.

The front desk staff was super friendly and informative upon check-in. They provided great recommendations on restaurants. The room was ready with all requested accommodations upon arrival. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is great. No crazy drunks or sketchy surroundings. We chose to eat at Abbey Road and 21st Street Seafood Company. Both were close in proximity and easy to walk to with a disabled mother and toddler. We ordered pizza one night but I cannot recall the name of the restaurant. It was the top suggestion from the front desk. The breakfast at the hotel was great. Bonnie is an absolute angel. She kept everything stocked and cleaned. She welcomed us daily and knew our names to greet us the next morning. She even came outside to tell us goodbye before we departed. She deserves whatever credit and reward she can receive. Absolutely phenomenal. The coffee machine in the breakfast area was an absolute top perk. There were so many more options besides just “coffee”. I think this was a great location for an incredible price.

The only flaws that I could report would be that the hotel needed some basic renovations/repairs. For example, the private balcony ceiling was flaking and needed some patching and could use some paint. The same goes for the pool area. The ceiling above the hot tops appeared to have mold on it and the vents were quite nasty. The shower head in the bathroom also appeared to need replacing as the pressure was imbalanced as water was not flowing through all openings.

Amazing location, I am so happy I discovered this hotel! Was our first year to this property as I keep trying different ones for the last 7 years and I have been sooo dissapointed until this year....I will never ever change this hotel,will be my to go destination in VA beach and I already recommended to few family friends that were looking in booking some gateaways and future vacations....The room is extremly clean....and easy to make the test: my kids were having white socks....and are still white!!! Everything is spotless! Kudos to our housekeeping Alicia that took care of our room every single day!! It is so nice when you come back tired with the kids from a beach day and find the beds made,trash out,vacuumed,clean bathroom and fresh towels! And the breakfast....WOW!!! No words! Absolutely amazing! Is not like a cheap,low quality feeling....in fact is the oposite...an entire morning experience! My kids enjoyed every day make to order waffles and pancakes and beside all the possible selection you can have for an upscale continental,are 2-3 hot options every day....different: omelets,sandwiches, bacon,scramble eggs,biscuits,gravy.....and soo much more.Everything sooo good,the Restaurant extremly clean and the staff is on top of replanishing and cleaning the tables constantly! The one associate/ host that makes the difference is for sure Mrs.Bonnie..... amazing personality,genuine care , humble and sooo friendly with every single guest.This lady really know what means Table Touch-ups! She makes connection and conversation with every family and guest! Please I would like the Management to recognize Bonnie and Alicia like stellar employees! Thank you for making our family experience very memorable!

Well....I tryed to extend my 5 nights stay with an addional night....and I was dissapointed that even hotel was not sold out for the Friday night ( I actually asked 2 diffetent Front desk agents about this) , anobody from Front Desk was able to grant me that night for the same rate I paid for 5 nights.I was ok with switching rooms like I was told,but for spending over $1,800 for my stay,I dont think was impossible to be accomodated one more night to a rate of over $300..... it was a matter of a manager for example approving the rate.I worked for 15 years in hotel business and things can be adjusted in the room rate world with a special approval for somebody that spent almost a week in your hotel ( counting the check out date are 6 days just FYI) .

The staff was awesome. Breakfast was amazing the ladies working in there were so sweet and welcoming. There is snack and drink machines on a few floors and coffee and water in the lobby all day and night.

The walls are very thin you can hear everything going on in the room next to you 😢 The room doors could use a soft close cause every time someone opened there door it would slam behind them and that would be very loud in the middle of the night.

The room and the view were really good. I liked that there was a laudry room so that we could wash our clothes.

We did not like the excessive amount that was reserved on our credit card for "incentals". The initial receptionist was seemed very suspicious of us. The breakfast food was not very good.

The hotel room size was very nice and comfortable. The bedding was PERFECT. I sleep wonderfully, so great I had to pry myself from it so I could enjoy the attractions of the boardwalk. (smile) The complimentary breakfast was FANTASTIC, very GOOD and DELICIOUS! Thank you!

The hotel clearly states NO SMOKING, but a couple nights I could smell the scent of Marijuana in the late night early morning hours. I didn't report it cause it didn't last long.....however I know that smell and I was disappointed with whomever didn't respect the hotel policy.

I can’t say enough good things about the staff. especially the breakfast staff. So very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely go back again. To me, everything about the place was great. The view was awesome and, it didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect for the seven days that I was there. It was very cool watching the dolphins and the pelicans right off shore maybe 40/50 yards at the most. I highly recommend this place.

Sofa was I bit uncomfortable, but, no big deal.
