Holiday Inn Va Beach-Oceanside 21st St, an IHG Hotel

I had reserved a king room with sofa bed. When I checked in my room had only the bed and no sofa. I returned to the front desk and was told the sofa's had not been delivered yet. After some back and forth the clerk assigned me to a different room with two queen beds. Not what I reserved but better than what they where going to give me.

Most of the hotel was a construction zone. The lobby, restaurant, pool and half the floors were being worked on during the day. I was not told ahead of time this was going on. Furthermore. half the parking lot was being used by the construction staff. I was not offered and discount or promotion as a result of this inconviene.

Billy the bar tender was fantastic. He was friendly, welcoming, and an awesome person all around. He remembered what we drank on the 2 night we were there from being at the bar the night previously. The GM (I apologize I did not catch her name) was also friendly, and welcoming. I will definitely be back to this hotel just for those 2 employees, especially Billy.

Unfortunately we were at the time it was under construction (which I was not aware of but it could have been in fine print that I missed.) We were fortunate enough to be allowed to a different pool. we also were not credited anything back because of this inconvenience.

Our room had everything we like to have in a beachfront accommodation. The room was spotless and the bathroom was excellent with adequate size, walk-in shower, fan, and great lighting. Had a large TV with good cable service. There was a nice balcony with a small table and two chairs. Beds were good. There were plentiful plugs, recharge stations and lights! We would definitely stay here again.

The coffee in the lobby, albeit free, was below average. We chose not to get the breakfast as part of the room deal. It seemed expensive. Parking will be a little tight if you have a large vehicle but a complimentary valet is available.

Staff went out of their way to change our room/floor at our request because I preferred a view from a higher balcony. Room was clean. Pool area was clean and the water cleanliness was monitored often. Attached restaurant, Hemingway's, was clean and the food was good. I will stay here again.

When we booked the room, we were told that there was one parking spot per room. When we arrived the Valet attendant said there was no room in the parking lot, but his car was in a space. He said he would move his car for a tip. He decided to move his car without a tip when I said that I was going to talk with someone at the front desk. By that time, another customer vacated a parking space so we parked in that one.

The location and value of this hotel is great. The rooms have a balcony with a view of the ocean. Breakfast is not included but there is free coffee and fruit infused water in lobby. It is located in walking distance of stores and restaurants including McDonalds and Wendy's. There are two mini golf courses, escape rooms and other entertainment in walking distance.

This was a quick weekend Trip for me, husband and 2 kiddos and it was amazing. Room was very clean and good size for the four of us. location was right off beach!! The pool was a small size but great four little ones as it was not deep. The service people in the afternoon were so kind and welcoming!

Only thing that could have been better was the food and drinks served at the restaurant in hotel. We got a few alcoholic drinks and they all tased like water and no alcohol. Also, we ate breakfast there and it was decent we went around 2 hours after they opened so maybe if you go right at 7am the food may be fresher.

Loved my room, The bathroom is nice sized with a glass door shower and a LED lighted mirror. The balcony is kind of small but the view from it is amazing. The hotel is walking distance to shops & restaurants.The staff at the front desk were so nice and very helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Not enough parking at the hotel and it's a little tight. If there's no parking at the hotel, you will have to park in the lot down the street. If there are valet spots left, you can have valet to take your car down to the other lot for free which is a bonus.

We go to this hotel every yr at this at this time for our anniversary. Breakfast is always wonderful. Location is ideal. Staff alway courteous Spent 2 days at the pool
