Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront

We were satisfied, however we would prefer to be on a lower floor on our next visit. We did not interact much with staff but our check in was seamless and the location of the hotel met our needs to reach specific areas of the beach. Our next visit is (9/2 - 9/4/23) where we will request a lower floor.

I did not ask this bonus question from the survey "Bonus Question – You stated a preference during booking to have parking at no additional cost. Was Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront able to fulfill your request?" I asked for foam pillows and my request was accommodated.

Really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were really nice, it was clean, and although we didn’t get to get the room cleaned daily due to COVID restrictions, the staff always made sure we had what we needed. The location was spot on. We were able to walk to almost everything! The view was beautiful. The pool area was always kept clean. We have found our new hotel that we will attend every time we come to Virginia Beach!

The only issue I would say we had were the AC unit. It didn’t really keep our room cool as it could have and could tell there were some issues with it. However, because we had excellent weather the entire trip, we kept our balcony door opened most of the time, so we never made a complaint about it.

The room was overall pretty nice for a 3-star hotel. We had a great view of the beach. The complimentary breakfast was good. Easy access to the swimming pool and on-site laundry. One randomly awesome perk, was there was a water bottle refill station just a few feet from our room which was great.

The floor had a stain on it. The shower leaked into the bathroom floor drain, which was weird, even though it was for the handicapped. Wi-Fi was tricky to set up.

Every employee was nice and helpful. We stayed in the larger king suite, and it was perfect,clean and comfortable for the 3 of us! Bedroom is partitioned off with a sliding door from living room so they each have some privacy and their own T.V. All rooms have balconies facing the ocean.You are right on the beach,boardwalk and close to the pier which is really convenient. Breakfast was excellent! Plenty of hot/cold options. Pool area was nice- and saw security every night patrolling the grounds. Employees were working constantly to ensure everything was in tip top shape. Very impressed with the cleanliness.

Not really anything negative to say... mattress on the couch pull out bed was uncomfortable, but it was very clean. I expected to pull the cushion off and find a pile of crumbs and trash but to my surprise it was absolutely spotless. Thought the price was a little high, but in all reality for the location, level of comfort, cleanliness and convince it can't be beat!

The view! Frontline of the Ocean and we saw dolphins several times from our balcony (we live in the desert so it is a big deal to us). Spacious room, nicely appointed. We wish we could've stayed several more nights to enjoy the boardwalk and the beach. An added bonus was the restaurants and coffee shops in the area were generally good. Our stay included the breakfast which was basic but took care of our needs.

Generally the room was quiet and comfortable but we had a night of the neighbors from hell. The front desk did not blow us off and acted concerned when we reported them.

I loved the showers so much! Such a small detail to the room, but I loved the shampoo, conditioner, & body wash being on the wall and the glass doors! I loved how everything looked! I loved our room layout and the pool was nice too. breakfast was wonderful as well. The staff was extremely friendly too. The young lady that checked us in was so sweet and super nice.

The only thing I don’t like is that my air conditioner couldn’t go below 64 but in my moms room, hers went to 60. I am hot natured so I love a cool room! Also, totally hate that the parking garage has no elevator. Other than that I have no complaints!

Because of “covid” rooms are not tended to every day so no clean towels are brought regularly. This is not the only hotel doing this but it just makes no sense….no one is going to catch covid by cleaning a room and switching out towels 🙄

Ocean front was amazing!! The front desk staff, especially the lady, was top notch. Any problem we had she was on it. Her suggestions were well taken & her professionalism was A rated. Efficiency by the front desk lady was incredible.

There was no elevator from the garage. If our 3rd party would have come, he would of had a very hard time. The air conditioning seemed to be turned down & the hallways were extremely hot. When we first got to our room, it smelled like weed. Front desk lady cleaned it up right away. She was awesome, Even offered to move us.

The location was right on the beach it was great.

The beds/pillows were uncomfortable. The TV's didn't work well, they never connected to the internet. We also wish we had screen doors to the balcony; we ended up with bugs infesting the room. They took care of the bugs quickly, to their credit. A screen door would've prevented it altogether.

Location/view was great. Staff was helpful and friendly! Common areas were always being attended to and kept clean and stocked. The storage in the room was abundant so we had plenty of places to put our stuff so it was out of the way. Beds were comfortable which was great since I have a bad back and that is one thing that was a concern for me. Big tv in each room with good selection of channels. Breakfast selection was very good considering they have to just do Covid friendly options that are grab and go.

Lack of room cleaning service due to COVID. They would only change the trash and linens if you placed the waste/laundry basket outside of your room before a certain time. Otherwise they never came in our room to clean it even with a call requesting a service. Luckily I brought cleaning supplies and could wipe things down as needed. Room could use a deep cleaning and many repairs. Reading lights that were affixed to the bed were falling off as was the toilet paper holder in the bathroom. There was accumulated dust around fixtures, along the ceiling and in the vents on the AC and ceiling.
