The Schooner Inn

Staff was nice , the room was spacious and very clean. Enjoyed the room and the Oceanfront view and the Housekeeping were very nice and cleaned our room daily and gave new towels, etc…except we had a problem with air conditioning system in our room, making a lot of noise and it was hard to find anyone at the front desk after calling and going down there several times. When The front desk associate arrived she was willing to send someone to assist us.

The cleanliness of the hallway floors of hotel and elevator needs some tender loving care.

The front office team were fantastic, very responsive, and attentive. Housekeeping was diligent, kind, and also very attentive. Awesome views from the room and balcony. The kitchenette was perfect for what I needed, saving a little money not going out to eat every meal. I have been coming to Schooner for about 4 or 5 years now, and will continue to do so, the location, rooms, and staff can't be beat!!

What I didn't like had nothing to do with the staff...they were actually very kind and proactive. Schooner Inn is a non-smoking facility, it's what keeps the cost down, unfortunately, many of the guests have no regard for that...there were a couple of days where the people in the adjoining room were smoking pot...it came right through the walls, and I couldn't use the balcony. I am sensitive to smoke, so it was uncomfortable for those few days; however, the staff did all that they could for me. Perhaps a light-up alarm in the rooms would be helpful.

Fantastic location. On the quiet end of the beach. The view from the room was exceptional. There was a lot of water activities that were fun to watch. We are an elderly couple so were didn't go out on the sand but really enjoyed all the action going on. The beach was very clean. There were not many restaurants right in the area but within a couple of blocks were great seafood places. Right on Rudee's Inlet where the fishing boats come and go. The staff was extremely pleasant. Robert, who checked us in, gave up his parking space to us so we would be close and not have to walk a distance. The beds were so comfortable and the room quite large. The Inn wasn't fancy with lots of frills but had everything you need to stay in comfort. We would definitely recommend the Inn for families.

A little tricky to get in the parking lot. Also could use a few more luggage carts. Like the fact that there is a no pet policy. I have a cat at home and I love dogs, but I don't want to stay in a room where animals I don't know have stayed.

The size of our room was great and loved that we had a stovetop and cooked our meals the view was awesome from our balcony everyone from the front desk to the room service was so nice and very pleasant enjoyed our stay.

The pool was pretty cold they said it was heated but very cold. Didn't really like the hard floors we always had sand all over very unpleasant feeling sand on your feet all the time.The music that the inn played sometimes out at the pool was very disturbing and not very relaxing it is supposed to be a family relaxing vacation but my husband told the inn about it and they changed the music and were very understanding. The beds were not as comfortable as they should have been maybe replacing some beds would be a good idea.

I couldn't smoke not even on balcony

I was looking for something that reminded me of the type of places I would stay along the Jersey shore when I was a kid. I was not disappointed. There's just something magical about being right on the beach. And this old school motel fits the bill.

I didn't like the weather but that has nothing to do with the Schooner Inn. But here is a box and I must fill it in. HA!

Close proximity to boardwalk/beach. Great access to local beach attractions and restaurants.

Constant marijuana smell as you enter the hotel room. Due to other guests smoking in their rooms the constant smell of weed was coming from the vents. We had to open the balcony door to remove the odor. The balcony had a sign that clearly stated smoking isn’t permitted on the balcony but my next door neighbor was smoking cigarettes. The balcony was small but enough space to sit relax and enjoy the view. There was enough space for 2 chairs and a small table. The elevators were very small and difficult to maneuver to luggage cart on to. The elevators didn’t have any ventilation. They were very hot and hard to breathe air on.

I had a 4th floor room with a FABULOUS view out to the ocean. As far as rooms go, mine felt HUGE! I loved ALMOST everything about the room. See my dislikes for explanation. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to stay here again!

My ONLY issue was with the shower. The mist/jet that comes out is so powerful that it creates an air current blowing the shower curtain INTO the shower! I have special needs so I detached the showerhead they had and put my own hose with handheld showerhead. That seemed to also take care of the massive air current blowing the curtain in. Also if you are SHORT like me, bring an extendable backscratcher or some long stick with you to push the curtain rings at the ends all the way closed. I OF COURSE, put BACK their showerhead before leaving and left everything the way I found it. DON'T DO THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW or if you have bad balance. I stood on the edge of the tub to do it and was able to reach!

We loved the location of this hotel. Far enough away from all the busy shops but right on the beach. The housekeep is so sweet and right there if you need anything. The staff even rescued our sons stuffed bird from the roof below us. The playground next door is perfect as well. 4 days Oceanview was definitely well priced.

Balcony is smaller than expected. The balcony divider became a game for our 11 month old to pop his head under to see our neighbors 🤣 . The elevator seemed a little outdated but worked fine. The closet curtain was a pain in the a**.

Quiet location. Family atmosphere oriented hotel. Beautiful view from balcony to watch sunrise. We also enjoyed watching surf school held at the shore infront of us from our balcony.

How room service is handled. Some days we didn't get service/towels & other days people were knocking on the door at 9AM before we even finished making breakfast to do it. I always take a $30 stick hand-held vacuum of my own no matter where we go on vacation so I just swept myself on no service days and sent my teens down to get clean towels if needed.
