Holiday Inn Express Bellingham, an IHG Hotel

The Entire Staff was Fabulous!! From Eva on the Front Desk day shift with her kind smile and always there to be helpful… The Night shift was Great… Even helpful be clean off my car when i had just picked it up from being shipped!! The Food Staff not only made good food every day they always were there with a smile and keeping it clean … The Housekeeping Staff was Great as well. Always helpful and very friendly.. The place looks great!

The headboards in my Rm#323 had tears… -abs the shower the last time used had a loud screech.. sorry I forgot to mention.

Location is excellent for us, the facility and our room were very well cleaned, staff was very friendly and helpful, we were only there one night, but it was very pleasant

The only issue was what looked like a blood stain on the carpet by the far wall at the base of the air conditioner. We didn't notice it until the day we were leaving, and we did let management know about it. It may have been easily missed by cleaning staff, not well lit in that area, and didn't cause us any inconvenience or distress.

they have an extremely late check-in. It is 4 o’clock that is very inconvenient when I arrived they said the room wasn’t ready yet because of the check in time being 4 PM I thought about it for a while and then I went back to the desk then I said you’re telling me there is no clean room at this point, then the clerk took a second look and found us a room. I’m not sure why this happened but it certainly tainted my stay.

Location was great, convenient to all the places we needed to go. Could walk to some restaurants. Loved the room. Breakfast was efficient, good variety and selection, and kept very clean even as people were coming and going. Breakfast staff person made certain the food trays were filled, kept supplies (plates, cups, utensils full) and cleaned the tables between guests coming and going.

The bathroom was not very clean. Informed the front desk of the problem.

I liked having a coffee bar. your cleaning staff was incredibly professional and friendly your check in staff could learn from them. my plans changed and I needed to spend 1 more night at your facility. I was told you were booked and he couldn’t help me “ so sorry”. I went back to my room and booked a room in 10 minutes on line. I was charged double the price and quite frankly if I wasn’t in a wedding I would have went some where else. it’s a shame because your food and cleaning staff are amazing. Teri Weber

Friday check in staff was friendly, professional. The gentleman working the desk (Saturday) during the day needs to understand what hospitality and helping a person who is truly in a bind means.

This two star hotel has many extra touches that make it closer to a three star hotel. The room had an additional seating area with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, real dishes. The bathroom had a very fancy toilet, night light as part of the regular light switch. The bed had two kinds of king size pillows, blackout curtains. The free breakfast had choices of eggs, plain or omelettes, meats (sausage/bacon), pancake maker, fruit, juice and other typical items along with to go bags! They even had afternoon cookies for free. Staff was helpful and friendly.

TV could have been the smart variety instead of cable so you could stream your own media. The wifi wouldn't work with a Kindle because it required two password fields instead of one.

Breakfast was awesome! The hotel offers a great selection of hot and cold foods -- oatmeal with the fixings, cereal, fresh fruit, sausage, muffins, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon buns, pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, omelettes, juices, yogurt and of course, coffee. I liked that they mixed up the selection of hot foods daily. The breakfast crew was super friendly and helpful. Also, the front end staff was great and recommended some local breweries, which we checked out and loved.

The rooms were fine, maybe a little on the small size but good for the price. I think the hallway carpeting was a little dark and dated but that's being really picky.

Great staff, pleasant, polite and competent. Breakfast bar was well stocked. Good parking area. Access to the next door gym. Good room.

Road noise from Meridian Avenue is not trivial. Perhaps better to get a room on the other side of the building away from the road. Or thicker windows might help.

Friendly staff! Breakfast offerings were exceptionally good, and included both standards like cereal, fruit, and bagels and also eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausages, and bacon. We swam in the pool both evenings we stayed there - it was very well cleaned, including clean restrooms and showers in the pool area.

The air conditioner in our room was ancient and smelled stale when we first started it up (it was the first warm day in quite some time), and also needed a good cleaning. The rest of the room was meticulously clean.

We loved the location, back off the main roads! The pool was a little chilly, but kids had a blast! the shower has wonderful soap for us to use and is clean and the kids saw their first bidet, which was hilarious!! As for mom, I slept through the night without turning once! This is a first in a long time, and I woke rested refreshed. Breakfast was good and coffee was GREAT! This will be a place we stay at again while visiting our daughter at Western throughout the next four years!

Like I mentioned above, and this would be my only complaint(if I had one), the pool was chilly and the hot tub was luke warm.
