Silk Path Boutique Hanoi

So glad we chose to stay at the Silk Path Boutique Hotel. It’s perfectly situated opposite Hoan Kiem Lake and a short walk away from the old quarter and the Opera House. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. Given where the hotel is the rooms are also very quiet. The real stars of the show are the people who work in the hotel. Every one we had contact with was exceptional. They genuinely want to do everything they can to make your stay a lovely experience . Special mentions go to Nhung, Trong, Tuyen, Linh and all the wonderful restaurant team who kept us fed and watered.

Wonderful in every respect. The hotel is ideally located and within walking distance of most key points of interest. At weekends the road in front is closed to cars, which we found an added advantage even if it means that taxi pickups take place at the street corner (only 80m away). Every member of the staff makes you feel welcome in a genuine manner. Everyone is attentive, constantly kind and helpful beyond expectations. We spent a whole week as we were visiting family there and stayed in a beautiful and comfortable room which was very well sound-insulated despite being located at the front of the hotel. Breakfast is good and plentiful and so is the food at the patisserie/restaurant next door, owned by the hotel. Cherry on the cake: the hotel offered a limited free laundry facility.

There was nothing we didn't like

Location was perfect - quiet but close to Home Kiem lake and the old quarter. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Spoke very good English. Doorman sent us to fantastic street food places. Wifi was excellent - able to live stream lectures with lot of images. We stayed in 2 rooms at different times - the deluxe room was better than the senior executive room - more space and better wifi.

The only negative was the coffee - ??? how can the coffee in Vietnam be bad but it was???

The location of The Silk Path Boutique Hanoi was stellar. Very near the Old Quarter for that bohemian vibe, contrasting with the upscale Haute Couture brands a block away from the hotel. The beds here are where dreams are created. So comfortable, you don’t want to leave them. The service and staff were consistently kind, friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. High marks for hospitality. We stayed on two occasions while using Hanoi as our hub, and the upgraded us to the suite on our second stay. It was very generous and kind. Five stars for the hotel and especially the staff. We will be back.

I was excited to finally have a bath when in suite 601, but the hot water pressure was so low that it would have taken 45 minutes to fill the tub. Other than that, no complaints.

Situated on the southern end of the Ho Hoan Kiem lake, the hotel is perfectly located to take advantage of the pedestrianized zones come the weekend when Hanoi becomes a hub of activity. The rooms are set back so you don't experience any of the noise from the street and there is a fantastic roof top with a view of the lake where if you chat to the waiting staff nicely, they may set breakfast for you there in the morning. Once you wake up, you can get your running shoes on and step out the door and join the locals in doing laps of the lake before indulging in some of the freshly baked patisseries from the shop next door. The rooms will not be for a more modern traveller that is used to all the bells and whistles but there is a certain old school French colonial charm with the polished parquet teak floor, gold taps and shower heads in the bathroom and the marble tiling. The rooms are simple but comfortable and as a bonus I was given 2 x pieces of free laundry a day. If you don't have the budget for the Apricot hotel, I think this is a good alternative - it is a simple but comfortable hotel with plenty of charm and you can walk easily to many of the sites in the old town.

When the roads are closed off, you just have to be aware that the taxis cannot drop you right outside the hotel. The best drop off location is the Hotel Zephyr and from there you can walk to the Silk Path Boutique Hotel.

We stayed for a few days near the end of April 2023. Our room had everything we needed and more (Netflix, bathrobes, bidet). Service was excellent. Whatever you're paying Trang, Nhung Linh, Trong, Vu, please pay them more! Their work made our stay terrific, as well as the other staff we didn't speak to but kept the place running. The location was excellent yet the room was quiet. We could walk everywhere and we did. L'etage Cafe is just a few doors down and was a highlight during our stay: egg coffee, kittens, space to read and look at the lake without feeling rushed. Would absolutely come back and stay here again.

Excellent location, right next to the lake in Hanoi's old quarter so you can sleep peacefully due to less traffic but a short walk to the centre of the old quarter. The staff were great and incredibly friendly. They told us about different places to eat and visit. Our first room had a double bed when we has booked two singles, and the immediately upgraded us to a better floor with a room with two single beds. The room was perfect. Good TV, comfortable beds and nice bathroom. The view from the roof was amazing too.

Beautiful room, feels like youre transported to Paris. Great location in front of the lake.

Bathroom and towels look pretty old and very well-used.

Good to see the smiling face of Trong again, thank you for restaurant recommendations and the taxi to the airport. Good to meet Linh at check in. lovely boutique hotel. very elegant rooms, hallways and reception area.The hotel faces the lake and is in a good location to sight see. on Friday nights the street in front of the hotel and around the lake are closed to all vehicles. dry nice to walk around without traffic. The French bakery next door has delicious tortes and drinks. we also had a Hanoi sandwich which is famous for Hanoi. it was delicious. staff are very friendly and helpful.
