City Lodge Hotel Lynnwood

The place was spotlessly clean and the room was very cozy. It was a one-night stay which we enjoyed. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The place is in a very quiet and secure location. Parking was free in a secure basement. Check-in and check-out were both very smooth and easy.

The toilet seat had pee all over and showed its been a while since it was cleaned. The shower doesn't completely seal off so when in use, water filters out to the floor. The TV remote didn't work but I didn't need it. It would have been awesome if the aircon worked.

It was on the 17 of December when we checked in, we were greated by friendly receptionist 'guy' who was willing to assist and he explained the facilities for us which made our stay more pleasent. Would like to pass my gratitude specially to Victoria and kamogelo who brought me a birthday cake in my room, it was really amazing. Most definitely coming back and will recommend it to other people 😁😁

We had our beverages in the room though we were little disappointed that there were no mini-fridge in the room.

Comfortable accommodation in a safe area

When we came there 23.00 after a very long journey the receptionist were not too eager to help us. But we booked then through Booking.com and then had to wait for about 30 min until our payment showed on the system before she would appoint us a room. We were tired, aged 62 and 63 and being regular clients, I feel she could be more accommodating. But I want to emphasize that it was the one and only not so good experience we had with a staff member.

Ayanda at reception.... so kind and friendly. Sorting me out in a very sufficient and professional way after my booking dates were wrong (me booking the 23rd but actually wanted to book in the 16th). She always helps me at reception and is a true jewel to your Hotel. THANK YOU MY DEAR. LOOOOOOVE the feather pillows - almost wanted to take 2 home... my previous stays I did not have those.... ha ha ha

The patio does only have one chair and no table. 2 single beds with only one extra blankie.....

The location is perfect with wonderful restaurants that form part of the same complex. The rooms are spacious and pefect for working during business trips.

Travelers tip: I was a bit taken aback by housekeeping. Yes, they did knock twice and yes, they did call out "housekeeping", but there were no pauses between those actions. I had about 6 seconds to stop them from entering. (They also started very early in the morning). So I recommend putting out the do-not-disturb sign until you are dressed and ready for housekeeping to enter. (Even if you're checking out later that day)

The location is excellent! Many shops and restaurants are around it! All the people working at the hotel were very kind! I really enjoyed the coffee provided by the hotel in the morning. The ice and water machine was very convenient.

The room was not tidy until 3PM time to time. The air conditioner wasn't working properly. The reception gave us the wrong room in the first place....

The City Lodge chain of hotels is so typically South African like rugby or biltong. So whats nice is that you know exactly beforehand what your going to get and this hotel’s location is particularly centrally near a major highway. House keeping needs a special mention as I forgot my pajama pants in the room and they located in and liaised with a courier company to have it sent to me.

The reception personal I feel could be faster. When we checked in, it took an awfully look time go eventually get to the front of the queue.

I loved the aesthetics and overall design of the hotel and the comfort of the bed with the roller shutter door that opens from the bathroom. That was actually too dope OMG I'm like "Hello Hollywood" haha Thank you

All good to me. Maybe the WhatsApp communication tool could be better utilized. I had to call the hotel to get an iron and an ironing board. Besides that, I'm happy though!

It was close to the wedding venue I was going to. Very central I loved it

Their system was down and I wanted to pay for my water as my cab was outside. I waited so long until I gave up on their payment method and I left the water. They never offered me an alternative even though my price included breakfast which I didn’t even eat anything as I was leaving early

The view from the balcony overlooking restaurant area - the lights are amazing. NO LOADSHEDDING and the cutest little kettle to make my drink - COFFEE!!!! Best bath tub to relax...... Reception ALWAYS smiling, kind and willing to give me the best room

Nothing NOT to like really..... Rooms facing highway a bit noisy on the balcony when having a smoke outside... but is not a reason not to go back.
