Tuckerbox Motor Inn

The room was very spacious - on arrival we were told that we had been upgraded, so we were happy with that. The only staff member we came into contact with was the lady who booked us in. She is very friendly and helpful and gave us excellent information about the area. The room itself is tastefully decorated, well maintained and with everything that we needed. Although it is not far from the highway and has a service station next door, the room was quiet and it was great having a numbered car space outside the room that was for our car. The room was very clean and all in all we were very pleased with this accommodation. We would be happy to stay here again and are happy to recommend it to others. It is a really nice place to break the trip from Sydney to Melbourne.

EVERYTHING! I couldn't recommend this motel more highly. The motel has a lovely ambience and our room was spacious, very comfortable and immaculately clean The bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in giving a great night's sleep after a big day of driving. Everything is of a high standard and true to what is shown on the website. From the minute you are welcomed by Michelle in reception you just know your stay is going to be a positive experience I had read previous reviews stating that the location to the city centre was a negative BUT don't be put off by this. It's literally a 3 minute drive to a variety of eateries, Woolworths, coffee shops, etc. The Tuckerbox Motor Inn is THE perfect place to stay next time you're in Gundagai

Absolutely NOTHING

Michelle the owner made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. We really appreciated that she was able to fulfill the special request with our booking. Our room was spacious, clean, light and comfortable. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. Good lighting in the room and bathroom. Big size flatscreen TV wall mounted. Sofa in the room. Seating area for eating. Good water pressure in the shower and larger bathtowels. Large parking area and allocated spaces are right at the front of the room. Gundagi has a pretty town centre, paved footpaths, landscaping and it is a nice place to stroll. There is a good cake shop selling tasty pies and cakes. The Family Hotel is a good place to eat. There is a Woolworth Supermarket and several petrol stations.

The Tuckerbox is honestly the cleanest, quietest and most convenient place to stay I have experienced in many years. My adult daughter and I were driving from Melbourne to Canberra and needed a place to rest and recharge along the way, and chose Gundagai. A pretty little town, we decided on The Tuckerbox Motor Inn from the excellent reviews online, and booked ahead as we disembarked in Geelong. What a gem we found when we arrived hot and tired from a long day driving! We were greeted warmly and genuinely at reception by the owners who could not have been more helpful. Convenient parking right outside our door, the room was absolutely spotless! The beds were very comfortable and the whole area was spacious and well thought out. It was obvious that everything was so well maintained, and the owners are proud of their motel, which they have every right to be! Highly recommended, congratulations on your property and your customer service, you deserve a five star rating every time! Thank you.

My mum and I were travelling up from Melbourne to Yamba and chose Gundagai as our first stop. This motel couldn't have been more welcoming. Just off the highway (but no noise) so it was super convenient and easy to find and didn't involve much more driving after what had been a long 5 hour drive! The room was spotless and enormous with a queen and single bed, sofa and table and chairs. Lovely big windows and a big bathroom with an excellent shower. It just couldn't have been more perfect for what we needed. We would definitely work our next road trip around this accommodation! Thank you to the owners for being the perfect hosts.

nothing to do with the property, more that we were 5 minutes too late to get anything to eat! (even McDonalds closed at 9pm sharp!)

We had two rooms with a double and two singles beds in each. The two rooms had doors that opened into a central foyer like area that had its own outside door. We were able to have the two room doors open to go back and forth, but the external door closed for privacy. This was a fantastic set up for families. The rooms were very spacious, the beds very comfy and all of the other facilities were excellent. We didn't use the pool, but it was clean and the pool area well landscaped and inviting. There was also a BBQ area too.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like.

As usual the room was excellent. It was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning excellent and quiet. The kitchenette makes preparing food and cleaning up an easy process. Despite the freeway being fairly close, the rooms are very quiet. Jenny does her best to ensure we have our favourite room and we're grateful to her. The Caltex service station across the road is useful for basic food items. And Woolworths is just a short drive into Gundagai.

Our only issue was with the exhaust fan in the bathroom. The switch wasn't working this time, a bit of an inconvience.

Spacious room that was equipped with everything needed for a stay. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean, plush carpet in the room. Great communication from staff. We only stayed a night as a stopover on the way from Melbourne to Sydney and it in a great location just off the highway for this and a good distance between the two for a stop.

The room was amazing, huge, clean, smelled nice & spa was great after a day of driving. Bed was very comfortable too.

The lady on reception was a little abrupt with us. We parked our small 4 tonne truck in front of the room which fitted in the car space to get our luggage out. She came over & I asked if it was ok to leave it in front of the room? She replied we don't like trucks to park there because they leak oil then walked off. Don't cars leak oil too? Needless to say we parked it in the truck space besides the property.

Very disappointed after an 800km drive to find that instead of the room with spa bath we had ordered we were given a disabled room. The receptionist investigated and discovered that whilst we had booked the room early two other family’s who had booked later had been booked into the spa rooms. She said this was a Booking.Com mistake.
