Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach, an IHG Hotel

Location was very good. we had come because you wanted to be at the beach part of the time. We also wanted to go downtown, which was easy to do and not far away. We had a great time when we were there in Coogee and loved downtown Sydney.

we teamed Australia to go to the Australia open, and we both play a lot of tennis, and we’re very disappointed with the tennis court that you had. It was obvious that it hadn’t been used in a very long time… Sticks, small branches were all over it, and there were parts of the court that were torn,. We are tennis players and we went out a couple times to hit and it was not very good.

Good location, room was very spacious and bed and pillows very comfortable

When we arrived at the hotel and when we checked out, we couldn’t get a bellboy to help get our luggage to the room (and also when we departed the hotel couldn’t get help with luggage to our car) and had to carry the luggage ourselves. The hotel provided a trolley but as we are both in our 60’s we found this very difficult. This is a service that the hotel absolutely should provide given we paid close to $800 for two nights. I feel this was poor service. Also for the price we paid, I felt this should have included breakfast. It was annoying to have to lay $32 for breakfast considering the accommodation was nearly $400 per night.

the location is absolutely splendid with rooms facing the ocean and beach. One can have an easy stroll over to the beach walk. All shops and cafes are in close vicinity. The hotel bar is very well equipped and a good place to have an evening beer. Staff at reception was very friendly and supportive.

of course, prices are a bit on the quite upper end of the line with approx. 300AUD pn. We booked in my Dad for his 85th birthday so it was a special occasion, otherwise we would usually try to stay somewhere less expensive. On the bright side, the management provided a complimentary bottle of Shiraz and sweets as birthday present

The view was amazing , close to beach , cafes , restaurants, comfortable bed , clean room .

Was impressed that you have to pay a parking at $45 a day , especially when you’re paying almost $500 a night . Also the night we arrived after a long 8 hour drive we planned to have a quiet dinner in the main restaurant, unfortunately for us we had to have dinner at the bar in a very loud environment. As the main restaurant and function room was booked for private functions, it was so loud with music & women screaming and yelling. Very disrespectful for all other people that are staying in the hotel . Paying so much money to stay there and we had have dinner on high chairs and a small bench . As motel you should be advising your customers I’d there will be no access to areas of the hotel .

Received a lovely upgrade to a room with a ocean view and balcony Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly Restaurant staff were attentive and friendly Bedding was comfortable and room was quiet Public transport was easy to navigate to our event and cheap Coogee beach is a great outlook from the hotel and nearby cafes have great coffee. We walked to Bondi via the cliff top walk which was fantastic but give yourself two hours and plan to catch the bus back unless you are very fit and want to spend half a day walking Would happily stay again when next in Sydney

Sydney car parking is expensive - $90 for two nights under the hotel but to be expected

The Hotel was in a great location, opposite the beach. We had a great view of our beachfront room and enjoyed the morning sunrises. Blockout Curtains were great since the room faced the sun as it was coming up....so it didn't interrupt our morning sleep-in. Great walking distance to the local restaurants (which we found were superb). Buffet breakfast in the morning was also great. Overall we had a great stay.

Unfortunately, during our stay the pool was going through maintenance so was closed, which was disappointing since we had such great weather.

We unexpectedly needed a wheelchair, following medical appointment at Prince of Wales. Staff kindly located a wheelchair for us and swapped our room for a "disability access" room, so while I am not permanently disabled the changed room did provide more circulation space. Carpark was spacious - some are so small. Nice variety of herbal teas and hot chocolate in room. Room was ready for us at 1pm and we were kindly offered a late checkout at 12noon which was very nice after being at the hospital. Nice urban view over rooftops to the south.

Bed seemed a bit narrow for a double. Overnight parking seemed a bit pricey at $45. Couldn't get sound to adjust on TV for TV programmes. Remote indicated volume was increasing but in reality it was not. Happened on a number of channels, in the end I just turned the TV off. No biscuits with in-room tea and coffee (sad face).

Location is wonderful to explore the eastern beaches of Coogee, and a decent walk along the coast up to Bondi is well worth it. The breakfasts are outstanding. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Rooms are big and comfortable with great areas to sit and chill on the balcony

Bathroom facilites in the rooms are a little outdated. Shower curtains and shower over baths are pretty outdated these days. Perfectly fine, but for a proper hotel chain like this I'd expect a bit more modern bathrooms. Pillows are pretty horrid too. But these are minor things.

The staff were all friendly and happy to help. How close the beach was. The bus stop outside hotel made the ease of travelling places. The breakfast exceeded expectations. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Very clean bathroom. Good storage space and providing a safe.

Not being informed about venues that were going to be happening which affected being able to go to the bar and restaurant. Was very crowded in the lobby when conferences were on.

The room was spacious and very nice. Amazing view of the ocean with great sunrises. Buffet breakfast was the nicest hotel breakfast I've ever had! Also tried the restaurant too which was nice but it's right in the heart of Coogee so lots of restaurants and eateries close by. Weather wasn't the best but the pool looked nice.

Mentioned on the booking it was our honeymoon and would have liked something to acknowledge this to make it feel extra special.
