Great location, large quiet room.

A bit dated perhaps, but otherwise great value.

We spent 1 week here from Christmas through to new year and it was very pleasant. We were close to the city and mostly walked everywhere. The staff were very friendly and accommodated us when we asked for towels or when a food order arrived. We had to check in 1 day later due to a flight cancellation and they held our room for us upon request. Self-serve laundry was very useful to have on the premises and there is a woolys right across the street to get detergent from. I would stay here again if I am visiting Sydney.

If I had to nit pick - the elevator is very slow and small. On one occasion it went up to every floor and stopped before going down to the ground floor. We just used the stairs during busier periods.

The hotel is reasonably priced and was available at a short notice which is rather unusual for Sydney in summer. The location is fantastic, just minutes' walk from Kings Cross station. The area is very pleasant, there are a lot of restaurants and cafes all around the place, and the transportation options are excellent. The room was clean and nice, although a bit old (but that's not a Marriott either, so manage your expectations). The bed was excellent. The bathroom facilities in my room were perfectly maintained and immaculately clean, so there were no issues whatsoever.

The hotel premises are a merger of two adjacent buildings with different floor levels which means there's a lot of awkward steps on the way where under normal circumstances there should be none. This is clearly not something that can be fixed - but keep in mind that this place is not suitable for anyone who cannot deal with the omnipresent stairways.

Great value for money. Location is at walking distance to many shops, cafes, restaurants and public transport. You can even walk to the CBD from here. WiFi connection was great. The room I had (121) was basic but it was clean and had everything that I needed for the short stay. Nice firm mattress and pillows.

The room (121) had no view but it was mentioned in the listing and I did not mind this. There are a few stairs going up to the upper lift which could be problematic for those less able trying to move luggage. The bath has no plug. The fridge does not really get cold. The kettle is probably due for a replacement.

I felt that I very much got what I paid for. I was looking for a place to stay on a budget that was not a hostel, and this was perfect for that. A self-contained room with everything necessary for my stay. I am certain that I will stay there again as it was ideal for my needs.

The only thing that I might have wished for was a microwave. Having said that, having a kettle was great, and for the price that I was paying, it would not have been reasonable to expect every single bell and whistle. I had everything that I needed.

Great location, close to train station and only 30 minutes walk to Allianz Stadium. Comfortable beds, great shower and water pressure. Windows that opened, good view, and very quiet. Man on front desk was so helpful in getting us a taxi.

It was dated but adds to charm of the heritage building. There was several corridors, luckily our room was pretty straightforward to get to from the lift. It would have been good if the restaurant was operating for breakfast.

Location is very good . A small window gave a pleasant though limited view of Elizabeth Bay. Aircon was very welcome, also some fresh air from the window. A bath was great. Reception was helpful booking a taxi for me, which was much appreciated.

The iron in the laundry dirtied my shirt ,it needs cleaning , I nearly went to buy a new one, I’m not sure if that’s anything to do with the DeVere , but I think it is somehow associated with the business. Steps at the entrance made lugging a challenge.

We received a warm welcome, prompt checkin and extra pillows on request. The room contained a small kitchenette and bathroom with bath(!). For the rate, this was unexpectedly good. The room appears to have recently been refreshed, although it’s a bit of a nostalgic return to the 1970’s with working bedside cabinet switches for lights, TV and very effective air conditioning. A vast choice of food options and some good local walks and bused to Central and to the Quay/Millers are just outside the door.

It’s not modern but it is very well maintained and everything works. The bathroom may look a little tired but that did not matter to us.

Surprisingly comfortable stay for Mother & Son. Room larger than expected. Comfortable beds and good AC Useful kitchenette with small fridge & sink. We were able to self-cater although we had brought plates & cutlery with us. Great supermarket across the road. Useful laundry facilities for travellers (but bring some washing powder & pegs) Convenient location just short walk from Kings Cross station (shame about the homeless, door sleepers on the way)

Bathroom extremely tired and whole hotel is quite shabby and in need of redecorating & cleaning. Hotel has no facilities or cafeteria. Local restaurants are good or very good but some were extremely expensive. Staff are polite but not overly friendly. Had to work during stay and room WiFi was not strong enough so had to use staff Wifi login and sit at reception
