We’ve stayed at the Thunderbird twice before, both times in Winter and on wet and miserable weekends. On each occasion the motel has offered warm, spacious comfort with the shower a highlight. We didn’t get to eat in the on-site restaurant this time around but it’s a must if you’re staying. Definitely our go to in Yass.

Just a bit of noise from other guests as they pass by outside but nothing overly intrusive. Car park (a legacy of the original buildings) is also not great if you have a nice car but there’s other space available which, knowing the property, we opted to leave our car in.

This room was soooo impressive ! It was huge, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Extra towels were already in the room which is great for the ladies washing long hair. I loved that there was complimentary water and enjoyed the "little pleasures" after a long drive from Melbourne of fresh milk and delicious cookies to have with a cuppa. The parking was right at the front door and the staff were Amazing !! I've already re-booked !!

The only thing I didn't like was that we were too late to sample the attached "highly rated" Restaurant !! Maybe next time we are in town!

Bed was comfy, shower was hot (although didn't like the large shower head, prefer one with a hose) Plates, cups, glasses, cutlery supplied. Parking outside of unit was great. Fridge was good had a freezer compartment that worked and big enough to hold a few freezer bricks. Yass is a lovely town with lots of cafes, restaurants, hotels, clubs for dinner. Supermarket if you don't want to go out.

Noise from room above, heavy banging, footsteps, etc. Could have been cleaner, dining chairs needed wiping with antibac spray, dirty marks, hairs and dust on them. Not much bench space to use electric kettle and toaster.As

The room was very spacious and suitable for our family of 5. The room was very clean with a modern look and feel. The location was great and in walking distance to the town center and a nice pub for dinner. Very happy with our choice of hotel.

A staff member in the restaurant for breakfast was not super friendly or happy. He didn't appear very tolerant of our children, actually came across as somewhat annoyed by us/them.

As we have just returned to interstate travel using a motor vehicle after many years of using aircraft, we loved the opportunity to driving through country towns. The room was spacious enough to not feel cramped and the menu at the restaurant was pleasantly surprising for 'country'. Yass is a charming town with so much colonial architecture, we just loved our time there. You are also within walking distance of the cafes.

The air conditioner wasn’t working very well to cool the room- not sure if it was an issue with the fan

Towels in the bathroom were quality! Soft and fluffy. Toiletries in bathroom were lovely. Great idea to have the heater in the bathroom. Reverse cycle heater/ air conditioner in room was modern. Tea and coffee were above average…. Nice to have the option of hot chocolate. Room was spacious and clean. Curtains were blockout… yay! Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

No Netflix. Property has upstairs and downstairs rooms. Luggage may need to be carried upstairs which can be tricky in the rain.

Large spacious room. Very clean. Has all the facilities you could need. Staff checked us in over the phone prior to arrival so the room was ready on arrival with easy access. Overall a very comfortable room.

The full flush on the toilet didn't work but got around this by holding down the half flush button. Could hear the water rushing loudly in the pipes when the person below our unit was taking a shower but didn't affect our stay or sleep as it occurred only once during our stay.... could be annoying if they had a shower late at night or very early in the morning.

The room was excellent being quite large. The bathroom was also very good. The motel is well placed being within walking distance of most places. The staff were very friendly and approachable.

One reason I booked this hotel was because I planned to use the restaurant on the Saturday but when we arrived we were advised that the restaurant was booked out on that day. We used it on the Friday but a little disappointed that placed at a table in a corner when there were vacant tables elsewhere and close to the fireplace.

Room was comfortable and very clean. Couldn't hear noise from other rooms at all so soundproofing must be good! Bed was very comfortable and room was a good size for 1 adult and 2 teenagers.

Even though the shower head was huge (yay!) it was in an awkward spot so if you turned on the water standing outside the shower water went all over the floor. If you stood inside you couldn't turn on the water without standing in the stream so checking the temperature of the water was difficult. Minor inconvenience though
