Beautiful location, set in the magnificent counryside on an historic country property. Olde-worlde charm, huge rooms, high ceilings and a billiard room were the standouts in our 'wing'. We felt very welcomed by the delightful hosts who treated us to a lovely glass of wine as we sat on the huge verandah looking down the rather grand drive to the house. After a very comfortable nights sleep in the incredibly quiet room we were treated to an expansive continental breakfast with local fresh bread, jersey cow's milk and a proper 'Nespresso' coffee to start the day. If you're after a glimpe of Australia's genteel country life you won't be disappointed with a stay here. We just stayed overnight on our way from Melbourne to Sydney but I'd recommend staying a few more days to really soak up the atmosphere. Top marks if you're looking for something different with a bit of substance!

Just a word of warning, the road from the main raod to the property has some stretches with large pot-holes so drive with a bit of caution.

It was just so lovely to be able to stay at such an authentically historic property . The rooms, the antiques and the garden ! Our room was warm and peaceful even on our rainy stay ! The continental breakfast was tasty and ample to set us up for a day of exploring. Seating at the huge antique dining table was such an experience and there were numerous cosy spots to relax . However, the best part of the stay was our interactions with Rob and Ning . They were such interesting people who freely gave of their time to make sure that we felt welcome and knew of local food choices, restaurants , wineries and local attractions. What improvements they have made to their gardens! We felt very welcome .

Everything was clean and comfortable but as this is a historic house, the bathrooms may not be an ensuite. We thought it was quite interesting and unique to use a 1930’s bathroom of which we had exclusive use. Others might expect new decor but be prepared that this house is full of antiques and has the quirkiness that is evident in older houses. It was a bit tricky to find but using our GPS and Ning’s directions it was not really a problem .

Our breakfast was made extra special by the setting of the most beautiful crockery & cutlery placed in the magnificent dining area. A freshly made fruit salad was an extra delicious touch.

That we personally couldn't stay longer. There was nothing we didn't like.

Beautiful setting, beautiful hospitality, lovely dining room where we enjoyed a great breakfast. Beautiful grounds despite some recent storm damage. Just a short drive outside Yass, Ning our host contacted us in advance with very helpful directions. I mentioned an anniversary to our hosts, and Rob found us a complimentary bottle of French Champaign to celebrate!

Hosts were friendly, room was very complete. It felt like we were staying somewhere that was part of the local history.

It would have been nice to be able to use the billiard table.

Beautiful location (quiet and serene) and grounds are stunning. Rustic accommodation but everything you need. The hosts were wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make you feel at home and to explain the history of the estate. A very enjoyable couple of days and we will definitely stay again. Murrumbateman wineries are nearby so a convenient place to stay if you are planning to visit some of them. .. or just want a relaxing night away from town.

There isn't anything we didn't like!

Breakfast was excellent and set in a lovely dining room with an open fire.

The only down side was that there is no ensuite with this property. You don't have to share, but it is a short distance from the bedroom.

The homestead is a step back to a other age with beautifully furnished bedrooms, a grand dining room with Royal Albert chinaware, a log fire in the lounge, a full billiards room, old books, photos, memorabilia. The hosts, Ning and Rob, are genuinely intent on making your stay as comfortable as possible. The house is set amongst lush gardens at their farm making for an incredibly peaceful rest. It’s not far from some super wineries.
