That the location was great.

Better instruction on where the key was left for after hours arrival. The email instructions I received was not the correct instructions when speaking to the after hour staff. Very disappointed to get to third floor when and the key was in the locked PO Box downstairs and have to go back and forth. The box was left opened and we did not need any combination to open. The lift was also very slow and needs maintenance big time as it takes ages to go up and coming down. My first impression was that the lift is stuck and that put me in a panic mode.

We arrived a bit early and the manager kindly checked us in early. We were given a recently upgraded suite which was beautifully clean and very comfortable, with everything we needed. It had a private outdoor area, very close to the pool (which was also pristine). We were right next door to the night markets and the esplanade but despite that our unit was very quiet, no street noise whatsoever. Also an easy 10 minute walk to cairns central and the train station. Having a laundry was great as it meant not having to take clothes home to wash.

The WiFi reception was very poor. We could only get adequate WiFi if we sat in a specific area in the lounge. We were told we could use it easily in public areas, but that's not very appealing, as I'd rather be able to do so in the privacy and comfort of my own room.

The location was excellent. Minutes walk to the esplanade lagoon and nice restaurants/ cafes. Night markets were pretty much next door. Aquarium only a few mins walk, as was the reef fleet terminal. Perfect location. The beds were the most comfy I’ve ever slept in (including my own!) Pool was nice too.

Whilst the property was very safe and too needed key access out of area, it felt odd not having a reception manned 24hrs. The lifts were very slow but this wasn’t an issue.

Considering we were so close to the night life of Cairns, it was very quiet. The room was so inviting and clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was provided that we needed for our short stay. Shops and restaurants were close by.

The method of getting in after hours is pathetic. Lucky for us, another customer came along and let us in with his key. The non english speaking person expected me to be able to punch in the code immediately as he said it, without considering that the door was around the corner and away from the speaker. The code did not work in any case. He just hung up! Thank you to the other patron for letting us weary travelers in so late at night.

Finding a place in Cairns last minute was very hard, but I was quite satisfied with Il Palazzo apartments. The staff was very kind and helpful, I really appreciated that. The apartment was nice, probably a bit old, but it did the job. The pool was very nice too. The location is definitely the strength of this apartment along with staff and customer service.

The room was facing the internal garden with the pool and that made me feel like I didn't have much privacy sometimes.

Great location, just around the corner to lots of restaurants and cafes. Spacious, comfortable and renovated room. Great spacious bathroom with good rainhead shower and water pressure. Fancy automated smart toilet!

The smart toilet was actually a bit over the top. It would lift the lid every time you walked into the bathroom. It would make noises and clean itself at odd times. Slippery tiles on stairs when coming down from the pool, be careful!

We were upgraded to a 'luxury room' which was excellent. Room was very well appointed, spacious and very comfortable. The location of the property is great, next to the night markets and one street back from the esplanade in Cairns. Easy walking distance to everything. Secure under cover car parking.

Nothing not to like. The bonus of the upgrade was great. We have stayed at the property on a few other occasions and some of the rooms or a little dated.

I felt so safe staying here as a solo female traveller for 5 nights. The location is amazing, woolies is across the road, its right above the night markets & the lagoon/esplanade is around the corner. Lovely helpful staff & they were able to check me in early!

I couldn't sit in my outdoor area because it was just three mouldy plastic chairs, while other rooms got nicer ones.

location was great so close to everything. staff were amazing, accomodating, friendly, helpful.

rooms were a good size and clean with everything we needed in the room. couch was not very comfortable to sit and watch a movie but short rests was ok, the bed wasn't very comfortable, pillows were great though. Hotel is a bit dated and in need of some TLC and upgrading.

Location was fantastic, walking distance for Esplanade, markets, restaurants and galleries. Just parked the car on arrival and it stayed there til we left. Helpful & welcoming reception on arrival and terrific secure parking. Got a great deal too considering in school holiday period

Minor problems with shower adjustment and pressure and toilet cistern noisy if button not fully pressed down. Units could do with a refresh but overall very satisfied with our stay
