Mackay Rose Motel

The Rose is clean, comfortable and convenient. Staff were welcoming. Bed was very comfortable. Hot shower with very good pressure. Breakfast had a wide selection of cereals, spreads, toast and raisin bread plus juice and coffee, tea and Milo.

Noisy people (not partying, just generally noisy)can't be helped. Traffic noise was negligible. The tiled floor is very uneven.

Location was excellent as we travelling through Mackay it was central Had our evening meal there great value and good food

Breakfast which was included in the price was a little disappointing not much choice and no staff on hand although speaking to the owner the night before he did advise he was looking to bring in a buffet style breakfast in the future

Free Breakfast was great, all you could want. Tea, coffee, cereal, toast and pancakes. The room was clean, smelt fresh on opening the door. Air conditioner was also on , so a nice welcome when you get out the car on a hot day. Just across the road is the Shamrock hotel, great meals and bottle shop

The breakfast was simple, cereal, toast, pancakes juice, tea, coffer, but we enjoyed it. It was very convenient for us.

I was a little disappointed in my evening meal, the rissoles where dry, some veg was undercooked some was overcooked, the mash was nice. My daughter had lasagne chips and salad, it was nice. The meal size is generous.

Incredible value for money. The room was great, with a super comfortable bed and very quiet. My dinner was sensational and the staff were all very friendly and helpful . As a regular traveller, I can definitely recommend staying here. I know I will on my next trip to Mackay.

Very clean unit. with all amenities serviced well....little table and chairs inside was great!!! The owners were very nice and made you feel very comfortable staying at their motel The free continental breakfast was such a treat...loved the self serve pancakes too... 😋 Great location on the highway without much noise.

My partner found the bed too firm and the bathroom a little squeezy Some of the furniture was a little dated Louvres need a security screen over them so they could be opened... would have preferred to open them for ventilation rather than aircon!! Perhaps a ceiling fan would help,too.

Pretty nice. Bread, Cereal, milk and orange juice are provided.

Aircon is too cold. The room itself is actually cool enough without aircon tho 😎 Also the parking spaces are quite small. But I think it's the same in a lot of other motels

Super friendly staff, rooms were comfy, clean and had everything we needed for a quick one night stopover. Basic breakfast on offer.

Due to it being a pretty last minute booking, we’d obviously gotten one of the last rooms available which ended up being right next to the restaurant/function room. We were lucky enough to book the same night a birthday party was being held there. Quite noisy right next to the room and the room had timber shutters instead of windows so it made it really noisy. It wasn’t obnoxious and it didn’t go too late so wasn’t the end of the world, just a bit annoying. Possibly need to look at swapping out the shutters for some windows to lessen the noise.

absolutely love this property. the owners are so nice, welcoming you to the hotel, remembering your name and having a chat. we have stayed here 4 times now and will always stay here when we are travelling through Mackay. clean rooms, quiet, breakfast included is great. such a wonderful place to stay, great value.

Great location, room was comfortable with all the facilities we needed. close to everything , free breakfast was a bonus . Staff are very friendly and caring . Thank you for giving us a different room type as I originally booked without extra charge.
