Ellis Beach Oceanfront Holiday Park

This is true beachfront accomodation in cabins or camping. Cabins slowly being renovated once peak season is over. There is a Bar and Grill close by if you eat out but there are also a full kitchen facilities and crockery etc if you want to eat in.your cabin. Front deck of cabin overlooks the beach a few steps away. Listen to the waves and curlews at night. Other residents quiet and location perfect for long beach walks. This is an older facility but we are retired and prefer beachfront retro to luxury Cairns city prices. Nude beach mentioned in other reviews was a long way south so nowhere near us.

Some dated handles and a few cracked tiles. Could offer extra pillows. If you are fussy just bring your own.

Exceptional because we stepped out of our cabin onto beachfront n patio was like an extended room to laze away n listen to sound of lapping waves / beautiful beaches to walk along either way - well & truly got in 10 000 steps! Grand service at Ellis Beach bar grill within east walk/very helpful office crew; couldn’t have asked for better weather & when heat stepped up great aircon still with beach views outside our front door so all in all a superb couple of days.

Furnishings are a little weary but it was still comfy and with the sea at our door, definitely no complaints. More than enough for our needs

Neat, clean and with its own deck on the beachfront. A decent sized fridge. Although near the main road, traffic noise was negligible and I noticed none during the night. Lovely to hear the gentle waves and wake up to the sunrise. The bed and pillows were really comfortable.

Proximity to neighbouring cabins means some lack of privacy when you're on the deck. Cigarette smoke from neighbours was inescapable. Decor and furniture is basic, but apparently cabin upgrades are in progress.

Location is amazing and we had a beach side bungalow. The beach is beautiful and clean and can keep in the shade underneath the palm trees. The bungalow itself is clean with very basic amenities (although in line with what you would expect)

Although we knew it was far from palm cove - ie a 50 min walk there is no safe way to walk there with the exception of a busy quite dangerous road. Maybe it was our naivety of the local area but really you need a car or have to pay for taxis as there is no other way of getting there. Also the bungalow is clean but very dated and for a cleaning service or clean towels you have to pay extra. The place can get very sandy very quickly so just be warned

Beachfront! And good to have cooking facilities and lots of space.

Traffic noise. But luckily the sound of the sea generally drowned it out. You wouldn't want to have a cabin closer to the road. We booked 2 cabins and the older one was not as good as the newer one. Tiny single beds and room so our son slept touching both walls head & foot.

You cannot beat sitting oceanside on your balcony and enjoying a drink, whilst listening to the waves roll in. Our stay was in summer, so we used the air-conditioning, however a stay in the cooler months, where you can leave the windows and doors open, to sleep to the tranquility of the oceanside, would be perfect. A stroll to the swimming nets and the pub across the road, makes for a great weekend away.

The views, it felt like we were staying on an island in Hawaii. Rain forest behind us, beach in front. The sunrise absolutely stunning.

March flies, it was bad timing. The little buggars were relentless. The only way we could sit outside is spraying extra strength tropical sticky insect repellent. They aren't around for long, apparently only 2 weeks. Bad timing for us. But to be honest, it was still worth it, to sit outside and look at that view.

The location of the Bungalow was excellent. Right on the beach (which was an excellent beach) and easy access to the Atherton Tablelands and north to the Daintree. We had a couple of issues early and the "fix-it" guys were very prompt a helpful. Mostly it was as quiet as we hoped for.

The cabin is a bit dated and while it was comfortable and all necessities provided the TV was very small and the A/C cooled the bedroom but not the whole Cabin.

Quiet area. Being by the ocean, the cool deck right next to it, swaying she oaks and palms. stone curlew birds wandering around. Watering hole walking distance- check opening hrs.

Our cabin was dated and needed a spring clean, but staff told us that the plan was to upgrade them all. Maybe ask for an upgraded one. Even though it was a bit cramped, and had to pay for wifi, it had everything we needed.

Amazing location - step out of your bungalow and onto the beach! Beautiful section of the coast and very relaxing stay, with the sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep each night!

The accommodation is priced very fairly, but whilst clean, spacious and comfortable, those looking for high-end luxury may be disappointed…but if that’s what you’re looking for here, you’re probably missing the point…
