I was given a ground floor unit. The amenities in this accommodation are old, clean and comfortable. The kitchen area has a proper sink, the refrigerator has a separate freezer and is really good. The unit is convenient to a hotel where lunch and dinner can be had, as well as other food outlets close by. This accommodation also has a small Cafe attached for breakfast, brunch or lunch and closes st midday but opens early. Reasonably priced and the food is varied to suit all diets. This is the second time staying here and more then likely will do so again when next travelling north.

No real issues,

It was small but comfortable, with enough bench-space to be able to do what we needed to do without having to multi-stack anything. The room had good thermal-mass, meaning that the air-conditioning did not have to work too hard. Location was perfect for our purposes.

My only niggles were with the size of the refrigerator (small, although BONUS! it had a respectable and working freezer compartment), and no hot-water connection to the kitchenette sink, so washing glasses and dishes required using the electric kettle; OH&S people would have kittens.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - especially during the build up and during the cyclone. Stayed here during Cyclone Kirrily and slept like a baby due to well insulated quiet rooms. Location is fantastic 👌. We had a 2 bedroom unit and yes it's old, but was fantastic value for money and lots of space! Parking was easy to get in and out and would easily accommodate a large 4WD.

The Strand motel is in excellent location. Just a few steps to everything. Coffee shops, restaurants beach is literally in front of your door. Their own coffee shop was open only for breakfast which had a wide range of classic western style of breakfast, delicious coffee and warm and friendly service. Food was delicious and yummy. Special thanks to Garry and Robyn for their friendly, professional service and kindness. The Motel building itself is an old building in need of major renovation Resent outside painting looks nice but it could not cover the need of new material to match modern facilities, venues in and around the area.

The management was great any problems or wants was immediate. It’s an old motel not renovated but very clean and tidy . Loved the location directly across from the beach definitely loved the cafe attached and just walking out of room to get a coffee . Cafe a bit noisy needs rubber seals in chairs as noisy on the tiles @ 6 am each day , but food and service was great

The Strand Motel is the perfect location, right on the Strand and walking distance into town, with Coles right around the corner for any groceries you might need. The staff were friendly, and while it was a little outdated, it was clean with a comfortable bed and cold air con - just what you need in Townsville! The kitchette was small, but functional with a fridge/freezer of decent size. The Cafe offered large servings and wasn't too overpriced for breakfast.

Just a small couple of things which really would be just me nitpicking. There was only a lace covering over the bathroom window that made me feel uneasy, even though I was on the second floor, so I had to put up a towel for my own assurance. There was no shade whatsoever over the pool. We would have spent more of our down time in there, if there was at least a little shade. Whenever the room next door used their bathroom taps or shower, we could hear the pipes through the walls, even with the bathroom door closed. Their late night showers woke both my daughter and myself up.

Best location on the Strand. You really can't beat the position here. Clean, basic rooms with everything you need. Kettle, toaster and microwave in the room. Clean and tidy. Amazing water pressure in the shower. Super friendly and helpful staff. Let us check in early and held our bags after check out. If you are looking for a super modern place this may not be for you, but if you are looking for a clean and friendly place at a great price in the best part of Townsville then this is for you.

Fantastic position very handy to shops and cafes, Robyn is lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her, really appreciated her help with check out. Great walking along the strand, plenty of shade too

Booking.com didnt quite describe it right as they called a concrete pad out the front a veranda, as it was ground level could hardly be described as a veranda

Perfect location and even an ocean view whilst on the small verandah. It was clean and adequate for an overnight stay. very compact but suitable for two and the beach, just across the road provides all the space you could want.

Happy that there were no guests beside our rooms who smoked as we would not have been able to escape it as the veranda decks are very close to each other. I aways like an oven, a little air fryer oven would be a great addition.

I love location and its very clean. Full kitchenette is a bonus. Private balconies are great. Cafe downstairs is great too.if you need food before 12.noon. Bed was perfect for me. 2 bottles of small milk is nice touch. Rooms are charming in an old school way.

On my stay there was noise from some guys with Harleys early in morning. Ask for room on side away from parking noise! There was mould in bathroom shower, it is overall very clean but some stuff needs Fixing up. No shampoos given, just soap. Hotel seems very busy now, so noise betweeen rooms can be noticeable.
