This motel is in a great location, just down the road from Bass Strait and easy to go everywhere we wanted to go while there. Very easy, helpful and friendly check in. Sparkly clean room, very comfortable beds and lovely hot shower. Well equipped with crockery and cutlery. Shops were easy to find and not very far away. Great car park with plenty of room to manoeuvre the car and reverse park at the door. Having a washing machine and dryer onsite was wonderful and much appreciated. Free Wi-Fi was also very much appreciated. Well laid out Family Room, a separate bedroom for the children was great.

The staff were great - I sent an e-mail before arriving to enquire about mattress firmness and got a good response very quickly. The manager also rang me when I was away from my room to ask if I'd like a microwave seeing as I would be there for a few days. I've never had that kind of service/thoughfulness before. And a coffee maker with pods - if my husband had been with me, he would have been very grateful. I don't drink coffee but know how much something like this is appreciated by those who do. It was probably the cleanest room I've ever been in, and even though the decor was 1990s, it was in immaculate condition. And the towels were really soft and fluffy, with lovely soft bed linen too.

A mattress upgrade to something with a cushion top is in order. People who need some "give" in a mattress to contour for curves or injury or arthritis really need something a bit more cushioned. But because I received a reply to my query on this, I was able to pack a foam cover and was prepared - which wasn't perfect, but certainly made my sleep quality better than it would otherwise have been. People who like firm mattresses can still sleep on softer ones, but the reverse, unfortunately, isn't true. The bed wasn't hard, but it was definitely medium to firm.

The room was comfortable and the bed was really comfortable. The water was lovely and hot and loved the dispensers of soap they were lovely.. I would recommend to friends to stay there. The towels were lovely and nice to have hand towel and bathmat as well as face washers, well done.

This is not a criticism but something you might want to consider. The draught under the door, there was quite a gap and was very cold. The shower could do with a grab rail as there is no where apart from the basin area to support yourself, as the shower can be very slippery.

To illustrate how clean it was: Sunday around 2 PM saw a cleaning girl wiping the outsides of doors down, not lazy.

We booked for 2 nights. The 1st was Saturday when there were a total of 8 Units occupied out of about 30. We were put right next door to a person who chain smoked outside his room. This smoke blew into our room through the mosquito net above the door. Also he watched TV almost all night. The walls are only 2 sheets of plaster so we could hear his TV. He did turn it down once I asked him to. Thoughtfulness in the office would have placed us one unit away from another guest. Of course the Sunday night was all booked out for travellers on the ferry for Monday morning so this comment only applies to when there are vacant units.

Fantastic location, loved that it was right near the water. Had a washing machine and dryer which was great.

The washing machine and dryer only took 2 doller coins and the front desk would t assist us with getting cash, was pretty inconvenient that we had to make a trip to the shops to buy 2 doller coins. Curtains in the kids room were not black out blinds/ did not cut out much light, was very difficult to get our child to sleep.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly, with opening hours adjusted to accommodate the daylight sailing of the Spirit of Tasmania ferry. There were complimentary cereals for breakfast and bottle of water, which was not expected as not mentioned when booking. Above all, the unit slept 4 people (double and two singles in a separate room) for less than $200 on New Years Eve, right next to Devonport's waterfront and entertainment hub for the night.

Nothing - no problems at all. Fireworks at midnight were noisy as they were so close but that is a once a year issue (and I am not a grinch about New Years fireworks).

The property is well located near the Bluff and adjacent to walking paths by the ocean. Parking is easy and the unit, while a little dated, is comfortable and more than adequate. What made my stay exceptional was the staff in particular Helen for whom nothing was too much trouble. She kindly brought me a microwave, stored some of my food items in her personal freezer, and gave me local recommendations. The hospitality industry needs more Helens. I stayed 4 nights and was very comfortable and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

My dislikes were purely cosmetic I.e. some of the furniture was a bit dated. Of course this didn’t affect its use. Be aware that many travelers leave very early in the morning so if you’re looking to sleep later than about 6 or 7am, simply download a white noise app on your phone. It will help buffer any noise that might interrupt your sleep.

When I arrived at reception the lady actually noticed my mother in the car. She has limited mobility and uses a walker. The lady on reception went out of her way to rearrange a disabled room with a shower chair. In most cases I don't worry too much about a special room because unless there is a shower chair it is no use. The bathroom was excellent and the service is to be commended as over and above. It’s not often, being short, that I hit my head on things. Kept hitting my head on unit under TV when accessing bags. Basin taps small, found difficult to turn at times.

Many travelers had come from the Spirit of Tasmania would have thought they would have reception open. However, arrangements were made to collect. No meals or food available. Not in center of town but only 5 mins away. The bed was low and hard to get out of especially if you have a bad back,
