Peaceful, private. Perfect. This property was so much more than we expected. Spacious yet cosy and the beds were warm and comfy. A delicious cheeseboard on arrival was a lovely welcoming after a long journey. Breakfast supplies were plentiful and delicious and the location was perfect for sightseeing in the Devonport area. What a treat. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back. Thank you to the lovely owners for sharing this wonderful place. We couldn’t fault a thing. Oh and we loved the early morning visits from the resident peacock. 10 out of 10.

Truly splendid, high quality, stand-alone, fully self contained cabin-like accommodation about 2km from town in a forest setting abounding in wildlife. We were welcomed on arrival and thanked on departure. We absolutely loved the pademelons wandering around, the ducks which marched by at dusk, the parrots in the tree, plus other tiny birds.

The WiFi did not connect to the internet, but that seems to be common with NBN in Tasmania. We used our own 4G modem which worked fine. Breakfast was a disappointment, no bread and limited, ordinary condiments. We do understand how difficult it is to provide breakfast provisions when you've got no idea what the customers like. It was easy to buy what we wanted at the nearby supermarkets. The provided cereals were good, and the bacon and eggs were great though.

We loved the location and all the things that related to the roosters rest theme . The breakfast and fruit savoury tray was lovely . The cottage was beautiful and clean . It was very peaceful and quiet and we loved seeing the chickens ,geese ,ducks , peacocks etc . There was a fire pit and bbq that we didn’t use but were nice places to spend time outside the cottage . Lovely gardens and surrounds .

Face washers in the bathroom so you could use the liquid body wash supplied . Better information about accessing the wifi and which one to use as well as clarifying the password. A dishwasher and clothes dryer would also be excellent additions to the cottage .

The environment was fabulous! Beautiful bush setting. Peaceful. Attractive. Amazing bird-life - including a peacock!

The TV was small and it wasn't a smart television. DVD's were provided but very old and outdated. Some travellers may not find this important but older couples, like us, enjoy our nightly viewing on streaming channels. Would love to stay again but not unless the TV was upgraded to a larger, smart TV.

We were most looking forward to our stay at Roosters Rest and it didn't disappoint. There was a lovely selection of cheese, meats and fruit on arrival. The cabin was nestled amongst the trees and felt very private even though there was another cabin and the main house fairly close. It was lovely to see free range chooks in the garden, a couple of pademelons and even a peacock. We come from a farm so it felt like home away from home.

Not criticisms, just suggestions. I like Vegemite but for some reason not many places provide it as well as weetbix. A coffee pod machine would be the icing on the cake for me but there was a coffee plunger with ground coffee provided. Also, it would be good if the big window up the top had a blind at night time. It's very bright in the morning and it comes in on the bed. These suggestions did not detract from our stay in any way. They are purely suggestions. It would have been nice to meet our host just to say hello and thank you for the wonderful stay.

Fantastic place to stay. I loved the cabin and especially the delicious platter awaiting us. As I had been too stressed and busy to eat the previous couple of days (due to moving overseas) the platter was so appreciated. It was delicious and nourishing. I wish we had been able to stay longer to be able to really enjoy the place.

There was nothing to dislike at all. I am only disappointed that we didn’t get to spend much time there as we had to head to the airport at 4:30am

Beautifully designed cottage with generous provisions - homemade bread and muffins to welcome and bacon and eggs, yoghurt and French juice in the fridge for breakfast. Location is near the serene Port Sorrell coastline with its sheltered beaches, white sand and red lichen coloured rocks. The Narawntapu National Park, which has both heathlands and an expansive coastline is close by.

The provisions provided for breakfast were amazing! And the cheese platter on arrival was a lovely touch that we really appreciated. The accommodation was comfortable and the family cottage was a perfect size for our family. Lots of places to sit and watch the wildlife outside. It was a nice quiet area and we felt very relaxed and recharged while staying here.

Amazing. Stayed two nights one bedroom cottage. Spacious and exceptionally presented. Beautiful platter on arrival. Breakfast selection huge so much choice. So peaceful and quiet. Lovely balcony and gardens to sit and enjoy, 2-3 min drive from shopping centre including supermarket, chemist, bakery, bottle shop, good Chinese restaurant. Another 5 min drive to coffee shops and more restaurants. Excellent base for exploring the north east of Tasmania. Highly recommended. Thankyou for sharing your piece of paradise.

Fab location - peaceful and quiet but an easy drive or walk to Port Sorell. Lovely dog friendly accommodation. We had a very late arrival and hosts had left us a cheese platter in the fridge which was very much appreciated. Breakfast provisions were also great. Cottage was very clean and comfy and we would definitely stay again
