A very clean and welcoming hotel with a view of the water. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was located right by the shopping and restaurants in this town. We had a nice walk during the afternoon through the nearby park towards the lighthouse. The restaurant downstairs had an Asian menu and my dinner was delicious. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant were all great.

We were traveling without a car and It would have been nice to have a shuttle to and from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry terminal. The ferry dock looks so close to the hotel, but it is across the Mersey River, so you had to drive around via the Bass Highway. We needed to hire an Uber to get to the hotel.

The room was well set up, the beds were comfortable and there was sufficient storage. The staff were helpful. There are restaurants nearby and in the hotel. Parking is secure though it costs extra. It is not far from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal and is fairly central to supermarkets with a good view.

There were insufficient hangers in the wardrobe and no outdoor seating available on the balcony attached to the room. There were limited amenities in the bathroom- no toothbrush & toothpaste, razor and only 1 bath mat. It’s important to check the bill before it is finalised for payment - I was overcharged significantly for the breakfasts for the 3 of us by a few hundred dollars. I didn’t receive a hard copy of the bill on checkout and requested it be emailed to me. I was in a hurry to pay and get on to the Spirit of Tasmania which had very limited 5G or no reception on the Bass Strait. But the Novotel did email the bill when I requested it the next day because it hadn’t been and they did process the refund promptly when I queried the charges.

Premium feel with lovely decor; everything was clean and in excellent condition. The staff were helpful, The breakfast buffet was nice and excellent value for anyone traveling with children.

I traveled with a child and could really have used a little more space. The room was maybe on the small side of average, very efficiently laid out with two queen beds and just enough room to walk past them. There's no way you'd get two people in the bathroom at once. I found no common areas other than the restaurant (my child had several friends in the hotel; I know this is unusual though).

That staying at the Novotel Devonport has reset my parameters for excellence. Being so IT savvy was a highlight.

The elevator had two sets of panels for floor selection on either side of the lift. But only had a card scanner, allowing access to accommodation floors on one side. The need to scan our door key wasn't mentioned nor did we see any sign. We felt a bit silly when another guest enter the lift, after we had been trying to select our floor unsuccessfully for 2-3 minutes, scanned her card on the other side of the elevator. Just a minor hiccup causing guest embarrassment.

Location was good, central to shopping, dining, and parklands. Bed was comfortable.

Parking options were limited. Having to pay $25 to park in the carpark of a hotel you have already paid to stay in. Valet parking was the only option, which then meant that you couldn't go to your car if you had left anything in there, and each time you went out you had to let staff know in advance that you needed your vehicle. The other option was parking on the street or in a council carpark 1 or 2 blocks away. Rooms were smaller than expected, entry into the room was tight, particularly if you used the luggage trolley. The bathroom was small,, the vanity top and storage was very limited, meaning the hairdryer had to be kept out with the kettle.

The view was fabulous as I asked for a sea view and got it. The valet services were fabulous, and the staff on the front desk were also friendly and gave outstanding service. I hope you don't let that drop!!!

Bathroom was a little small, but it did its job, and after all you didn't need it for long. The tissues were on the bottom shelf, maybe they should be either on the bench or a little higher in the cupboard. I have a sleep apnea machine and the bedside table was a little small to use, as it held the telephone, clock on it so not much room for the machine.

The room was large and clean. The view of the mouth of the river was great. The location was excellent. Staff at reception were lovely.

We booked breakfast with our room. Unfortunately, this was very disappointing. The restaurant was very busy and clearly understaffed. The food was luke warm and soaked with oil. We ordered 2 coffees before we even sat down, and then waited more than 30 minutes. We approached the girl making the coffees, and she said that she didn't have our order and would make our drinks next. So we waited another 15 minutes and still no coffee. We got up to leave, and she had our drinks for us, said that she would put them in takeaway cups for us. She just tipped them into 2 tiny takeaway cups and handed them over. To add insult to injury, they weren't even the correct drinks, and they were cold. Very disappointing.

Brand new Hotel, on-site restaurant, bar and room service. Clean, new and very comfortable. Great front of house/reception staff. Great views if you are in a room facing the port.

Hotel itself was great, However inadequate parking - the hotel did not appear busy or fully booked but there was no parking available. No outdoor furniture on the balcony to sit and enjoy the view. For the restaurant - the Thai curry at the restaurant was not the greatest - extra charge to have chicken and received barely any. Mostly green beans in the curry and lacking balance of other ingredients. TV will only take chrome cast, I couldn't find a way to watch Amazon Prime/Disney+ or other streaming services so not much in the way of entertainment and local TV not great.

The location was convenient for the city. The room was clean and comfortable. The aircon worked well and maintained its temperature throughout the night.

The valet parking service was difficult as finding a place to leave your car out the front was not always easy. Additionally, you had to nominate a time to collect your car; however, you could change this with some notice. It would have been easier and more convenient if you could just be given access to the parking area and park your own vehicle.

We absolutely loved our stay at Novotel Devonport. Definitely wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Devonport. The room was lovely and the staff were excellent. Couldn't fault our accommodation.

I didn't like the room service. The options were minimal for evening meals and breakfast. I had to ring reception because when my confirmation came through for my order, it didn't have the time I requested on it (in fact no time was listed). I ordered my food for 6:30 am and it did arrive a little after that, unfortunately the order was a little muddled. This wouldn't have happened if I had spoken to a person instead of typing in what I wanted. All could have been clarified at the time of order. Unfortunately, breakfast didn't make it before our departure at 7:45am. So I can't comment on the quality of the food.
