it was nice to be able to avoid the hustle and bustle of the inner city but still be close enough to enjoy the attractions there. the rooms were spacious and clean and the kitchen facilities were perfect for what we needed. we were able to catch a glimpse of the midnight NYE fireworks from the top of the car park. We were supposed to have one downstairs family room and one upstairs studio room with a view of the city however ended up with two downstairs family rooms (could have done with just one room if we knew this) we had to change our NYE plans but still enjoyed our stay.

The tiles in the bathroom and shower were VERY slippery when wet. The floor of the shower was on a lean toward the drain and it felt like you needed to hold on to something to avoid slip sliding around.

We could not have been happier about our two day stay at the Argyle Motor Lodge in Hobart. Located about 35 minutes walk (all downhill!) from Hobart's waterfront, it has ample free car parking, big rooms and a friendly and helpful set of reception staff. There was a laundry for guest use ($7 AUS including detergent!) and our lage room had a fridge (with milk), kettle (tea and coffee provided) a hair drier, good wardrobe space, a large bed, a table for eating or working and a great bathroom with a bath and a shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and our room was serviced nicely too. Close by was a superb bakery serving drop dead gorgeous croissants and pastries and coffee/te which made a splendid breakfast. I jogged down to the waterfront one morning (and back, uphill). But we did have a car with us, which made moving around easier. We paid £237 for two nights bed only. A bit expensive - but not compared to other Hobart prices!

room really comfy and so much room in the room it was huge great value for money close to everything plus the pub does an out standing steak ample parking at the hotel staff were all absolutely wonderful can't wait to stay again kind regards josh

only issue was the shower was not the best but that's me being picky everything Elles was fine

The room was fantastic. Extra big with lounge area for relaxing in. Extremeoly clean and well maintained. The location was handy to North Hobart shopping strip with plenty of eateries and only a 2km walk into Hobart proper and Salamanca.

Wifi connection did not work after following the instructions given to us. We did not follow-up with reception as it didn't bother us too much given we had plenty of our own data. That was our only dislike.

Pleasant staff at check in. Excellent location to the city with good bus service if required. Good value rates.

This establishment is starting to show its age and it will be a shame if an effort is not made in the near future to give it a bit of a face lift inside and out.

Wasn’t expecting much based on photos, but it was an excellent value for money! Staff were friendly and very helpful. Place was probably one of the tidiest and cleanest motels I’ve been in. Very comfortable stay and highly recommend if you’re in Hobart. Close to Hobart CBD (if you have a car) and close the the airport.

The TV facilities were an outdated with no streaming sites, but all other facilities were fantastic.

Stay on most occasions we travel to Hobart Roomy, comfortable, well equipped and great location.

The bed was a bit on the hard side for my comfort.

We chose Argyle for a late arrival and early departure for an early flight, and in this regard, it perfectly met our expectations. The staff was exceptionally friendly and supportive, enhancing our brief stay.

A great choice for a short stay with good views. Highly recommended

Price, location and cleanliness

You could not lock the room from inside. We had 2 small children and they could open the door and exit the room and room was close to main road. Need a latch or something on the inside to stop this
