Our room was spacious comfortable and clean…we liked the decor. Staff at reception were very friendly, always greeting us with a smile. Breakfast was excellent and the wait staff were very attentive. We enjoyed the dinner we had one night at the restaurant and the desserts were delicious. The coffee was good too. Excellent location close to shops and the wharf.

We had a rental car and found there was no available parking near the hotel so we decided it was more convenient to pay for valet parking. The only negative in regards to the room was that there was space for only one suitcase so we had to place one of the suitcases on the chaise seat which then meant that we weren’t able to sit on the chaise without moving the suitcase around

Again, the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for us, so close to all the places we wanted to be near. As soon as you step out the door you are in the central city. I was impressed that the person that checked me in remembered my name from my previous stay, almost 12 months ago. Seriously, nothing is an issue for the staff, they are happy to accommodate their guests, mind you we are not demanding ones, but they a super helpful and very easy to talk with.   The restaurant is great to pop into at anytime for a coffee or a wine, bonus was that we arrived right on Happy hour and enjoyed a couple of drinks. Chocolate hour was delicious too.

I am a huge fan of the Movenpick Hobart, my previous stay was fantastic, my room was outstanding, unfortunately this time around it was not as great. I asked for a lower floor room, I suffer from vertigo, and I was given an accessible room, which wasn't that much of an issue except there was very little storage in the room. No storage at all in the bathroom and very limited in the main room. I had to place all my toiletries on the floor and the sink had no room for my electric toothbrush, nor hairdryer nor straightener. It was not ideal at all given there wasn't any other place to use these items that had a mirror and a power point. I am not sure someone with a disability would have found this helpful either.

I was most pleased by the affable staff especially Danica the Hotel Manager who was very engaging over the phone even prior to my arrival. I want to commend you, you are exceptional Danica I noticed your attention to detail especially when as guests we had to drop off the rental car at the back entrance to the valet and the next door male attendant (separate business) was quite abrupt to my friend. You were quick to interject and smooth the situation over. You are quite admirable in your efforts. I also want to extend my gratitude to the rest of your staff especially all the female team members at the front desk who handle all the enquiries and remembered my friend "Mr Grey" in greetings whenever we would drop in to collect the car keys.

I have no complaints as I came to enjoy much solitude and all my interactions. I wish there was a swimming pool.

Modern amenities, high ceilings which made the room feel spacious, wonderful customer service, great view (they placed us in the highest level - 18- and we had a beautiful view of the water and mountains). Concierge and valet were excellent. We were lost on the way to the hotel and had trouble navigating where to park. Richard (staff member) was patient and excellent and even helped us check in even though we had come in through the back door. He was a friendly and was a familiar face we saw throughout our stay and really grateful for his help!

The location of the Movenpick was perfect for buses, information, shops, restaurants, etc. All the staff were exceptional, I particularly liked that the senior staff seemed to muck in and help when it was busy, this is great for staff morale. It was lovely having breakfast made fresh, as opposed to a buffet, I particularly liked that you could have breakfast from 6-4pm. The rooms were clean, modern and comfy.

The restaurant is small in relation to how many rooms are in the hotel, so breakfast could get busy. If you had any plans/trips, you would have to get there really early to ensure you got a table or had time to wait on a table. I assume this is why there is the fabulous option of eating breakfast from 6-4pm. Possibly adding early morning room service for breakfast would help alleviate this problem too.

Chocolate o’clock. Every afternoon there are complimentary plates of delicious, dainty chocolate treats. Besides being delicious, they result in a warm community atmosphere at the hotel. People have a common experience and point of connection. It’s super smart and super brilliant. The hotel is in a fabulous, central, convenient location. The staff are friendly and helpful. I arrived early. They happily held my bag while I went for a wander around the markets, then called me when my room was ready, about 2 hours earlier than expected. The facilities are clean, comfortable and well designed. The room was lovely. Smart use of space. Comfortable. I really like the bulk pump pack toiletries - the soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion all smell beautiful and were really high quality, and it’s so nice to see attempts being made to improve environmental impact and waste.

The lamb ribs at the ground floor restaurant, were outstanding. Location was perfect, the view from the bedroom was great too. I loved the service from one of the receptionists, and also the head of the kitchen. Comfy beds and bedding.

Not a huge concern, but one of the receptionist didn't know much about tours nearby and also didn't seem to know much about hobart general questions, eg what was nearby the hotel. The room service orders were missed and delayed, and when we did get the food quite late at night, it was greasy. Would enjoy having a spa or jacuzzi/pool available at facilities.

Great location in the centre of Hobart. The harbour and the shopping precinct are only a short walk away. The room was modern and well furnished. Very good bathroom with rain shower and very clean. Very good hotel for a city break!

The only thing that is perhaps a bit annoying is that the hotel does not have a car park that guests can access on their own. The hotel provides a valet service to park your car. So, you need to factor in a bit of waiting time when you want to get your car. If you want to wait in the lobby while they get your car, you want to make sure to regularly check with reception or have a look outside if your car is already there. It might happen that staff somehow miss you in the lobby and then you wait there forever while your car is already outside and the keys are well kept in a drawer at reception... :-(

location was fantastic, a block away from the harbour. rooms were modern and spacious - we booked two interconnecting rooms and and they each had 2 queen sized beds. very comfortable. staff were friendly and helpful. will definitely return

food from the restaurant was good but room service menu was a bit limited. short wait for a table at breakfast although the service more than made up for it. chocolate hour was one of the reasons we chose the movenpick - the selection provided was quickly taken and we had to wait and queue. more seating area in the lobby for relaxing or a cup of tea/drink would have been good.

The location in the centre or Hobart CBD was excellent. Easy walking distance to waterfront. The hotel facilities were safe & secure, quiet, modern and clean. The standard rooms are an excellent size and the decor modern with free Wi-Fi.

The king size bed in my room was too hard for my liking. The fixed window faced a close blank wall which made the room dark with no natural light and no fresh air available as the window could not be opened. I rang 3 times one night for room service after the restaurant was open and no one picked up the phone. I finally went downstairs to order my meal which was delivered 30 mins later. There was no instructions on the room safe for it's use. For the price I paid I was a bit disappointed.
