The 2 BR villa was ideal for a family of 5 people. Check in was quick, and although we reached exactly after 2pm, we did have to wait for about 30 minutes as the villa was still being cleaned from the previous occupation, We did not mind as it was a Saturday check in for us, and we do expect such delays in big resorts. Stay was very comfortable, parking is easy, and the villa had everything as mentioned. It is a pretty big property, spreading over 8 acres or so, and easily accessible. Restaurant and concierge services are also provided, and reception desk was courteous. Check out was easy as well.

The WIFI connection is flaky, and although we did call Reception, we were told that the signal strength at Reception and Restaurant area was excellent.....probably a well thought out strategy to induce guest visits to the restaurant?? A quick and easy fix, would be to install TP Link wifi extender signal boosters in each unit, which uses electricity cables, and comes at a very minimal cost of $30-50 per unit..

A beautiful motel right on the river, with stunning views. I booked this to be close to Mona and it’s a perfect distance (15-20min walk). It’s just off the highway so great if you’re coming in to Hobart for a night or two - you can park your car right outside your room. Rooms are cozy and the perfect size for 2. Nice warm showers and comfy bed. I really enjoyed my time here, and taking a dip in the pool. If coming in via public transport, just note it’s about a 15min walk from bus stop. I was travelling solo and didn’t have a car and was fine to navigate!

Wifi didn’t seem to work. Also a bit of road noise.

Easy check in, clean room, good price, nice location near water. Has fridge, kettle and tea and coffee. The reception was very helpful when I left my jacket behind in the room the staff were so lovely and got it sent back to me straight away in the mail. There was also a restaurant there to if we needed and food or drink and also if was close to shops and the Mona Museum.

The ducks that wonder around out the front of the rooms poop everywhere in front of the doors and on footpath and try and get into your room if you leave the door open.

Villa Unit had excellent facilities and I always pick villa units as it gives me flexibility to cook for myself if I wish to and gives me the opportunity to wash anything if I need to.

In general the room was clean however there is room for improvement but I do understand that the cleaning staff in such establishments are under tight time constraints so do the best they can in the time given.

Although a ‘budget’ room, it was almost perfect for me… number one was that it had excellent lighting including a good, bright central ceiling one; great bed, good heater, solid table and two chairs, the tele was fine, good bathroom with excellent shower (hot and good pressure). Location was out on the edge so quiet, and step outside the door and the view was very fine - and, I could walk straight out into it on to a river walk. The restaurant is spacious, well designed and decorated but without flim-flam… and the food was outstanding - that is a seriously good kitchen! Staff throughout were friendly, competent and any question or problem was just dealt with… R. at reception was an absolute gem, as were the restaurant mob. I travel a great deal, and next time I hit Hobart, I’m leaving all the fancy pants places and Airbnbs and doing the few extra kms out to here, a ‘simple motel on the river’… ha, who would have thought!

Wifi in the room suffered from being out on the edge - it worked, but only just. A slight change in switching so you could have the central ceiling light on by itself would be great.

The most amazing place, takes you right back to the sixties, with beautiful original decor…and the restaurant, and food, is just amazing, don’t eat all day, portion sizes amazing…motel rooms, the beds are so comfortable, electric blankets a plus. Ducks are a delight, the view out of the glass windows and door over the Derwent River is beautiful…congratulations to everyone there. So highly recommended…

The Motel rooms have gone back to the sixties as well, but getting a little tired looking..all rooms have been advertised as disability accessible…..not so, which was disappointing..no way would you get a wheelchair through the door…and mainly the bathroom, you wouldn’t be able to get in there, or use the toilet or shower…maybe they have a disability unit..

We stayed here after coming into Hobart from Perth WA before going home. The location is excellent, easy to get to and lovely by the river with awesome views early morning. The staff are superb. We couldn't have asked for better service. Coming in late meant getting keys from a lock box and the instructions were bang on. Two minutes after arriving we were in our room. Our room was basically but comfortably furnished, clean and perfect for our needs. Breakfast the next morning was easy enough and tasty. Check out takes only minutes and we were on our way. The Riverfront is a great place to stay, the staff are amazing and they went out of their way to accommodate our needs.

This is a classic motel in an excellent location - right on the river and views across to Mona. We only stayed for one night to see a band at Mona, and it was just perfect for us. Park right in front of your room, perfectly clean inside, very comfortable bed, a table and two chairs, lights and powers points where you need them and lovely friendly staff. We drove to Mona, but you could easily walk there and back. Highly recommend a stay at Riverside! Exceptional value for money.

It was excellent for what we wanted, which was basically somewhere to stay the night. The place was very clean and comfortable. It was within reasonable distance of Hobart and very close to Mona. The restaurant facilities were good with a fairly basic menu and food excellent. We were certainly well fed at both breakfast and dinner. We liked it so much we repeated our stay when we returned back to Hobart,

Traffic noise could be loud particularly during daylight hours.

We just had the basic room but it was very clean and the grounds where lovely, if it had been summer we would have take the room on the lake to enjoy the view. Restaurant was very good and the staff were lovely. The place was very basic but very clean and to that to me is the most important.

My only feed back would be there should be a small microwave in each room, currently the microwave is in the laundry but it shuts at 8pm so if you want to heat something up later than that you have no way to do this.
