Great location on main road, good water pressure & hot. Good restaurant on site.

A bit of road noise early as things get going.

Good location, lots of places to eat around the tavern. Walking distance to the river, Coles and a good place to stay in close proximity to other areas like lakes entrance, Metung and bruthen. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful when asked for information

Could have used a second towel hanger in the bathroom. Room was designed for 2 people but only had a place for one wet towel. Was the only thing that needed to be considered

Able to book at short notice. Clean and quiet Olivia was helpful and sympathetic when I missed the bus and came in very late Close to the station

I was late and lonely. Apple Maps sent me to entirely the wrong cemetery on foot in the heat next day. But none of that was your fault. I would’ve liked to know where to voti say tanks in the morning- couldn’t find an open door. It looks like you’re a pokies venue. That makes me sad, so hopefully I was wrong about that.

Very clean and neat room. Value for money and located in the centre of Bairnsdale. Bathroom was brand new and the room had been newly painted.

Pillows were flat and there was only three. Difficult to find reception and the key didn’t open the exterior doors easily. The shower floor tiles need a good clean. There are three flights of stairs from the car park so if you have health issues use the front door of the hotel.

Good old refurbished pub in a great location. Once there though, you don't really need to leave as there is a bar and great restaurant downstairs. Our room was a good size and the renovated bathroom did the job.

Make sure you're travelling light. When we were advised that there are no lifts and all rooms are on the first floor, they forgot to mention that the carpark is underground. Which means you've got two stories of stairs to drag your bags up. Certainly doable, but just be aware.

The waiting staff were very helpful, the women attendants kept asking us if everything was good. The cocktail bar was also great.

Finding the entrance, we weren't sure where the accommodation section was as most entrances were locked/unattended. The younger male waiter also said they didn't do cocktails in the dining area, but previously the women attendants said they could do cocktails, so slightly confused there.

To be honest we booked this accomodation based on price more than anything, but were very happy here - rooms were good value and the staff were amazing - staff are super helpful and efficient, very impressed. We arrived with bikes (bicycles), as were bike packing in the area and whilst it was a bit awkward getting the bikes up the stairs etc loved that the staff were 100% fine with us taking our bikes up to our room. We worried the main road would be noisy as it gets a lot of traffic, but didn't hear a thing overnight and slept very well. Great location in the middle of town.

The pillows aren't great, but then that's most motels - but we still slept fine.

Meals were excellent for a facility of this size - punching above their weight. I loved the hotel, once I was winning the battle of the back door.

Curtains in the room - didn’t black out the light, but it was ok, could have been better.

Bed is comfy, room set-up is great, very clean

Noise, practically hear people talking outside the room and door slamming. We got got locked out coming back in from the undercover carpark, nothing mentioned about the key not working after certain time, phone number to call should be made available i.e. written in the doors.

My room in Michell River Tavern was well equipped and ample for my needs at an excellent price compared with many others. It included undercover parking and access to the room. The Tavern has a restaurant which was very good but a little pricey. The WiFi in the bedroom worked well.

When you arrive, you have to ask because there is no name plate on or outside the large white building that I could see. A sign would be nice.
