The staff were very welcoming and I was impressed by how accommodating they were. I arrived at 9am, expecting to just be able to drop my bags while I waited for check-in. Instead, the lovely lady at the front desk checked to see if my room was available early and, when it wasn't, gave me a FREE upgrade to a superior room. This room had so much space! I could work comfortably for the day from the living space. Combined with the free lolly bar, free in-room minibar and excellent location, the whole stay was amazing. Also, blackout blinds! A must when staying in the city.

I couldn't get the aircon to work properly so the room was a bit hot but I think that was user error ;)

Good service, quirky features and super handy walking distance to all the places we visited. Would have loved to enjoy cocktail hour, but we had dinner reservations. Lovely offer of cocktails to guests. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite which was very nice to do but we didn’t need another bed as there were only two of us.

There was a couple arguing in the room next door and we could hear everything, kept us awake so would be good to have better soundproofing. The lolly bar was cute but we took a few sherbert bombs and they were so hard they could have broken teeth - might need to regularly refresh the lollies so they don’t go stale. The view from our room was a dirty alleyway - would be cool to have a mural painted or something so it’s a nicer view for guests. The Apple TVs are hard to navigate if it’s not familiar to you, would have made better use of just a regular smart TV set up.

Wonderful from start to finish. Megan was super helpful and friendly. She epitomised great service and made our stay so much fun with brilliant suggestions of things to do, places to eat at and bars to try. The AH restaurant and bar that is attached to the hotel was also a highlight. Ren seamlessly blended professional service and great banter from behind the bar while we partook in the Eucalyptus Smoked Margarita and Wattle Seed Negroni cocktails.

Nothing. With Megan and Ren, there was nothing to dislike.

I often walk past this place to and from work and was really curious about it. The hotel is a neat little spot, close to transport, hospitality and entertainment venues. The general aesthetics and style of the building and rooms is really cool. I also enjoyed the amenities available including the breakfast options, and candybar. Had everything I needed for my stay

I was only here for a short time so I didn't get a chance to make use of all the amenities available. I didn't like that I couldn't get the full experience, but that's the fault of my schedule not the hotel.

The location was good. Easy walking and central. The room was good, clean and meet our expectation. Staff were friendly, polite, and helpful.

We are a returning customer and disappointed that there's no longer free wine offer in the room. There was also no coffee maker in the room which are usually offered now in other hotels. The restaurant on the ground floor wasn't open also on the days we were there. Also disappointing.

Amazing location but its the customer service that really makes Ovolo Laneways my go-to hotel in Melbourne. I was given a free room upgrade and upon entering the room there was a cute welcome gift of jellybeans with a note saying "We've missed you, it's 'bean' a while". Adorable! The amenities in the room are always exceptional, and the staff are always friendly.

The feather pillows were surprisingly hard this time!

Well set out apartment. We thought the freebies fridge and on ground floor Coffee lollies etc great gesture. Close to Theatres. Carpark etc

Bathroom sink was dirty with shaving hairs. We complained to staff who said sink was blocked. She said we could change rooms but had already settled in and tired. Hence we couldn’t use sink. The pillows were very high which were uncomfortable we found. We didn’t have any plain teabags only diff kinds.

Location, staff were super helpful and accomodating, the honesty bar was fun, the lolly bar was raided. Great trip and hotel. Easy to park car at local station, check in/ out was smooth, room was spacious and had some little perks that we enjoyed.

Strangely the cocktails from honesty bar weren't great, which was suprising as the brand was, but they fell short of expectations. Everything else was amazing. Strangely no access to food/ room service on Sunday night.

Layout - space not well utilized; tv too far away from lounge; chrome cast didn’t work initially & had to be reset; uncomfortable lounge; shower way too narrow - kept hitting elbows on soap rack; some mound in shower; toilet doesn’t flush completely leaving toilet paper floating; very old floors; bathroom very small with outdated floor tiles

Ovolo is in a great location for the theatre district. I could easily walk to a number of theatres. I had a problem with the air conditioning in my room, but the staff were very quick to help me and I was moved to another room immediately. I also dined in their restaurant and the staff there were also very attentive. highly recommend .

On my final day I was disturbed by another quest upstairs that was screaming foul abuse at his children. But that is out of the hands of Ovolo.
