First things first: this is not a luxury hotel. It's the Miss Havisham of Viennese hotels - it was beautiful and glamourous once but now it's pretty decrepit. That said - I absolutely love that quality in a hotel and so Hotel Raimundhof was an absolute delight for me. Sure, the couches were stained and the toilet smelled - but the sheets were clean and the bathroom was immaculate. We stayed in a suite for five nights and it was incredibly spacious and comfortable - I regret not having time to use the bath because it was glorious - as was the 5 jet decontamination-style shower - like having a spa standing up! It's 30 seconds to Gumpendorfer Strasse u-bahn station, 5 minutes to Margaretengurtel station, meaning that you're within minutes of central Vienna on two different lines. The surrounding area also has lots of useful shops, including a supermarket. And of course - it's possibly the cheapest hotel in Vienna. Finally, staff member Ivan was charming and incredibly helpful - one of the best hospitality staff I've encountered in a long time. I am genuinely looking forward to staying in the Hotel Raimundhof again.
I wish the suite had a refrigerator in the room - there is definitely the space for it and it would be handy - especially for longer stays. Occasionally the hot water wasn't fully hot (usually in the morning) but most of the time, it was delightful.

The instructions how to get to the property arrived in advance via SMS and in the application, they were very clear and I quickly found the key and my room in the facility. The room is exactly as on the picture, it had all the appliances which were advertised. As I read in the comment section before coming there, it is true that for four nights of my stay the room was not cleaned up and the towels were not changed, but that did not bother me at all. The furniture was quite old-fashioned, but so is the vibe of the hotel. My bathroom was very clean and didn't have mold, although the shower holder was broken. My windows were facing the quiet Garden, so even with windows open it was very quiet and calm. Overall, if you don't plan to stay a lot in the room - this is a perfect solution for your vacation, because the location of the hotel is ideal if you want to travel by subway, there were also shops nearby. I also read a lot of bad comments about the neighborhood, but nothing even remotely close to a bad experience happened to me, so I would say that this is a good location.
the problem was that heater was set at maximum level, and there was no handle to reduce the heat;so one night I woke up because room turned into a sauna. after that I always kept my windows opened. also, there was a kettle in a room, but not a single cup, so it was pretty much useless

Nice staff, 5 minute walk to metro 8 minutes with metro to city center, great restaurants just across the road, cheap sushi just outside, spacious rooms, the courtyard was really comfy!
When you sort "low to high" on prices, you make compromises! Hotel is old and worn, peeling paint, electrical sockets that are so so, lamps with burned out lightbulbs. Elevator goes up to the third floor, but the button doesn't work to go down!

The room was a suite, it was very spacious and clean and the bathroom was heaven on earth for me. The building is located just across the road from the train station and when you get inside it feels like you are teleported to somewhere else - it is very beautiful and quiet. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
I went on a very hot day. The main issue for me was that there was an air-conditioning unit, but it was not working. There was also no fan or anything to cool the place down. I was hot beyond measures after getting there around 3pm. This was however my fault, as I did not check properly in the site to see that they did not have any cooling options listed. I ended up putting semi cold water in the bath and cool myself down a bit. It actually got better when the night came but, in the morning, it was back to hot.

I like the very positive and proactive approach of the staff. The check-in and check-out were as easy as possible, they asked about our preferred language of communication and compensated for the small negatives we have noticed during our stay at the hotel. The bathtub in our room (308) was massive.
No air conditioning (in the entire hotel). It was clear that the renovations that have started in the other wing of the hotel haven't reached the one where we stayed, but they have to start from somewhere, right? Also no fridge and just one glass (but we were given two clean ones at the reception desk upon request).

Room was very big & in the good localisation. We had less than 30 minutes to all important atractions (palaces, museums etc.). What is more it was pretty clean (maybe bathroom could be on a little bit better level but it was still on at least medium quality). The biggest advantage is price - it is one of the chepeast hotels in Vienna with good standard.
Bed for two people was combined from two beds for singles what can be issue + we had loud people outside. Of course it is not hotel issue but it decreased our comfort there. The last problem was that we received two towels, but one was normal size and one was very small.

Do you like the Sheraton? Well, then go and look for another place. This hotel is Vienna. This hotel is what this city stands for. It's old. It has history. Decorations on the high ceilings. Genuine paintings. A real key for your room with a number attached to it. This hotel is solid, but it is heavily used. Yes, you may call it worn down. So what? Get your shiny place in the first district. Here you will have a shiny bathroom, shiny personnel, and a shiny view. Likely you will have a look at the inner courtyard, which is just silent, perfect for a relaxing sleep with an open window. Outside, yes, there is the Gürtel - that famous main road - and the subway station is literally 50 meters from the hotel; a 12 minutes walk to the old train station (Wien Westbahnhof); 25 minutes walking to the first district if you take the Maria Hilferstraße (MaHü). I have seen the wall opened in more than 20 places, small 15cm x 15cm squares so you can see through to the red brick stones. (Yes, they are not decorations like in most US buildings nowadays, that thing is built with brick stones!) Asked the nice receptionist, she told me at some point they are starting renovations. Gone then this nice place that reminds you of forgotten times. You might have your shiny place then. But you will surely have to dig deeper in your wallet! (Written: 2022-09-06)
You can always criticize. Given the mindset from my advantages list, you will not dislike anything.

+ enormous room - multiple rooms actually (living room, bedroom, toilet and bathroom)! + nice old wooden furniture + comfy armchairs + big bathtub + lots of public transport in the vicinity + multiple restaurants and take-away diners in the neighborhood
- The room(s) were not very clean. There was an old rusty hair clip on the sill at the entrance to the shower. The wallpaper looked old and kind of yellowed. The rug has seen better days as well. - The door to the hotel was never locked. I would definitely lock it, as there are quite a lot of homeless, drug addicts and the like in Vienna and in this neighborhood especially - Wifi stopped working during weekend. I told them on Monday, they fixed it, and it worked again on Monday evening.

Small cozy room for one person. It was perfect for one night stay in Vienna. Very close to public transport. All the basic needs were met, bathroom in the room, wi-fi, clean bed and linen, fridge, wardrobe, plus they have an elevator!
The entrance hallway is old and unwell maintained, and the walls are thin, so if you have noisy neighbors, well... I was lucky it was quiet. The reception it is open only at certain hours, and they have it locked until that exact time. Not one minute less or more.

The room was really cheap, we booked it at the last moment and we were really surprised by the price of this hotel. The hotel is well deserved by public transport so it was easy to go to the center of vienna
It was a bit old property and you need to pay (2€) to let your stuff at the hotel the day of the checkout.
