Dining room staff were always helpful and smiling - even when having to rush. Our suite was clean when we arrived, and we only asked for additional shampoo etc. while we were there,, which were provided promptly. Location is excellent. Quiet, but close to major County roads. Beautiful gardens. Enjoyed the birds using the feeders.

Ice machine in our building didn't work, and there was a freezer in place - but no ice in it. Maybe part of the problem of not having enough staff to deliver ice? Would have thought there were would have been more inventive and varied items on the dinner menu. Quite fine to have burgers and fish & chips for the pub - but for "fine dining' the choices were limited - and the high-priced ones were REALLY high priced.

We stayed in one of the separate buildings on the property, not in the main house. Lots of parking! Very much appreciated the room upgrade when larger bed we requested for our initial room was not available. Room was spacious and very clean, and we really enjoyed having our own balcony. Variety on breakfast menu was great, and very hearty. Restaurant windows overlooked the beautiful garden. Service excellent. Loved the spacious grounds and opportunity to walk and see the gardens, etc. Walking trail just behind our building, and great for my husband, who is a runner. Excellent location between towns in the County. Really enjoyed having the cosy pub restaurant onsite and the live music. Would definitely stay again!

Such a picky thing, but maybe a variety of teas in the room for those of us who aren't coffee drinkers :)

The location was great for what we were doing. The property is in great shape and was clean. They have a breakfast that was included, which was excellent. It's an older accommodation, but because of this, it has charm and character for days.

I found it difficult to communicate with reception to confirm my booking directly through the hotel itself, and the staff at reception weren't overly friendly just there, doing their job. Same at checkout. This didn't hinder our stay though as we had minimal interaction with them.

Lovely property, great location, pub and restaurant were excellent, lives the trivial pursuit cards at the bar. The Friday night musician was absolutely amazing, fab guitar and vocals with awesome playlist :). And the hot tub outside our room was perfect!

The bathroom faucet wouldn’t shut off completely and trickled continuously but the bathroom was far enough away we couldn’t hear it all night. The bed was a bit lumpy but that could be from the foam topper. Gorgeous bed though!

The rooms were absolutely gorgeous with a old British feel…we had a full bedroom and a full sitting room. 2 fireplaces, and a outdoor patio. Everything was beautiful, bed was super comfy we didn’t want to get up! I also loved on site restaurant/pub and the gardens were gorgeous.

I feel like a little power wash on the outdoor chairs could have been done to match the cleanliness of the rest of the rooms and lobby. But that’s minor.

The site and the buildings are beautiful James at the bar was very nice and welcoming. Everything was clean and well maintained

The only negative part was the waitress at breakfast who was quite rude with us with every question we asked. We were with family members who don’t speak English and she had no patience to wait for an answer. She was on the older side but should have had more understanding

The decoration was just too adorable. The room was clean and cozy to stay at. Love the front desk staff in the morning and the servers for the breakfast. She was very busy by herself but had everything in control. Good service compared to the dinner. Simple food but tasty. The portion of the dinner was huge, I even thought we were in Texas for one second lol

I was told initially that my booking did not go through via booking.com and they had a full house. That was late in the evening, the receptionist was about to leave for the day. Luckily they were able to accommodate with a similar room. I was charged additionally for the breakfast/room at the time of check-out. I didn't ask too much cuz we had a full agenda day and really needed to go. Not sure if that additional charge had anything to do with the incomplete booking via booking.com.

we got a suite with a hot tub for two outside the bedroom patio door. Large, clean room with a very comfortable bed. Make sure you fill in the card if you want clean towels or refills of anything since maids don’t come into room and these will be left outside door if requested. Breakfast buffet was good with a beautiful view of the garden. Dinner was okay if you eat in Amelia’s Garden but don’t get the strawberry shortcake. Dry with frozen strawberries. You can get right onto the bike path from the property which was great.

It is time to offer maid service again.

Girls at reception were kind and helpful. Room was comfy, cute, quiet and clean. Breakfast service was very good and yummy food. Food in the pub was excellent and well priced.

Pub service was horrendous. Three girls serving the whole restaurant and bar (one of which told us she didn't even work there, she was the bartenders friend.) Upon entering we asked the server if it is okay that we seat ourselves, she replied "Not really. but someone will be with you eventually." Confusing answer. If we had politely been told "Sorry, we are full" we would have gone elsewhere and not been offended. Irresponsible to let more customers in when you can't offer proper service, and then treat them rudely because you are stressed. Took an hour to get a drink and longer for the food.

Location was great. Access to breakfast, dining, pub on site was very convenient. Room was spacious and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Was Super Quiet! The quietest hotel I have stayed in!

Had asked for a room with either 2 double beds or a king size bed. Was assigned a room with a Queen size. Was also placed in a premium room which was a tad more expensive. Bathroom amenities ….. 1 hand soap and 1 bath soap. Was told to ask if I needed more…. We were staying for 2 nights….so there should have been extras placed in the room. I asked and yes it was delivered in a timely fashion. No housekeeping while we stayed in the room. Had to request fresh towels. Reason given: staff shortage, which most businesses are struggling with.
