Location perfect. Right across from Union train station so easy to find at the end of a long travel day. The staff were exceptional and the rooms were beautiful. Lovely lovely lovely bed. So nice that I’m ordering from the collection to make my bed as good!! The hotel is so regal and classic and I just felt like a Princess walking the halls and sleeping in my room. Would stay here again for sure.

I didn’t love how loud the lobby was with the clock tower bar there but I’m a middle aged woman and I suppose that’s to be expected lol. It was also quite dim. Good atmosphere for a restaurant but off putting when checking in.

Check-in time was 4 PM. I requested early check-in when room was booked 5 days prior to check-in. I was reminded that check-in time was 4 PM and that early check-in may not be possible. Upon arrival to the hotel, I registered, however the room was not available for early check-in and I was once again cordially reminded that check-in was only at 4 PM and that I would receive a text message once the room was ready for check-in. That text message was received at 5:13PM (1 hr and 13 mins past check-in time).

I don’t think the location could get any better. The beds were very soft, and I always looked forward to coming back at the end of the night. The bamboo keys were a unique touch to the whole experience.

The room was smaller than I expected it to be. The robes weren’t as soft as I had anticipated. I wasn’t a fan of the smell of the complimentary shampoo and conditioner. It also didn’t leave my hair feeling nice like my shampoo at home.

The customer service was great. The service connected to me on sms and they were like my fairy godmother throughout my stay. Everything I required, I asked for on the messaging and they got it sent up ASAP so that was very nice to have. The bed was comfortable. The wi-fi wasn't free but they mentioned I could sign up for Accor to get complimentary wi-fi which I did on the second day but really, wifi should be free. The lobby was grand and beautiful but super noisy.

The room and bathroom were very small for a 5-star hotel but I didn't stay there much as I was in town for work. If I were on a proper holiday, I imagine I'd be bothered by it. Couldn't put anything in the fridge, unfortunately.

Perfect 5 star hotel. Historical elegance.. modern upgrades ..design and functionality and overall experience was wonderful.. top rated venue for guest satisfaction.. cleanliness..first class value for everyone. Great service .. relentless attention to detail. A hotel committed to their guest seems to be the corner stone of Fairmont Royal York. Our parents visited in the 80's ..and remember their time spent in the Library. A beautiful Titanic Adventure is what we experienced..we would to love set sails again in this elegant time piece.

I wish my wife and I had more time to enjoy the stay.

My reservation led me to believe that I had purchased the bed and breakfast package ($36 per person per night) the hotel fought this and refused to give me the breakfast credit. Was NOT impressed. Some of the items were good, others weren’t. And it was extremely overpriced

It's a beautiful historic building in the Downtown area of Toronto. We were in walking distance of the CN Tower, Ripleys Aquarium and the historic Union Station. The atmosphere as you walk in is of high class...very chic. It's price for reservations is average for the local area. The staff is very pleasant to talk with and very accommodating with reasonable requests...even around midnight. Housekeeping even tidied up the bathroom during our stay.

The front entry and valet entrance both have quite a few stairs to climb, not the easiest for mobility issues. The prices to eat or drink in the restaurant in the hotel are extremely high. If you have medications or other items that require refrigeration, you have to call for a fridge to be brought to your room. This information could be displayed on the fridge in the refreshment cabinet before people accidentally move items in the refreshment fridge, or at least asked at the front desk to expedite the process of sending a fridge to the room.

I booked two rooms one for me and hubby and one for my teen girls! The rooms were opposite each other, I wanted them to be so, so we can coordinate our days' activities with convenience. The girl were satisfied with their two queen room so was I with our King size bed room.

I was disappointed to learn that there is no free wifi! Wifi is no longer a luxury it's a necessity, when you pay such an amount for the room and still have to pay extra for Wifi, I wasn't pleased with that.

The bed was perfect, the linen smelled like fresh air, like they were air-dried in a mountain breeze, loved that. The room had everything I needed, including an umbrella, which I really appreciated. I could (partially) open the windows. The location is phenomenal.

It could have been a little bit cleaner, there were deposits on the bathroom door handle and other metal elements. Some guests were a bit loud and agitated and the lobby, although very elegant and beautiful, gave off a train station atmosphere, with loud music in the evening.

Hotel is ideally located for downtown Toronto - proximity to restaurants, stadiums, shows, transportation. An iconic Canadian hotel still shows pretty well.

I didn't like having to sign-up for a travel service to get free wifi. Although the sign-up didn't seem to work, I did get reimbursed for wifi charges when I complained about this issue on check-out. Also the hot water temperature in the bathroom sink never got very hot (although the shower temperature seemed fine).
